Q: Are there any movies that you enjoy but were universally panned by critics or tanked at the box office?

I’ll start with one of mine.

Speed 2: Cruise Control

Oh god, SO many. Let's see...

Battlefield Earth. Yep. I liked it and I'm not ashamed.

All the Resident Evil movies

Dredd

John Carter

Alien vs Predator 1 and 2

Crank 2

And that's all I can think of off the top of my head. But I usually end up really liking movies that critics hate and hating a lot of the ones they like.

I loved John Carter! Even though it was cheesy as fuck.

Most of the movies I like aren't bashed by critics, but some of them I imagined the ratings to be way higher, such as the Hunger Games.

I cannot agree with John Carter, but definitely, I liked Alien vs Predator I&II. Also, The Emperor's New Groove. Totally flunked at the BO, but in my modest opinion, it's one of the best Disney toons ever.

The first two Resident Evil movies were awesome - afterwards, they grew increasingly cheesy and dumb, but I still enjoyed them nonetheless.

Also, there was a film I really loved that got really bad reviews and did very poorly at the BO, but I just can't remember which one right now o.O

i wish Les Mis 2012 be panned

the 25th Anniversary show had better singers ... who would you prefer to play Marius ... Nick Jonas or Eddie Redmayne or Michael Ball?

I think its a great honor for an american to sing on a British play; he fits the age of the character he's portraying more than eddie

Ball

I wish they use the original singers ... much like how 1776 was Broadway and made into a movie they used most of the original singers

but sorry I love the non singing version from the late 1970s

John Carter

Alien vs Predator 1 and 2

I found John Carter to be quite entertaining and original in story. Not the best film ever, but I was surprised that it did so badly.

Only seen bits of the second AvP film, but the first wasn't too bad.

The Emperor's New Groove. Totally flunked at the BO, but in my modest opinion, it's one of the best Disney toons ever.

I think I went to the cinema to see this one and I have to agree, it really was great. Gotta love Krunk.

Battleship

Now you're talkin'! Maybe it didn't have the greatest plot or best acting, but man, it was a CGI feast! :P

Okay, another one from me:

Thunderbirds

Yeah it's a little bit corny, but so was the original show... IDK. I think it was the move of turning it into a kids movie that damaged it. Still great though. ;)

Karate Kid 2010 .. is should have been called Kung Fu Kid but that wouldn't sell tickets

lol, the movie has plenty of mistakes

Smith produced the movie for his kid, its not about his kid finding his own way in the industry

Perhaps as a unspoken impression ...

its a Father and Son collaboration ... a family business ..

but for PR purposes its a go out and make a name for yourself

Smith says to his son, I'll always be #1 and you got a lot of work ahead of you

He says his son is after that and so is his daughter as they both glean at him across the dinner table

AVP2 was awful ... I not seen the other predator

oh the alien prequel ... I have mixed opinions but it does make it to this list

I didn't think too much of the Karate Kid... again, it was entertaining but nothing too special.

Haven't seen AVP2, but I did see the newer Predators film, the one with Adrien Brody. That wasn't so bad, though it was similar to the first AVP in terms of execution. Plot was original though.
