markycielo Posted May 24, 2012 Author Posted May 24, 2012 Chinese food isn't hard to cook from scratch. Well let me reword and ask a few questions. Do you cook? Do you cook often? What do you cook? Can you follow directions? Do you have a good tongue palate? What's your cooking background? I say Chinese is as hard as Italian or as easy as American crusine (< sp? too lazy to check). Why do you think it's hard? If it's a difficulty in finding ingredients from where you live... then its not really hard to cook but rather hard to find the right stuff to cook with. As someone who cooks a lot of loves food, I say Chinese is very simple. But for a non cooker, Chinese could be very hard, but I bet Italian or Mexican, etc. would be hard for those folks too. Why do you think it's hard? Maybe I can give a few tips... P.S. 誰かがアジアの人を言いましたか? or leuti hab tsuah peb? (I just gave major clues to my identity... don't tell anyone outside this forum... ) i have no idea as to the "clue" you just posted... lol what i mean from "from scratch" is having to make the noodles from flour and it can be taxing... i cook a lot of italian... and since i'm filipino... i cook a lot of mexican stuff too... i guess one thing that makes chinese food hard for me is the prep work you have to do to the ingreds... you should cook me some food... the way to my heart is definitely through my stomach... all you have to do is ask me out... lol
Ashi Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 for first dates id on't want to seem overly eager... and cooking would send that message... lol maybe it's just me... i like playing hard to get... Let's me give a little story. Once upon a time, there was this reserved boy who treated romantic love quite seriously. He met this guy at work, then they just be with each other more and more often. The co-worker one day took him to a small Mexican place for dinner; the kind some flies visit once a while, and was told not to double dip the salsa, because it's not polite for the next customers. The co-worker told him, "This is real Mexican, not place like Taco Bell." To the boy it sounded like, "This is my world, you don't have to like it." The boy wanted to tell him their worlds weren't that far apart, but he didn't. He enjoyed the dinner; perhaps a bigger surprise to the co-worker than the boy. To the shy boy, it struck him that being with someone could be this natural. As days gone by, they spent more time together. They've watched movie together, the boy didn't do anything. The boy saw the guy playing hockey (and him in jock strap in locker room...), but he didn't make a move. One day the co-worker just said to him, "I am sorry, but I am not gay." Then in the middle of confusion and hurtful feeling, the boy figured out what they had together was. It was something hard to let go of. Moral of the story, it's okay to say you like hot linguiça (he is of Portugese heritage you see...), if that's how you feel. You're not the only candy store around, so some will just shop around if your price tag is too high. Not saying you should just completely put out and start whoring..., just sayin'.... Yep, I am the cure for homosexuality.... My special ability. P.S. 誰かがアジアの人を言いましたか? or leuti hab tsuah peb? (I just gave major clues to my identity... don't tell anyone outside this forum... ) "Who spoke (about) Asian?" or something like that? I think kikimashta (inquiring/asking) might make more sense than iimashita, but then I am not native speaker. hmm... Hint to John from Mark, people! *giggles* Remember the candy analogy....

asamvav111 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 awww... Wish I was anywhere near! Then again, I have a mirror-cracking face, so It may not be the best idea! lol... no hinting there my friends... it was a general statement... anyone of you guys can just go ahead and ask me out. lol *** *** ***
markycielo Posted May 27, 2012 Author Posted May 27, 2012 awww... Wish I was anywhere near! Then again, I have a mirror-cracking face, so It may not be the best idea! i find that hard to believe ... and im not into good looking men either... my only requirement is that he be older than me... lol
asamvav111 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 Let me see... Not handsome... Check... Older... Check... Pisses of others big time... Check... Lol! The last one was not your criteria, was it? ;P So the only thing that is not compatible is probably a few couple of thousand miles in between! Oh! We are a match made in heaven! *dramatic hand gesture* I think I should move to Philippines. If all the men there are as accomodating as you are, I'll have a better chance in finding a soulmate than here in India. Watcha think? Hope I didn't 'scare' you?*snigers*
markycielo Posted May 27, 2012 Author Posted May 27, 2012 i doubt one year older qualifies to my definition of "older men"... lol... it takes more than innocent flirting to scare me off.
asamvav111 Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 i doubt one year older qualifies to my definition of "older men"... lol... it takes more than innocent flirting to scare me off. so how old are we talking about thirties/forties or fifties? Anything above would be pure gross!
markycielo Posted May 27, 2012 Author Posted May 27, 2012 (edited) lol... i'm sorta crushing on a guy here on GA and he's in his 60's... i know i'm weird... but it's me... lol so how old are we talking about thirties/forties or fifties? Anything above would be pure gross! Edited May 27, 2012 by markycielo
thephoenix Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 (edited) I'm an American-born Asian...but I'm totally 100% American in spirit, 0% in Chinese, so I don't know if I count. (actually maybe a little Canadian too.) Edited May 28, 2012 by thephoenix
John Doe Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 "Who spoke (about) Asian?" or something like that? I think kikimashta (inquiring/asking) might make more sense than iimashita, but then I am not native speaker. "Did someone say Asians?" iimashita denotes someone else saying "something" or in easier context it means "to say/said." Kikimashita is used for the context of a question (or means "to hear"). Putting kikimashita would make the sentence "Did someone ask [about] Asians?" The "spoke" in your translation would imply there's the Japanese verb hanasu (話す) or hanashimashita. Using iimashita is like quoting someone else. But then again I was trying to make a Western "joke" in Japanese - the joke referencing that person who hears someone say something and they come swooping in saying, "Did someone say <insert topic>?" and then begins talking themselves... and the second part being jokes don't translate well. i have no idea as to the "clue" you just posted... lol what i mean from "from scratch" is having to make the noodles from flour and it can be taxing... i cook a lot of italian... and since i'm filipino... i cook a lot of mexican stuff too... i guess one thing that makes chinese food hard for me is the prep work you have to do to the ingreds... you should cook me some food... the way to my heart is definitely through my stomach... all you have to do is ask me out... lol Good thing you don't! My identity is safe! Oh noodles from scratch.... yeah those are way hard. No tips here. You just have to knead the dough right and not over knead it and keep spinning it so the texture is right so then it also makes the flavor right. It's a hard thing to master. Heck not even a lot of Chinese folks can do it (hence they buy prepackaged noodles "fresh" or dried). Have you seen those guys on TV where they hand toss their noodles, spinning the dough like a rope and twisting and turning and by the end voooooooila: noodles! Yeah those are hard to make. Basically what this guy does (which looks simple until you do it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzHtPyqUll0 I could cook you some food, two problems. One: you seem far away. Two, I won't ask you out. So unless you want food that has gone bad and heartbreak... I can still cook for you.

asamvav111 Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I may not be able to handle the spoiled food. The heartbreak will heal, hopefully, by someone else's loving salve. But, the nightmare of eating spoiled noodles shall forever scar my psyche. *dramatic hand gesture* and Dude, I don't judge. You like sixties, you like sixties. There isn't much I can do. Except send you batches of Viagra may be. 1

Not even remotely subtle. LOL. lol... i can handle the spoiled food... not the heartbreak... hahaha... You can draw all the pictures of an ideal soul mate all you like, the one you eventually fall for sometimes is not what you had in mind, so forget about the guy must be older than you. I had that mentality before, (though not that big of a gap in age), but that's just not the way it goes when sparks actually happens (though they're definitely more mentally mature than me). Oh..., nobody can handle heartbreak that well.... No matter how they appears on the outside. If they didn't get hurt, maybe they didn't love.... So anyways, what I am saying is, there is no obligation to buy unless you tried. Not sure if that's a nice analogy. LOL Okay, Mr. Asam, you owe me $5 for that recommendation. ;-) Just kidding. As long as you guys happy.... Edited May 29, 2012 by Ashi

asamvav111 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 hello my soon to be boyfriend who i will win over once i visit... another contender! Hmm... Not trying the jealous route, are we? And every relationship is high maintenance be it intimate or otherwise. And 'It's me... Not you' routine is too over-rated to be used still. People are lot more straight forward these days... Or not!

Ashi Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Oh gosh, the air really smells foul here. I hope it's not me.... I am pretty sure I didn't just fart.... Anyways, Mr. Asam, here is the $5 money back. Wait..., you didn't actually pay me. Doesn't matter anyways, I am pretty sure you can find someone else other than Marky.... Though seriously I think you're a little too aggressive.... I think I'll run the other way if someone does that to me.... Anyways, you'll get another chance. You're still young. Besides, the next guy might be closer to you. Long distance relationship never works anyways. And Marky.... Oh, Marky, oh Marky.... I suppose you're still young. (*sighs*) The Mark who stared at my lips all the time didn't say anything to me either, but I didn't say anything like you did to him either.... Remember the saying "assume makes an ass out of u and me." Sometimes things will just slowly die off by itself. I think Mr. Asam is hurt. It was badly done, Emma.... Badly done.
