As Betwixt the Devil and the Deep Sea

   (5 reviews)
Genres: Horror
Sub-genres: Horror - Modern

After a few days’ stay on a remote and bleak island in the sea, a writer finds that the boat he arrived in has been torn from its mooring by a storm. None of the locals will take him to the mainland, afraid to brave the waters after the storm, and as he struggles to make his way home, it seems more and more as if something doesn’t want him to leave.

This story contains elements of both physical, supernatural, and psychological horror.

Horror stories are not my cup of tea; not sure why people enjoy being scared. Never read any Stephen King and I avoid his movies. Last scary one I watched and semi-enjoyed was Alien and that's probably due to the SciFi aspect. :)

All in all, I found it to be well written and the pace was slow enough to make the entire thing creepier.

Thank you. And thanks for reading it even if it's not your genre. :) You know, personally, I don't like Stephen King at all. I think he's boring. There are far better horror writers out there, in my opinion.
