Diabolus ex Nihilo

Fae Briona

Stayed home today to, as the boss said, try to "reset" myself.  Work has been stressful recently, but it always is this time of year; just seems extra stressful this year. I know part of that of loss -- of my love, of my aunt -- and part of that the weather, which has been keeping my pain level much higher than normal. Consistent high pain makes it difficult to deal with the stress and increases my depression; increased depression makes it harder to deal with the pain; and soon I'm "circling the drain" so to speak. I know my coworkers are concerned about me.

it's hard to know which emoji to use on this, the sad face that you aren't well, the love face for the good boss who knows that you need a reset day, the thumbs up that i read and acknowledge this
on one side, stressful offices seem to abound these days, i can empathize with that
another side of this, i'm sorry that your pain is greater, and understand about the spiraling effect that has on the rest of your whole being
and lastly, how wonderful to have such a compassionate boss, and caring co-workers. many aren't that lucky
hopefully, a long weekend of rest, and self care will have you feeling more yourself soon

Tried to keep busy this weekend. Think I'm in a much better place mentally now than I was at the end of the day on Thursday.  Will try to keep that going once work starts in the morning.
