Love I - 8. Heaven to My Hell

You are the light to my darkness…

The demons of a thousand hells dwell within me,

scrabbling at my walls, clawing their way to the surface.

But your radiant eyes, beacons of purifying light,

keep them at bay, keep them from destroying all that I am.

You are the Heaven to my Hell.

You are the calm to my chaos…

My raging river rushes, flooding everything in its path,

damned for its drowning.

But your delicate drops of rain trickle softly, quenching the parched desert soil,

revered for their rarity.

Without question, you are the Heaven to my Hell.

You are the hope to my despondency…

I plunge fathoms deep into murky waters, drifting inexorably downward,

lungs filling with the fetid waters of despair.

But your strong yet tender hands reach down, defying the pestilent, parasitic waters,

grasping me, pulling me back to the surface to breathe once more.

Beyond all things, beyond all that is life and death... you are the Heaven to my Hell.
