malediction 0 Posted March 21, 2006 aww i hope you dont get yet another cold dom. drink lots of o.j. and take some zinc suppliments, that should help. as far as chapter 7 goes, it was a bit different from your usual style but it certainly didn't suck so don't stress about it. i am loving the story so far btw.
Guest djd Posted March 21, 2006 First things first: Chapter 7 was great! Milo is the first boy that Nels has ever kissed, so the sex is not going to be all that fancy... yet. Now, about that cold... I have 5 words for you: Zicam No-drip Liquid Nasal Gel. This stuff really works. Use it as directed when the cold symptoms first hit. I remember someone had recommend the Cold-Eeze lozenges when you complained about charmingly mentioned your last cold. They also work (same active ingredient: Zinc glyconate), but prolonged use makes my tongue feel as if it was being etched by acid. I've tried all of the other remedies, including megadosing vitamin C, and the only effective cold relief I've found is the stuff based on zinc glyconate, particularly the Zicam. Hope you're feeling better soon. Dennis According to clinical trials, zinc glyconate, which is a zinc-based compound (don't ask me of what... chemistry class was in the last century) is an effective cold remedy. Elemental zinc (found in zinc supplements) is less effective on colds, but very beneficial for control of diarrheal disease.
AFriendlyFace 191 Posted March 21, 2006 Awww only 18 chapters for WT **encourages one of the charactes to grab Dom's butt** I'm sure we'll love every chapter though, and you do know best Take care and have an awesome day, I hope you feel better. Kevin
Camy 57 Posted March 21, 2006 Prison Break is showing in the UK at the moment, and I haven't watched any of it, so I don't have a clue about the story line (even though the trailers are getting more and more compulsive viewing). So how can a Prison Break have a second season? Either you escape or you don't... Unless it's like 24. The first 'season' was excellent, the second slightly more far fetched (Nuclear weapon explodes)and was where I stopped watching. Surely people know Jack is trustworthy by now, and yet he's perpetually the bad guy: Until he saves the day AGAIN. Odd. I love WT btw, and chapter seven rawked! Don't think otherwise. Camy
Danny 0 Posted March 21, 2006 18 chapters? **sigh** I really thought this would turn out to be another TLW/DD where it exceeds 30 chapters! Oh well, it's already proven to be a Dom classic. Keep on chugging mr. domluka!
MrGreycoat 0 Posted March 21, 2006 I've been watchin Prison Break since it started and it frustrates me to NO END. I am not exaggerating when I say that everything that can go wrong in that series, does. >.< More than once I've been tempted to throw things at my TV out of sheer frustaration and anger...I still watch it though, cause I loves me some Marshall Allman:
LittleBuddhaTW 705 Posted March 21, 2006 Definitely drink lots of O.J. ... the best way to nip a cold in the bud when it's just getting started is to overflow your system with Vitamin C (my mom's a pharmacist, so trust me! hehe) As for the "only 18 chapters" of WT, I have to admit that I'm a wee bit disappointed ... I could definitely see it ending up as long as DD ... but I'm sure no matter how long it is, it will still be excellent, as usual. As for the "sex" in Ch. 7 (which wasn't really sex, IMO), I thought it was one of your best sex scenes yet ... extremely erotic ... actually, Chs. 6 & 7 seemed like one long kiss scene, and it was definitely the hottest description of kissing I've ever read. I've certainly never experienced a kiss like that! So I think I'm gonna call up this cute 18 y/o Taiwanese boy I know (who I haven't seen in months), and get him to come over and practice some Nels/Milo-style kissing with me ... *blush* Take care of yourself, stud ... you're the greatest!
NaperVic 161 Posted March 21, 2006 I have to agree with David(littleBuddhaTW), I thought that the sex was some of your best sex yet . Or maybe I'm just happy and was pleasantly surprised that it didn't take 20 chapters of foreplay to get to it . Regarding Prison Break...two words, Wentworth Miller yikes is he a hottie. He's the only reason I watch the show Take Care®, Vic
C James 17,116 Posted March 21, 2006 I sure hope you don't listen to your friend! Was the sex in WT different from the usual style? IMHO, yes: In the same way a Rolls Royce is different from an old clunker! It was great! Frankly, I often find myself bored by the sex scenes in other stories, but this one was very hot IMHO. I hope you don't change.
dkstories 17,545 Posted March 21, 2006 Since everyone's giving advice on how to get over a cold... sit in front of the computer and write, write, write. Write till your fingers are falling off. Trust me, it works on colds.
MayaMys 0 Posted March 21, 2006 Very much like C James, I also get bored by sex scenes most of the time, but I have to admit, this one kept me interested. Only 18 chapters? I'm conflicted between "This story isn't going to keep me on the edge for too long!" "Aww, shucks, I really like this one, I don't want it to end." You know what it means, Dom? You'll have to start a new story in a little more then a month. Why? Because you always release something along the lines of 2 chapters a week (I constantly thank god for that), and you always have at least one story going. And I'm not saying you'll have to do that, but that's what we all want and expect. TV....what's that again? I tend to avoid TV, mostly because I might miss a chapter of DD or WT getting uploaded, while watching a show.
Lucy Kemnitzer 0 Posted March 21, 2006 One of the things I like about the way you write sex scenes is that they are consistent with the characters. Inexperienced adolescents, especially conflicted ones, should not act out a porn movie (or if they do, it ought to be humorous). Anyway, as far as hotness goes, well -- on the one hand,. you never know what other people will react to(*), and on the other hand, what's hot is what's engaging, what pulls the reader in and makes them feel the characters' feelings. Another thing I like is the way that these scenes advance the story. Milo is perfect in this scene, in every way. We're beginning to get a handle on just what those scowls really mean (not hostility: consternation, more like). And the relationship between these two kids has definitely become that much more interesting. It's natural for people who have enjoyed a particular aspect of your writing to want more of it, and to sometimes be somewhat disappointed when they encounter something different where they were expecting it. Just nod and smile and say "maybe I'll do that again sometime later, where it fits better."
acassimaty 0 Posted March 22, 2006 I have to say I get bored with sex scenes too. I'm currently re-reading through The Lo(n)g Way, and I didn't remember it having so much sex in it lol. But I spose after TOU and DD, any story would probably have more sex in it... Anyway, I didn't find anything wrong with the way the "kissing" was written in WT. I found that it fitted with the different tone of this story. And I completely agree with you on Prison Break. That was mean where they left it lol. But it could have been worse - that could have where they ended it three months ago...
dkstories 17,545 Posted March 22, 2006 Don't talk about cruel endings and long waits to any battlestar galactica fans... Oh crap, now you've done. You've got me thinking about that season ending...time to go kill characters
acassimaty 0 Posted March 22, 2006 Don't talk about cruel endings and long waits to any battlestar galactica fans... Oh crap, now you've done. You've got me thinking about that season ending...time to go kill characters Haha, well yeah. I spose nothing compares to the Battlestar kind of cliffhangers... Except maybe Dom's...
TheJuggler 0 Posted March 23, 2006 The whole story is differant from your usual style, in some ways. About the sex: believe me, it was hot. It was far from being sucky. Can't wait for more. I mean, part of that is because we've been wanting this to happen since around chapter two, so you've had lots of build up. But really, don't worry about it being badly written. Sorry you're feeling under the weather, I did that whole thing a couple weeks ago and it wasn't fun... I'll selfishly hope this lets you get more writing done. But still, feel better! I'm curious, if you're already working on 10, are 8 and 9 finished? Do you have a plan for when to release them? Hmm...
TheJuggler 0 Posted March 23, 2006 Since everyone's giving advice on how to get over a cold... sit in front of the computer and write, write, write. Write till your fingers are falling off. Trust me, it works on colds. Hah! Good thinking. ;-)

You've got me thinking about that season ending...time to go kill characters Oh, no! He's going to kill Davey!!! (again!) Or maybe a new bloodbath in Service (Vampire Jarrod 2).
Philistine 1 Posted March 27, 2006 Don't talk about cruel endings and long waits to any battlestar galactica fans... Oh crap, now you've done. You've got me thinking about that season ending...time to go kill characters why?! why did you have to remind me?! you suck. i hate you. only i love you, cuz of your stories. dammit, why do i have to be a whore for gay fiction. i'm gonna go cry myself to sleep now. btw, dom. i thought your sex scene was awesome. don't let those nay-sayers get you down. or those cold viruses. nothing is allowed to make you feel bad. i have spoken.
