Summer Break 2018

Wow, with summer here in the Northern Hemisphere, we are definitely seeing a drop in people online.   Even I'm getting more sun.

I'm going to cut back on the number of blogs I'm doing for now and pick up again in the fall.  It'll give me more time to do these silly summer homeowner things I'm suddenly stuck with. lol.

Yes. Been helping around my Uncle's place with those Summer Projects. I've found that even after you finish one, two or three more get added to the list. May your summer be free of stress, and may you have time to get all your projects done.

I hear ya.  So far I've spent the summer deep cleaning my house, getting rid of 80% of my stuff, and redoing the downstairs.  And I've only just started.  Sigh.

Oh my.  I'm renovating 1550 square feet in the barn for my projects.  (The house is only 1300 sq ft, for the record)

and by renovating, that means removing old stuff down to the studs and in one area, replacing even the studs and floorboards, wiring, insulation, sheetrock.  It's going to be a long project.

I like stuff and tend to hold onto too much of it.  Consequently, I ended up with more stuff than space.  I'm a single person in a 1300 sq ft house, so it's a bit silly to not have room for anything.  It feels great to be able to fit everything into my closets now.  I need to get some estimates to have my bathroom redone and for new windows.  Then I need to have my siding restained, the foundation filled in (minor repair... not as major as it sounds), and repaint the inside.  Oh and my front door needs refinishing.  The last week of July I have a friend visiting for a week and we're going to tackle my model horse collection.  That's something else that's grown out of control.  So I'll be selling off quite a bit of that so I can actually display it, plus have some money toward funding all this work.  Sounds like we both have some long projects :) Your barn is going to be fantastic when it's done.  It's already an impressive space.  :)

For the National Cherry Festival, we get 500,000 tourists crammed into a town that hardly exceeds 15,000 pop. One of the line cooks at Swiches Deli suddenly went on maternity leave, so we got absolutely SLAMMED. I suddenly went from working part-time, to almost full-time. I'd go home every evening, and I'd be so tired I couldn't be bothered to check on here. :puke: Fortunately, it's over, now. :) The Fudgies have (mostly) gone home! :D
