An intriguing short-story with an interesting look at the life of a young gay man who'd grown up in Dutch country in Pennsylvania, and then moved to San Francisco.  The author tells how the young man settles into the area and meets people, and how he 'survives' as a gay man.  The story is compelling and takes many twists and turns as it winds its way to a conclusion, although I feel the author needs to clear that up, since it's a bit confusing.  However, it was still a good read.
