Target's Only Plus-Size Male Model Strikes A Bull's Eye For Body Positivity

Found this feel good story about a male plus size model showing that beauty doesn't have to come in just one size!

Target's Only Male Plus-Size Model Strikes A Bull's Eyes for Body Positivity

Pretty cool story. I mean, I grew up with that whole Abercrombie and Fitch aesthetic being pushed, and it's cool to see guys who don't fit that mold still being held up as being attractive.

I do have to hand it to Zach Miko for refusing to fit into conventional beauty standards and just being like, "This is me, I won't become a gym rat" and still being damned attractive. (In my opinion.)

About time the issue of expectations on the male form is addressed too! I must confess that for a long time, I actually thought guys just looked like models... Stupid, I know, but since they had muscles and wasn't (usually) thin to the point if breaking in half, I didn't realise the amount of body discipline that went into looking like that. Now, I know better. Still, there is hardly any debate on this (or other issues concerning the male gender role). More discussion on what defines a man would be welcome, at least in my opinion.

He's a good looking guy.

I'm naturally scrawny and he's my type, big and comfy. Frankly I think there are more important things to worry about in the world than your looks or body type. How about personality, kindness, capacity to love and other meaningless things??

Silly I know, but that what I think.

Yep, he IS good-looking. Great face, and he looks great in a beard.

Growing up, I always wanted to look like a twink model, and it was never gonna happen. I got something even better - a man who loves me as I am. And Saturday makes twenty five years together.

There ARE those who value other things.

Unfortunately body image is a societal problem. Either you're too thick, too short, too dark, too thin, or too heavy. Ageism, racism, sexism, who gives a damism. lol Life is too short to be concerned about what is considered beautiful. Whether you're thick lipped, thin lipped, have a big behind, or a flat behind, it is always something. You can have dark skin, light skin, kinky hair, or straight hair, who really gives a damn, because we're all beautiful. I agree with Mikiesboy, there are more important things to worry about than looks.

Like the Temptations sang, "Beauty's only skin deep." Besides...there is nothing wrong with a little meat on the bone. This is especially true on cold winter nights, when you need that extra heat to keep you warm. lol Nobody gives hugs like a man who can surround you with his warmth. So to all the plus size boys..."Go on with your bad selves!"

RJ maybe if we keep telling each other, that we love you as you are, it'll spread... as you say... go on with your bad selves!!!
