They've faced down humans time and time again, but Fred Phelps and his minions from the Westboro Baptist Church were not ready for the cosplay action that awaited them today at Comic-Con. After all, who can win against a counter protest that includes robots, magical anime girls, Trekkies, Jedi and...kittens?

 

Unbeknownst to the dastardly fanatics of the Westboro Baptist Church, the good folks of San Diego's Comic-Con were prepared for their arrival with their own special brand of superhuman counter protesting chanting "WHAT DO WE WANT" "GAY SEX" "WHEN DO WE WANT IT" "NOW!" while brandishing ironic (and some sincere) signs. Simply stated: The eclectic assembly of nerdom's finest stood and delivered.

Oh man that brought a smile to my face.

 

But still it's always good to remember that some protesters aren't idiots like The Fred Phelps clan/cult. Yesterday there were protesters outside of Fort Monmouth holding signs like 'Honk for no war' and the like. I had some time before I had to go into work so I parked my car and went over there to chat. I was greeted by a lady who asked if I supported the war or was anti-war and when I said I don't care I only support our troops, she smiled and said thats the perfect way of thinking. I ended up talkin to her and a few others and while I disagreed with them, I have to say they we're respectful and all of them supported our troops.

Ignore him and he will go to ever more frantic and maniacal means to get attention.

 

Ignore him long enough and he'll do something over the top and he can be shut down for good.

 

You are right though. When he dies, I want to feed a goat ex-lax and tie him to Phelps tombstone so that Phelps can see what it feels like to have a dumb animal shitting all over you for no apparent reason.

I'm thinking that this new campaign of out classing him at his chosen events really pricks his bubble. He is now irrelevant - the only thing he can do is show up with larger numbers. Even that won't work very long.
