I'm impressed by your technological know-how and ingenuity.  It puts you right up there with Bill Gates and Steve Jobs.

hahahahaha! :lol: I can't take credit - when it died I did a search on the Google. I didn't believe it but, hey, the iPad was out of warranty so what did I have to lose? :P

Yeah, it's a loose ribbon cable connector to the display.

 

A less potentially damaging way to do this (rather than smacking it with a shoe) is to put a cloth on a table, and drop the iPad onto its back from about a meter above it.

Remember... Most technology issues can be fixed one of three ways:

1. Smacking it till gently until it works

2. Unplugging and plugging the power

3. Running it over and/or throwing it out a window and buying a new one

Yep! Both at work (perhaps not much of number 3!) and at home.

 

Still amazes me how many people at work call a tech out at the first sign of trouble and watch them employ step 1 or 2 ...
