Did I Ever Mention To You All That I Let Two Homeless Guys Stay Over Winter?

I realized while answering Method's blog that I never told you guys the story of last Winter's guests. Last year during the worst Blizzard in the history of New England, I let two homeless guys stay in my house. The first question in your mind maybe, Is WL crazy? Then, the second question, Were they hot? :P

To answer your questions, No, I am quite sane if a bit soft hearted. As for hotness, one was around my age with a cute/shy demeanor and another was in his 50's who kept saying thank you every so often. I did not exchange sex for board or anything crazy like that, but they wanted to help out around the house, so I got my porch repainted, snow shoveled, and a new screen on my door put in, which I paid them for materials and some extra for cost.

When the spring came, they moved out and last I heard they got some temp jobs as painters.

No I am not Bill W. or any of you other guys who write about taking in homeless gay teens, I haven't seen that many in Boston to be honest, which either means we're really good with accepting gay teens or they were all taken in by gay couples long before I came around, too bad I don't have inspiration to write those stories :(

I am a hard nosed Conservative, but I am not above charity or caring for my fellow man. I didn't even think about posting this on my blog until now, I really didn't think much of it. They were good guys, who just got bad deals in life.

The Golden Rule at work...

If all conservites thought/felt/acted like you, there would be little need for liberals.

I'm not Mother Theresa, I just did what I thought was right versus letting two people freeze to death in 3 feet of snow

And that's what we all should do too!

Given time, a drip can carve a mountain.

Hear that, WL? You're a drip.

Seriously, I'm impressed, but not totally surprised.

I wish more folks did what they thought was right.

My brother and his family live near Boston so I remember from their updates, how severe the winter was.

Thank you for helping those two men. I'm sure they appreciated your kindness and generosity beyond measure.

You must be one of those 'points of light' that Bush the 1st used to talk about.

Helping others is a good thing, but helping Needy is Great. I appreciate that and I Love You for doing such a great thing... :)

Taking in people was very selfless.

Now, I am doubting my slightly left of center tendencies.

I am way too skeptical and untrusting to let strangers in my home.

You are a wonderful, kind person who did a good deed.

I applaud you.

Thank you for helping in this tragic problem in America.

Having been thru my own period of homelessness in 2011, I know how much these men appreciated the help you provided in their time of need.

Thank you, again.
