Sometimes it is best that something has a semelparous nature, or less.

Semelparous comes from the Latin: semel (single) and pario (to beget).  It's an interesting concept, just not one I want to be part of.  😎

This derived from the Latin words semel (once) and parere (to give birth to).

Frankly,  it's difficult to see how some manage to reproduce without copious amounts of drugs and alcohol.

Love is blind and love is in the eye of the beholder?

As a retired teacher I can honestly say that one time is enough.  I loved all the kids kids I taught, but some parents should be neutered after their first!

You'd revise the timetable if you'd ever met the Johnson's.

I almost said before the kids are born, but then it would be like wishing some of my students were not born.  I don't want to do that, but do hope that these kids don't inherit the ideas and attitudes of their parents.  Most teachers hope that these kids will turn out better than their parents.  Hopefully the nurturing of other adults in their lives will overcome the nature of their parents.

Alas, too late for the Johnson's.
