Halloween 9: The End of Michael Myers - 2. Chapter 2: Friendship

Tell me why you're sad." Steven spoke as he walked backwards down the sidewalk and stared at Kyle.

"Um...well..." Kyle blinked and followed Steven slowly. It was definitely a trick question to him. "I guess because I'm different than everyone else and that difference makes the world and everyone in it hates me."

"I don't hate you." Steven stated as he stopped walking backwards and fell in to walk beside him.

"Of course, you're not going to hate me because you don't know me. It's the reason why we moved here." Kyle spoke before his walking stopped as he came upon his house.

"Kyle, the first thing you gotta learn is that people's opinions don't matter. I live life for the beauty of it, not for the people. Take a look around."

Steven spoke as he looked around pointing to the beautiful sky and the sun shining through the trees. His ears picked up the melody of birds singing and he also pointed that out. His eyes then turned to focus back on Kyle's eyes. They shared that eye contact for a long time. Steven wasn't sure what Kyle was feeling but he felt something strong. He felt the urge to wrap Kyle up in his arms and kiss him. Steven wasn't sure if that was love, attraction, or maybe even sympathy. It was too soon though, and Steven may have been confident in everything but his sexuality wasn't one of them. Both boys drew in closer together. They tilted their heads to opposite sides and their lips came merely inches apart. Steven's eyes were half-lidded and on their way to closing.

"Well...I gotta get inside." Kyle suddenly spoke as he pulled away from Steven before their lips could make contact.

"Alright but Kyle..." He couldn't help but place both of his hands on the boy's shoulders and massage them. "Please try to think about what I said. There's a lot more to life than people and hopefully you're starting to see it."

Both boys smiled and Kyle soon disappeared behind the door of his home. He took a deep breath and just stared at the house. He wanted to go inside. He wanted to spend more time with Kyle. He even wanted to be with him but he knew it was too soon. In due time it would happen, he was sure of it. On his way home, he felt hands push at his back and he screamed as he stumbled forward and grabbed onto someone's fence to keep from hitting the ground.

"Damn your light weight." Lizzie smiled as she hopped over to the other side of him and kissed his cheek.

"That or you're just strong as hell." Steven smiled and once regaining his composure, he would take both of Lizzie's hands into his own. "So, what's up?"

"Oh not much just a party at the tower farm this weekend. You know the place is like abandoned so it's the perfect spot." She smiled and broke out of his hands as she pranced down the road with Steven following her.

"Did you ever stop to think why it was abandoned?" He simply asked while she pranced and he walked normally by her side.

"I..." She blinked and looked at him. "Steven, you're always good at these trick questions!" She laughed and nudged him in the shoulder with her own.

He laughed and smiled briefly before turning serious once again. "The reason why it was abandoned was because a murder massacre happened there."

"Oh yeah right! Good one! You've gone a grade higher with the sarcasm. Anyway, I've got to get ready for tonight. If you come be sure to have a costume because it's a Halloween party." She smiled and kissed his cheek before disappearing around the corner.

Steven watched Lizzie disappear around the corner. He couldn't help but love her as a friend. She was always hyper and happy go lucky. She and Steven both had personalities that people couldn't help but love. He soon walked off in a different direction from Lizzie and from Kyle's house. He soon found home and realized he only lived three blocks from Kyle. He smiled liking that close distance. He had his drivers licence so it wouldn't have been a problem anyway but he preferred to walk. He always believed that when people drive they miss out on nature's beauty. He soon stepped into his house and smiled at the complete silence. His foster parents both had jobs with long hours and usually weren't home until nightfall. He moved up to his room and collapsed on the bed. He stared at the ceiling and let the birds singing cradle him off to sleep.

Steven woke up four hours later and slowly pushed himself to sit up. He used his hands to wipe sleepiness from his eyes and looked out the window to find darkness. He wanted to see Kyle so bad at that moment. He had taught Kyle the beauty of nature's daytime, but there were so many other things for Kyle to learn. Nature's nighttime being one of them. He moved out into the lit hallway and squinted his eyes together. He stumbled a bit, grabbed the railing of the staircase, and moved down stairs.

"Good your up. I just finished dinner," Kara, who was Steven's adoptive mother, spoke.

"I smell it," Steven spoke as his face lit up with that charming smile.

He moved through the kitchen and into the dining room. He found several plates on the table. One contained barbecue chicken the other two contained corn on the cob and mac and cheese. He saw two empty plates and silverware also on the table with two glasses of coke.

"Mom there's only two plates." Steven turned around to look at his mother curiously.

"Well your father's boss is an ass and demanded that your father begin and finish the report tonight, which includes research so he most likely won't be home till morning. He'll get a shower and have to go right back in to present the report."

Kara rolled her eyes and the two sat down to eat dinner. Meanwhile Tommy Doyle, who was Steven's adoptive father, was in his office. The whole building was dark except for his office. He typed away on his computer trying to get everything done as quickly as possible. Soon he heard his stomach grumbling and looked up at the clock. He figured it wouldn't hurt to step out for McDonald's real quick. He had the key so he could lock the door and get back in.

Standing up, he moved out of his office and down the dark hallways to the exit. He locked the door back, headed to his car, and began unlocking it. In the background, a dark figure could be seen and he grabbed onto the door before it closed all the way and moved inside the building. Tommy pulled his door open then realized he had forgotten his wallet.

"Damn it." Tommy spoke.

He turned around, headed back to the door to the building, and unlocked it. He moved back inside and the dark figure watched him from the shadows. Tommy moved into his office and grabbed his wallet. He stopped to look at a picture of his boss on the wall.

"Fucking asshole." Tommy raised his fist wanting to punch the picture but then thought better of it.

He shook his head and moved back down the hallway towards the exit. When he was near the door, he was impaled with a knife to the stomach. He doubled over and groaned in pain.

(That's it for Chapter 2! I hope I am doing better in this story compared to my last ones. I'm not rushing into the action, which I think was one of my big problems. Well there was some action in this chapter but trust me, I am going to draw things out. I would really appreciate some feedback on these last two chapters. I think some guidance and some opinions from the readers would really help me in what direction I take the next chapters. Like I said, this story is just something out of the top of my head and I'm just throwing things in there as they come to my mind. It wasn't planned from beginning to end so there's definitely room for people's suggestions and ideas. Feed back can be sent to colormexhappi@aol.com or in the reviews section. Thank you and I should have chapter three out soon.) Author's Chapter Notes:
This is where the story really begins. Most of the really important characters to the story has been introduced and more will probably come along the way. So now the beginning characters introductions are complete enjoy the real beginning of the story)
