Purpose implies some greater being deeming us (the only sentient species on Earth) with tasks more important than our own. There in lies the problem of purpose; if you do not believe in a greater intelligence directing your existence, then you become confused as to the why and how of your existence. For myself, I have no purpose other than being and doing the most good I can for as long as I exist. Unfortunately, the other side of the equation exists for those desiring to be and to do the worst they can (without them we would have no need for prisons).

Of course, I cannot say for certain there isn't a higher being getting great enjoyment as I stumble and bumble through life, just waiting for me to make the next big boo-boo.

I think a lot of my ideals are based on purpose, being something. Purpose is something created by us for us, not anything greater. if you have no purpose then what are you? you are nothing. if you do not move forward, WITH progress, then you are left behind with zero purpose.

purpose is injecting yourself in society, a community, a school and making something of yourself. if you are destined to murder seven children and rape their corpses and become notoriously famous, then yes, that was your purpose. purpose ends however, some fail, some take the wrong course!

Without purpose you me and everyone else is nothing. That is why these suicidal people do what they do, the purpose gene is weak in them. They feel they are lacking purpose, lacking rewards, like you say. it is easy to achieve reward while maintaining purpose. the homeless are purposeless, they feed off the likes of you and me expecting to be nudged along somewhere and kept at a constant state of being "content" with their lives.

the greater good. this is what is prudent for man. what would be best. if we must destroy New York and everyone in it because of some nuclear threat to the US or the world, we would. Do you ask yourself in situations, "what would the prudent man do?" have you ever thought of defending something you felt so strongly for? to many people sit by while others decide for them, they too lack purpose.

the greater good is what is best for us. if we must remove things, let them be removed. If it is a detriment to society, eradicate it. some of the foolish trend detriments to society, but there are some that will arise and we will strike those things down because they could ruin us.

Purpose is what you must be. from birth your purpose is to grow and complete your life. purpose is the in-between from birth and the completion of your life. we cannot account for freak accidents, deaths of strange nature like drunk driving or an OD. that is something brought on by us tampering.

some purpose is visible on others, while some you cannot see, but its there. musicians serve the purpose to entertain us with sound or lyric, writers, their purpose is to document and or create. If the world was to go into ruin, the writers would be under genocide. porn stars purpose is to touch upon our deep desires of lust, to quench that thirst. A politicians purpose is to think for us, even if we disagree with him/her. a murderers purpose is to do just that, because he will give purpose to the police or the investigator attempting to put him behind bars.

without each other, sadly, purpose wouldn't exist. we feed off one another, in some small or major way. think about it. you don't wake up without another intersecting you in some way, criss-crossing purpose.

here, some read stories to feed their purpose for a lifestyle they wish they had, or cannot have. their purpose is to achieve this lifestyle somewhere, in their imagination it works best, the writers here assist them in that. Just a theory, or example, i have.

Purpose probably has sub categories. Maybe for you, getting your Masters in psych is the main purpose of this portion of your life. However, under that stems roots to other things, getting a good boyfriend, making money, where will you vacation for the summer, all of that, all of those things you want to achieve (rewards) come from the key purpose in your life, getting your masters, So, during and once you achieved that, you get the rest below, all easily showing that the act of having purpose, gets you places and things. Cause lets not bullshit each other everyone and anything wants something, maybe something better than they already have.

if you don't have it, you'll just end up like no-one in particular. that is just my idea, i might of contradicted myself a couple times, but idc. i have purpose lol
