I've been standing on the sidelines for a while, not wanting to weigh in on the NSA secret intelligence operations and other issues, but the detainment of an innocent family member of a Press reporter just stepped over all the lines of this Conservative. Even I have a line in the sand, when it comes to security arrangements and investigations.
We have real issues in this world, real threats from id
I really do enjoy writing realism into stories; I know it's not pure fiction and there's something interesting about reflecting on your life in a story. You guys can probably pick up various reasons why I am not a great boyfriend from reading my story, I freely admit it, too. I failed to read deeper into the romantic nature of my own relationship; perhaps, I don't know if it was a real relationship or a friendship that could never get launched. Perhaps, I was right in the beginning of it all; th
I will be up in Canada next week. Toronto-Montreal area. It is kind of ironic as I am going and he's coming back, but will be interesting.
So as a forewarning Chapter 9-the end will be delayed in posting until next Saturday of Language of Love.
As for the story:
I know Chapter 7 touched on a foreign local hot button issues that most of you guys probably either don't care about or don't even realized existed. Dog meat consumption is a Chinese cultural problem; it's a complex issue, wh
An observation that I need to answer on my story's word length:
Yes, I know, my chapters are really short for Language of Love.
It's actually intentional. In the modern world, we don't write 10,000-20,000 to describe a day on our blogs or texts, at least for the average person. We shorten and compress it down to 1,000-2,000 words. I could easily make this story longer by adding more descriptions, color, and other facets of my culture or his culture. However, that's not the essence of mod
First, I was kind of worried that my story was too Chinese and might have been a little too "Cultural". It felt natural to write based on personal experience and things happening around me. It's a fun writing style and it allows me to write a lot faster and more naturally without worrying about technical terms or financial concepts. One reason why I am churning out a chapter a day.
As for some of the more controversial topics touched on, I know I pushed the envelope a bit. In Chapter 3, I ma
Life is weird and sometimes you don't expect things to happen in a chain. Dating is complicated, you don't even need to read my entire story to get that part. Language of Love is different and strange for me, it's a writing that has no ending and the love is in flux with my life. The chances are pretty high that this might end in disappointment for me and my readers, but everyone is hoping and crossing their fingers for Happily Ever After.
Writing about your own life, it's weird, but it feel
My mourning is over for lucky, I still miss him, but I feel like I can finally return to writing again.
Some interesting things have happened to me during this time and it is impacting my writing.
I will go into more depth with an example of a possible new story later this week.
Anyway, here's a picture of Lucky, so you guys know how he looked in life.
He was my best friend for 12 years. I didn't deserve his loyalty or his love, he just gave it without a reason.
I don't know what to say, my dog is gone and I do not know what to say.
I will dedicate a poem to him:
I Was Lucky To Have You
You were always in my heart
Greater than any lover
Greater than any partner
For with you
I knew
I had a friend
I remember our first meeting
You were small
You were light

I was watching a re-run of American Greed, a TV show about real life frauds and pyramid schemes. As I watched the episode, I was reminded of something I came upon during my research for my novel, the Big Squeeze. Most of the senior executives of Mortgage, financial, and legal system were never indicted or sentenced to jail time, except one very interesting exception, Lee Farkas of TB&W.
Lee Farkas was one of the richest openly gay CEO's, if not the richest gay executive, in the 2000's. H
Here's my musings on the 33 strategies and 33rd strategy specifically:
Robert Greene has been heralded as a "modern version of Machiavelli", since his books exalts the amorality and ruthlessness that exists in human behavior and strategic thinking.
I am no apologist for the man, but upon reading the 33 Strategies of War, I can see where is he getting part of inspiration. It is not Machiavellian concepts of amorality like the Prince, but the Chinese 36 Strategems and Art of War. Upon furt
Just took a look at the comparison between Slavery and Gay Marriage states on a side by side comparison:

Anyone see patterns?
I probably learned this truth long ago, I have been in finance for five years in different companies and across the spectrum.
In my last job, I had to fire a lot of people, because the business was losing money. It just built up strain for me as the numbers would never align correctly due to poor management decision making.
In my current job, I am preparing a new round of terminations, but unlike my past job, I completely agree with this one, sadly. My current company is profitable and m
No more reviews for today, I just want to add a blurb about seeking out nature in the urban jungle.
I've realized that beyond all the technological and lines of financial detail that I go through, I actually enjoy nature. No seriously, I've been walking around the parks and private gardens of Boston and its surrounding areas in the last few weeks. I have climbed up hills to seek out arboretums filled with hundred year old trees and understand why people sought their preservation.
There's
Spoiler Alert: Don't read on unless you want to get spoiled, which is kind of hard to do for a horror movie that makes fun of the Horror movie genre formula
Drew Goddard and Joss Whedon writing a horror movie script together for the first time, since the end of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. This combination is an amazing classic combination and the results...Meta....
What can you say about a movie that was made to both showcase what the horror genre has gotten right over the years
I should probably do a series of blog entries dedicated to movies that I watch:
Well, up next is a sad movie with a not-so Hollywood ending. While I loved Schindler's List, it was far two two dimensional. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas was far more interesting and dynamic. The scenes between Bruno, the german 8 year old boy, and the Shmuel, a Jewish 8 year old boy, really touched something in my heart and soul. The subtext of Bruno's family, a Nazi affiliated military one, with the complex
Okay, a non-controversial subject, Zombie love
And no I am not talking about any passion I have with a certain member of GA (Haha!)
Seriously, I love this movie, which is unsurprising to most people who have known me or read these blogs for a while. I hold a lot of existential philosophical views and a self-aware zombie, who falls in love with a human would be right up my interests.
What caught my interest in this movie was the reviews and the tag line from Dread Central (for you ho
My heart goes out to UK soldier killed a few days ago by being run over and hacked to death.
The message behind this murder is one we have heard a lot in the past few months, Radical Islam. Hate to say this, but it's an obvious problem that won't go away.
Whether it is Boston, England, China, or Russia, a free society or closed society, and varying degrees of religious tolerances, there's a big problem brewing between varying cultures and those that profess a radical line of Islamic adhe
Let me just say, someone on this show was definitely a disgruntled Republican and an angry Tip O'Neil democrat
House of Cards is a really interesting show. the behind the scenes struggles and corruption haven't been this openly shown to the public, ever. Beyond politicians being scheming bastards, Manipulative reporters and false information are a mainstay in Washington in every administration. Kevin Spacey is always a great standard bearer.
The show gets a lot of interesting details ab
I know people waiting for Big Squeeze, but I can't release new chapters without some aid.
I also have begun writing a new Sci-Fi story, one that I really like and hope intrigues people with its ideas and hook.
Take a look at my request and a short example of my sci-fi story, if you want to offer help:
I know it's not San Fran, but I can't resist the call of the wild and shamu III
Any travel tips or ideas? Any gay travel things I can do in the city, like shows or clubs. Not looking to hook up, but I wouldn't mind meeting some So Cal guys either

Goodbye tax free shopping and Amazon Bulk purchases, online shopping may be getting taxed. I get it from a tax perspective, it has been a gaping loophole in the US and international tax jurisdiction that people can buy a lot of items online while avoiding sales tax. It isn't fair to brick and mortar businesses like Best Buy that I go in there to check out the newest gadgets, then go online to buy it at a
Epic, beautiful, and tear-jerking.
The legend of Spartacus has been told countless times with every generation coming up with another story or film that captures the imagination. This retelling by Starz network had more blood, swearing, and sex than any other, but it felt more true to form for the era and times. Slavery is not a dead concept of the ancient world, even in today we still have slaves, whether it is in the human trafficking in Africa, the sex trade in Europe, Asia, and Americas,
I said it beforre in another blog and countless times when the soapbox was still around: the biggest expense for the average health care provider was the insane mandate of Electronic Health Records implementation.
I was reading this on CNN and I think even the more liberal proponents have to see that this reform was far too heavy handed:
Doctor Gives Up on US Health Care
Look, I warned people years ago, when I was heading up accounting at a health care firm that the new laws are not
Don't worry it's not the sexual brand of gay Anime However, it is moving and very adult oriented. I thought the fan Dubbers did good job on this episode and it explores some interesting things that GA writers have gone over, gay guys who have given up on love.
The original japanese is much better, but this is fine to give an American audience a taste.
IF you really enjoy it, I suggest watching the entire series if possible. I made the recommendation earlier in the Member Q&A thread,
Well, there is a lot of sympathy and charity going around (I just put $100 to the red cross for Boston Marathon bombing victims) We're going to get through this and I am thankful for everyone around the world showing your solidarity.
Now as for the title of blog: This was the cutest thing in recent days and kind of lifts the spirit
