  1. CJ -- I have always loved your stories -- but, as a 75 y/o old reader I need the story to be completed before I start reading it. My memory just doesn't work the way it used to so I have a continuity issue otherwise. Trust me that I do download any posted chapters once a week while awaiting that final chapter.
  2. I can't guarantee that to be true, but am fairly sure it was not completed. He had been writing the story when the accident occurred. I just checked IOM and Dave has not marked the story as complete. The last entry on his forum thread is dated Dec.30, 2008 and was not written by Grasshopper
  3. You Might give "Just Hit Send" by Grasshopper at: http://iomfats.org/s...ed/grasshopper/ a try. Grasshopper was a young 18 yo when he wrote Just Hit Send but the content of this story is well beyond that of a 17/18 yo author. This story is complete. Hit next story "Just One Starfish" is not finished. Grasshoppers last post of this story was May 26th of 2008 Grasshopper was working on a ranch in Wyoming owned by a relative as I remember. He was closing an overhead metal door and caught his fingers between two panels and crushed them between two of the panels. Dave at IOM has said that Grasshopper had a difficult recovery from that accident and has never continued his writing. Three years later and writing this still brings tears to my eyes.
  4. The link was/is in the post and it's working
  5. James --- THAT IS AN AWESOME IDEA!!!
  6. Chapter number ONLY -- anything else can go into the chapter heading within the story. Chapter numbers are the only way of sorting files when your are downloading, waiting until the story is finished and then reading. "Storm Front" is a good example of a nonconventional format for chapter 'numbering'. I waited a very long time before jumping into that pool of jumbled mess. The downside was unfortunate, because the story itself was very enjoyable -- unfortunatly the story is still evolving.
  7. I have to agree with James on this -- including the same order. I have already been to the United Kingdom but the stay was far to short. I have also been to Prestwick, Scotland but would love to spend a few weeks there. It is a beautiful country. I fell in love with Scotland!
  8. I may be wrong, but as I remember, the original disk is needed during the recovery process -- kind of a validation thing. Certainly worth the effort though to try with another XP disk. Good luck
  9. Does anybody know what has happened to him? He was actively posting stories until Feb 25th and then they just stopped.

    EPILOGUE

GREAT JOB! I really enjoyed this story - action packed - but was left scratching my head with the ending. I'm happy to see that there will be a Book 2 and maybe a Book 3. AWESOME!!!
  11. Michael, I couldn't agree with you more. I was struck by the silence at night my first night in the mountains. Tree frogs and breezes - and or gale force winds - being the only distractions. Just wonderful!!
  12. That would have to be Tab Hunter followed by Ricky Nelson and then "little Joe" - I think was his name - on Dallas. He did a great job of packing his pants!!!
  13. I grew up in the Eastern suburbs of Cleveland Ohio but always wished I was living on a farm in the country. My wife died in 1995 and later that year went to Grand Lake Colorado for my stepsons wedding. Grand Lake is right at 8500 feet, up in the Rocky Mountains. Grand Lake at that time had an old west feeling: the main street was dirt with board walks lining the street. Six months later I was living in a, newly built home, in Grand Lake. A 35 minute drive into the Rocky Mountain Park puts me at 13,000 feet -- that time frame is from my house. Life is wonderful! Denver is a 2 1/2 hour drive with nothing more that sparse mountain living in between. My last trip to Denver was 3 years ago -- the cooler temperature at the higher altitudes dissuades any desire to have a day trip into the hellish heat of Denver during the summer, and the wild snow during the winter, is enough to abort a trip too. I have one comforter on my bed year round, even when we have an outside temperature of -40 degrees and a blizzard thrown in just for the fun of it. Over night temperatures generally range betwween 45 to 55 degrees during the summer. The next day can have a deep blue sky, the trees leaden with snow and sun giving enough heat to sweat while snow blowing the drive They did pave the main street through town a few years ago - but the board walks remain. You couldn't drag me back into the nightmarish city living.
  14. I really hate it when what I have written suddenly disappears.
