Bully and a Black Eye

This is absolutely crazy. My eight year old grandson is sporting a black eye. "real black eye" His eye is almost swollen shut, and black puffiness below. He was defending the same little boy from a few weeks ago. The teachers told my daughter that they were looking into it. The little guy Kyle defended is very young and naïve. What is going on here? Kyle's teacher told my daughter that the bully hit the younger child and Kyle jumped up and punched the other boy in the face, resulting Kyle with a black eye. Someone open their damn eyes. This bully is prominent! He's known for harming other kids. Kyle is not hurt to the point of seeing a doctor, but he's wondering why the "bully" is not being punished. This "bully" is the one that calls him and the little guy he was punishing a "fag". Kyle is still furious. He told my daughter that the child's parents came to get the child from school, from the principle's office, and the dad patted this child on the back. Screw that! People are nuts.

Of course now, we are to the, "don't be like them", phase. But, you can't discipline a child for taking up for another, even tho he gets in trouble. Where are the lines drawn? I'm fed up. Kyle is one of the most compassionate, respectful kids I know. Not because he is my grandson, but he has been raised to respect others. I'm not at a loss, but at a standstill here. I wonder what the damn school would think if "Nana" came and talked to them. Sheesh!

Nana is fierce!! Kyle is lucky to have you on his side.  You need evidence, secret cameras, and witnesses, I think Rustle is also right about a lawyer. Overboard but I feel your frustration.

The best thing about this is that you support Kyle and he knows he can talk to you and his mum.  That's really important.  Keep strong!!

Kyle did a good thing as far as I'm concerned. Does he know that he has supporters on the web? Lol

Seriously though, the school doesn't have any anti-bullying programs, at all? If not, then threat of lawyers may be needed to start a fire under their asses.

It seems that the bullys parents are the ones at fought if they cant see what he is doing to other kids . You must be a very proud mum the way yor daughter is bringing up Kyle and a very proud grandmother as well . It must be hard for Kyle because the bully doesn't get punished . And good on Kyle for sticking up for the smaller kid

It all comes from the parents and elders.

The kid must be getting it from somewhere, and yeah he should be punished some how.

Kyle may have come out a little bruised, but he came out the better person too. As long as you and his parents keep standing with him he will be a fine young man. When my daughter was young she stood up for a smaller child being bullied and ended up suspended for a day due to a zero tollerance policy for violence. The same punishment the bully was given! I used the day to take her out and have a great time.
