Confessions Of A Political Addict

Damn it!   I was getting cleaned up and writing again, now I just got my first taste of Crack, Political Crack   I need to remember unlike years before I have a young story to think about; he's not even 1 chapter old yet; I can't just abandon him for a quick political score during the primaries.   Still, it is so much fun to debate, fight over views about everything from the role of government to the role of a parking ban against non-residents. Political debate is addictive; it's like sex

Ga Story Ashes Of Fate: Episode 1, Season 1

Alright, this is my first GA story review in a while, I have my own set of review structure that is slightly different than Renee's outline for GA, but not incompatible.   Let's start with Cynus' Ashes of Fate   Ashes of Fate Episode 1, Season 1   Plot Summary: We meet Tristan the protagonist of this story with a mild amnesiac episode at the beginning of the chapter, where he does not recognize who he is and where he is. New Story In Process: Working Title Cyber Bullying Defense Team

I've been arguing back and forth, even trying to offer some one else a chance at writing this story, but I have decided to finally take the plunge and write this new story. I had come up with the concept 3 years ago, but I kept shelving it until now.   The plot of the story centers around a mass act of Coordinated Cyber Bullying attacks on Gay teens. LGBT leaders and advocates are unable to do anything to fight this new threat as ad campaigns, youtube videos, and marches prove ineffective. The

Some Things Off My Chest

As I start my long weekend of reading and writing due to the labor day holiday, I've hit upon something I should have done a long time ago, but I feel like I never could do, I want to say "I'm sorry".   Confession is good for the soul and after thinking things over, I've got to confess my soul:   As an author, I've been at GA for many years without a single great hit or an ugly negative story, as a gay man I have been out for 4 years without having a stable relationship for more than 3 month

Official National Languages: My Take

Alright, one political post a week   An issue was raised about the use of Spanish in communication versus using English, which is the majority language of the US currently. It's a really provocative question about language and people.   I do believe that an official language in some countries are necessary to create a cultural identity. It's a good idea for nations that want to establish some kind of hegemony over customs and standards. For the United States, it's a little more complicated.

Serial Killers

Well I took a slight break tonight from marathon reading and writing to watch some TV, or more precisely catch up on some TV. I don't know how many of you watched Hannibal, but it really is a provocative TV drama centering around Hannibal Lecter, America's favorite Cannibal. I finished the final season today and had several thoughts about this version of Hannibal and Will Graham.   Yes, they are most definitely a messed up gay couple, but in a weird horror movie way, Hannibal makes sense as he

Now I Remember How I Got Into Gay Fiction

I just started re-reading one of my earliest bookmarks from Cryboy.org. As I read Jeff Allen's story "When Love Comes" part of his trilogy of stories, I realized why I started down the path of reading gay fiction and I can even now pinpoint something else, the balance of an erotic story and a gay fiction story. I will do an in-depth review on these three classic gems in a few weeks after I am done with the over 100 chapters, but for now, I just want to share something I rediscovered.   Like it

Another Retro Review: "wilderness Survival" By Jim Carter, Also My First Negative Review

I am going through a camping fetish stage right now, so bear with me as I dig through my old story bookmarks. I don't know why I feel like digging up the past, but there's just something interesting and reminiscent about reading old stories I used to like.   So let's review this story: http://www.nifty.org/nifty/gay/highschool/wilderness-survival/   To start off, I thought The Journey by Sunshine boy was dated, but pleasant and capable of being updated if the writer ever returns. This story

Retro Story Review: "the Journey" By Sunshine Boy

I am avid reader, but not always bound by GA's collection of talented writers   Today, I am going to review an oldie that I fished out of my bookmarks from years ago. It's a short story that can be read in one day if you feel like it, despite being split into 20 chapters. I never met this author during his time, but I do appreciate a nice reading.   http://iomfats.org/storyshelf/hosted/sunshine/   To start off, how much is love worth to you? I don't know about you guys, but $1500.00 sound

Lgbt Movie Review: "the Way He Looks"

Time to watch some movies and I pick the 2014 Brazilian film "The Way He Looks"; ironically, the movie is about a gay blind boy, like I could relate to that   Sometimes, I feel like a unicorn, being both gay and legally blind (I am fully blind in my left eye and have 20/300 distance with 20/70 reading in my right eye). It's a rare subject and it's a rare concept. To me, this subject is extremely interesting and important. Through boyfriends and hook ups, one thing I learned about modern gay

Cautionary Tale: I Almost Fell In Love With Donald Trump

One More Political Observation, I really am trying to get away from this, but for some reason; I keep getting pulled in by how ridiculous this stuff is getting.   Also for the people who keep saying wait it's only summer, this is not too early to speak politics or candidates; remember Citizens United ruling has made the idea of a honeymoon moot in politics. As long as you have one major Super PAC left, you are always running. It's an ugly concept and I think older Republicans and Democrats don

Ugh! I Have To Talk Politics, Because This Is Ridiculous

Rant Start:   http://www.politico.com/story/2015/08/south-carolina-republican-party-donald-trump-run-2016-121725.html?hp=rc2_4_b1   Loyalty Oaths? What the hell is wrong with these guys? This is not the People's Republic of the United States, we don't need to pledge unconditional loyalty ot a political party in order to make our way in life.   I don't like Trump, I made that extremely clear, but this is stupid and is only causing the rifts within the GOP to grow bigger. He's got no real ch

Well, Over-Speculation And Over Leveraging Again

I miss Bluesox, who was a former member here from Boston in the Finance industry. Being an accountant, I am technically his mortal foe on valuation purposes ,but I loved arguing with him over the future of Capital markets and Capitalism itself. Beyond politics, my first love is Economics and we are seeing a classic example of Supply surplus with weak demand. Yes, the great recession was started with too much hype over Supply side economics, but the current situation really shows that there is m

World Heroes: Some News Is Worth Applauding

This is not a political post, but an honest congratulations to all those brave men involved. I have been watching the unfolding story of the 3 Americans, a British national, and a Frenchman fight off a terrorist armed with an automatic weapon on a high speed train heading to Paris. If there's a good reason why we should be in the fight together as a collective whole rather than a unilateral force, this incident proves that unity can triumph over terror.   This could have been a lot worse, it c

A Lovely Day For A Cookout

Still not talking about Politics I am holding my nose and head away from that shit storm. Instead, I went to a nice summer BBQ, had a hot dog (no I am not eating dogs that would be cannibalism ), and just enjoying my day.   Something I realized today though is that you can make a dry, non mayo Potato salad taste pretty good, but I think it robs the dish of the flavor it should have. I am not a huge healthy eater type of guy; although, I did bring a fruit plate to the BBQ as a gift (It's a Ch

Alright, let me drop politics for a bit and blog about something I seldom talk about, my nascent love of compression gear Yes, I have a naughty fashion edge to me; especially towards runner outfits and exercise outfits   It's just so hot!     It's also so form fitting   Let me add a few more for fun:     Yum   Anyone else?

Perception And Perspectives

I am one of those contrarians, you know that guy who will eat a box of twizzlers despite knowing I hate the lycorish or in this case giving a man I know I despise a few minutes of my life to listen to what he has to say. To be honest, I still hate lycorish, but I learned twizzler is actually eatable. I actually listened to Donald Trump's speech in New Hampshire and I might not like the man, but I can see his appeal and even agree with him, that just got me thinking about the nature of defining m

Updates On Life And Stuff

Well beyond meditating on Eastern/Western philosophical and religious issues for "blue Rose", which is still being written as a re-launch for my Causality Universe, I also got some life updates.   I've pulled the trigger and I am leaving Corporate America, aka Health care/ Insurance accounting. Horray!   I am going to be the accountant of a Non-Profit Education and Disability Services, which I feel like coming back home to a place, I actually care a deep amount about. I have worked in non-pr
