Gabriel Redbrick mourns the loss of his companion, Dr Albert Callico, who died in a minibus accident on his way to a medical conference.

Following a meeting with Albert's solicitor, Gabriel discovers he has inherited a derelict property in rural Italy. He also stumbles upon a secret message left to him by Albert.

The message leads Gabriel to the Italian site where he meets a groundsman, Lorenzo Morelli. The clue, which leads to Albert’s discovery puts his own life in danger, and also leads to a chance to providing a clue to unlocking his past.

There is so much wishful thinking in this story. I wish every gay/straight/bisexual/confused/questioning young person, male or female, could have this kind of understanding and support.

This story stands alone, but most of the characters you may have previously met in the Appetites series, also known as Catering With Benefits. It is not necessary to have read the previous books but is recommended.
