So who is Supreme Commander Snoke:

 

There's a lot of conspiracy theories out there for who this guy is from Palpatine to Darth Plagueus.

 

I really like this fan theory though:

I think J.J. Abrams intends Snoke to be Snoke.

 

Who or what that is will be fleshed out some in Episode VIII, but I don't think he'll be anything we've seen before. Kind of exciting really.
