The origin is in the Latin languidus, meaning faint or weak.

Although the holidays can be a wonderful time, you can become languid afterward due to physical, emotional, and mental exhaustion.

After taking my 95 and 88-year-old Aunties Christmas shopping, I'm a little further along than languid.
