Well, I saw the first episode. The main character is really hot. There's lots of violence and a good story line. My one complaint is too many naked chicks and guys nailing them, which is SO unnatural.

The show does seem like its gonna be pretty good. But, its coming off very 300 to me which isnt all bad. I was just kinda hoping for something a tad more original but, we'll see.

Rome - enough said

As much as I hate to agree with Chase, Rome on HBO was an incredibly good series. One that I have watched many many times over again. And it stayed fairly close to the actual history.

Go rent it! It's awesome! The constant sex and naked girls does get a bit annoying sometimes, but the story is great!

I missed the Premier of Blood and Sand here but I'm hoping i can catch it on demand. I've always been facinated by Ancient Rome/Greece....expecially the Gladiators.wub.giflmaosmiley.gif

This show is starting to get really good. Besides all the gore fighting action. Its pretty much just a bunch of hot guys running around in briefs and sheets. Not to mention there hot!

I haven't seen it yet, but anyone who has netflix with instant watch can watch the series as the episodes come out. So, I'll be checking that out a little bit later.

Well, it's definitely worth checking out. I will have to watch last night's episode some other time when it's on.

So I finally watched a couple of episodes and at first I was, like, meh. Then I saw Andy Whitfield's sex scenes and suddenly the poor production kind of faded into the background (he is sooo gorgeous). The second episode picked up a bit, but the nude Lucy Lawless picked it up for me, again.

But seriously, it's a cool show and it's right up my alley. I'm a fan of sensuality and ultra-violence. I feel like I have to hide it from my grandparents because the blood and nudity might upset them a bit, especially the full-frontal. It makes me smile, though.

It's a little over the top, but a little camp never hurt anyone.

It seems to be getting better.. the gore isn't something I'm too fond of, but I know it has to be part of the story.. haha, the female characters are actually pushing the show at the moment.. :P

The language needs to be cleaned up a lot.. they probably didn't go around saying the "f-word"...

and various c-words...and s-words, pretty much every word that I'm not supposed to say, but I do. It's not shocking as much as it's just ridiculous. They need new words or writers that aren't drunken frat boys.

Well, I think this thread is in need of revival. Did anyone see the season finale? I was like holy shit. Anyway, I have a thought or two about the language. While there are some historical inaccuracies in Spartacus: Blood and Sand, there is no indication whatsoever that the portrayal of people talking in such a manner is inaccurate. Times have changed a great deal since then. We forget that the show is set in the first century BCE, which means it was long before the Roman Empire adopted Christianity. Moreover, the Roman Empire changed a great deal when Christianity became the state religion. Cursing was not exactly frowned upon before then.
