The Poetry of M - 17. The Last Sunset (Inspired by the 'Gone From Daylight' series)

An homage to Justin

Inspired by @Comicality's epic 'Gone From Daylight'

He waits beyond the light of days

He waits for me

He lies beyond the golden rays

He waits to see

I lived a life in the light of days

I lived in pain

I lived a life in the sunshine's rays

I lived in vain

He loves me outside of daylight

I say goodbye

He loves me inside of midnight

I go to die

I've died from a light of days

I die and he waits for me

I've died to sunshine's rays

I die and he opens me

He loves me in the night

So I wait upon this shore

He takes me from the light

I know not what's in store

I only know that

To be in love with him

I must be gone from daylight

To be together with him

This must be my last sunset

Precious are the lives we live. More precious still are the lives we love.
Cherish both . . . because nothing lasts forever.
