All authors have a list of stories, which can be accessed by clicking the Stories tab on their profile, or for their own list by hitting the blue My stories button. Here's mine as an example https://www.gayauthors.org/author/timothy-m/ At the top of the list there is a header showing how many stories they have written, how many comments and words those stories have. Except the header says Reviews, not comments, which I never noticed until now. Would it be possible to have both number of story / chapter comments and number of story reviews shown ? It's not urgent of course, and sorry if I missed an earlier topic on this.

Hi all. This is the first of many projects. As we all know, the Roll the Dice anthology was published last week. This project involves our editing/beta team and this challenge is to write a 200 word review (or more, but not less than 200) for each story in the anthology. Several catches here folks. We may not use the following words: like, love, hate, bad, good. You may post the review as soon as you have finished it. You may not write a review for a story you edited/ or helped to develop as a beta. Provide honest feedback. If there is something you find compelling, make note of it. Be equally mindful of pointing out flaws, though be sure to remain constructive. A review does not have to be all flattery, but you should support your criticisms. If you have posted a comment already, thank you, (this project is a little late), you may ignore this project. Or you might like to add to the comment. Hugs and kindness

This is a companion to the 5 Stars topic. This post focuses on the review portion of writing a review. The stars part of the discussion should be made in the other post. We are working on creating an article/blog post for community guidelines for reviews and comments. They aren't intended to be requirements. They are intended to help the reader struggling with what to say, ideas on how to structure comments and reviews. This would be things like: Spoilers should be in spoiler tags if there is no way to avoid using them Praise in public, criticize in private. Talk about some aspect you really liked just say thanks or great job As an author, I certainly like hearing about how people reacted to my chapter/story. I'm never a fan of "that sucked". Well, okay, that's your opinion. What about it didn't you like? "That sucked! you killed off my favorite character" Obviously I'm not thrilled you thought it sucked, but at least I know why. Probably only George R.R. Martin can get away with killing off characters left, right and center without people lynching him... Also the flip. "I loved it!" great! Why? "I loved it, the character banter made me laugh." Great, now I know something I can use in the future. That said, I'd take a "love it" or "hate it" over silence. So, what do you think about comments and reviews? what do you feel should be part of a community 'best practices' sort of guideline/standard?
