Approximately 100 words. Not quite poetry. The title says it all.

Lovers over twenty years, he was my everything, my brother, father, confidant and spiritual guide.
We were indestructible and often finished the others sentences. We lived and worked together 24 hours a day.
We argued often, bitterly and publicly.
We traveled together, were a great team at this. I’d navigate; he’d drive, or versa visa.
Last year in the early fall we traveled to Amsterdam, then Berlin. He became ill in Prague.
We came home.
It was cancer.
Now the doctors say he is dying.
No one answers when I call friends, or when I send texts, or emails.
Dear God, help me!
