When I see the word jade, the first thing I think of is the jade Buddha.   The next thing I think of is the word jaded, which describes a person who's bored, tired or lacks enthusiasm because they have a negative outlook due to past experience - in other words, they've lost interest.

In Middle English it was a broken down horse. It can also mean a disreputable woman.

Jade is prized for luck in the Orient, but sucks as a name. You'd want an enemy to curse a child with a name like Jade. It's as lucky as Lucky. Lucky usually ends up the dog with three legs.
