Love I - 9. I Love You

You look at me and your eyes are filled with doubt.

And you say that I will never be satisfied with you,

that you cannot give me all I need,

that I will leave you for what you cannot be.

I look at you and I see everything that I need,

everything that I have ever wanted,

everything that I will ever want.

In you I see my hopes and dreams, my safety and my sanity.

In your eyes I see the answers to all my questions, the solutions to all my problems.

In your arms I feel the infinity of the universe; I feel eternity stretching out before me.

You are everything to me.

There is nothing in my existence that does not revolve around you.

You are the sunrise that starts my morning;

without you, I would never open my eyes.

You are the stars that light the way in my night;

without you, I would forever be in darkness.

You are the music that fills my ears;

without you I would live in silence.

You are the rhythm that drives my heart;

without you it would cease to beat.

I never want to spend one moment of my life without you.

I don’t know how to convince you

that your fears are unfounded,

that the trust you give me is not misplaced,

that no one could ever take me from you.

But I hold my hand out to you, my love.

I offer it to you with my heart, my soul and my life.

It is all I can give you, but it is everything I have.

If you take it, I will promise that from this moment on

every second of my life will be devoted

to allaying your fears,

to earning your trust ,

to making you KNOW that I am yours—and yours alone

for the rest of my life.

I never want to spend one moment of my life without you.
