Wow... there's a lot in there.

I think that any parent who rejects their child for simply being what they are... whether that is becuase they are gay, or because they they don't want to take the life path mapped out for them, or any other reason... is not just wrong but sad. If you are incapable of giving unconditional love to your children then you are not going to get it back and that's the saddest thing for a parent.

I agree with you about the respect/approval thing. You can totally respect something without approving of it and vice versa.

Can't really comment on American politics or baseball because I am not American and have no idea about baseball. Made me smile anyway :)

I'm lovin' this stream of conscious typing you had goin' on. ;) I'll try to hit on a coupla points you made.

Too bad about your dorm, mine was the same way freshman/sophomore year, but I'm off campus with an apartment now, and it's much quieter. My roommate's kinda rowdy sometimes though, so I'm not always so lucky when all I want is some peace and time to myself.

You should be flattered people hit on you. Better than the alternative wouldn't you say? But like you said, unfortunately, you are taken...(damn it... ;) )

I do not agree with parents kicking out their children solely on the basis of their sexuality. I understand, especially for religiously affiliated families, that homosexuality is not desired, but I would have thought a parent's love for his/her child would rise above social stigma. But what can you do? You can't educate those who refuse to accept a fairer understanding. However, it is illegal to abandon your child as a minor, so if one anticipates a disowning, he/she should work hard, try to get into college on scholarship, and start a new life. It's absolutely doable. My parents are prime examples. Not that they got kicked out...immigration was the game.

Yes, respect and approval can be separate. Many 'approve' of the gay lifestyle but obviously hold no respect. I have friends who disapprove of homosexuality, but they respect all openly gay individual as much as possible.

The economy is recovering, although many major companies are still on the verge of bankruptcy. The DOW is steadily rising (much to my parent's relief), mortgage rates are low in most areas, and gas prices are stable. Let's also not forget about Obama's Stimulus package and the near 0% short-term interest rate of the fed. It'll interesting to keep an eye out for more changes this year. My parents are looking forward to pay-raises again, and I have a CD that's maturing at the end of the year.

There is a long discussion I could lead about Republicans/Democrats but that is for another day.

As far as the miserable Clemson fan...I can certainly understand his emotions. How do you think Texas felt when Texas Tech stole that win from us last year? Lots of crying fans all around. Oh and Remember the infamous Oklahoma band girl who bawled her eyes out after the Red River Shootout last year? But in all honesty, the guy needs to suck it up. It's only Clemson, why's he getting that upset? ;)

Sorry, I don't keep up with Baseball so much, so I don't got nothin to add about that.

The Giants beat the Cowboys on Sunday, causing grief and stirring more hatred throughout the entire city of Dallas. Romo basically gave away the game. I've never liked the guy, he could never perform under pressure. Besides, Manning is kinda hot. ;)

I think that about wraps this up. Did I hit all the major points? Regardless, I'm going to bed.
