9 11 is one of those days I will never forgot. Just like November 22, 1963 and for those of us here in Minnesota the day the bridge fell. I think it is very important that the saga deals with is day. CAP had the guys watching TV the same thing we did that terrible day. Same days change the country. December 7th, November 22, and Sept 11 all changed America. We feel sadness. lose, and most of all a lack of safiety. how the family reacts to the attack is like a mirror it's how we reacted. That is the great thing about this story. It refects us. no matter what happens Mark will get it right. He always does.

Wow! Two new chapters in one day! Will has a record of not taking shit from anyone. Anyone. This chapter shows us the move up to Paly is not going to be a cake walk. He already has a friend in Noah and a new enemy. Of course, Will has turned that around before. I am surprise with Ella for two reasons. First, before this I thought she and Darius were solid, maybe that is not the case. Second, is a worse situation, her choice of friends maybe more for popularity, and status and not because they are real friends. I understand high school is different than the real world. A lot is about looks, and not character, however, Ella has a long way to go to live up to Isidore or Claire. They would never have created the situation Ella did. As usual, a chapter that raises more questions than it answers. Thanks Mark! It is good, very good to have you back, and good to have Will and Wade back too.

It is interesting to see the noose slowly tighten around Conway's neck. George plan is to force Conway and his conspirators off the ship one way or another. By offering to carry the mail to the next ports he is making sure the traitors do not cause him anymore trouble. Speaking of trouble I wonder if this up coming three way is a good idea. Even if it isn't it will be fun. Thanks again for the new chapter. It's great way to celebrate Lord Nelson's victory. (It is sad that he died at the moment of his greatest victory. However, I agree Lord Nelson would not wanted it any different.) Even though the CAP saga brought me here as a faithful reader. George has captured a piece of my heart too. What an adventure, sailing around with George it's dashing captain and his brave and sexy crew. If it was 1790's all of would be waiting to join them. At this point in life I could think of nothing better. Well maybe in bed with Wade and Matt, but that is another story.

I know Mark has been very busy, and maybe because this has been a difficult time for me personally. (forced retirement) it has seems even longer. However, now that is over and Mark is back writing. All seems better. As I reflect on the new chapter, I again see one of the great characteristics of Mark's writing, or maybe story telling, he brings many story lines and forces together. The spy and his plan to wound George and his ship, the relationship of George and his first officer, how having it remain secret is very important, and the dangers and adventures awaiting the crew. All these things and more woven into just this one chapter. Maybe rising more questions than answering them. It is great to have you back Mark. Now that I have more time I look forward to reading more of the adventure of George and his crew as they circle the world. An added thought: George has more power than a normal captain. I believe he has the power to appoint, confirm and reappoint the governor as he sees fit. What if he would keep Conway on ice until he arrivals, building the case against him and his master. Upon arrival reappoints his brother, Bertie. Has the two tired for instilling mutiny, which must to a capital offense and when London hears of this it is to late for them to act. Everything of course would be done according to English law.

People have said that some things are worth waiting off. This chapter is one of them. It is good to see George at sea again. Sailing around the world is a periless journey and without spies on board and the Spanish and the French. Thanks Mark. The last few weeks have been hard on me and this new chapter makes me smile. It is great to see how good a captain George is. I am not sure if the ship's master could just disappear but if he is convicted and hung the crew will understand this will not be tolerated. George has always been fair and cares deeply about his crew. Soon the crew will understand that before they have to fight the real enemies of the crown. Thanks again for the great chapter.

You would have thought Will's new freedom would have solved things. But just as in life, these problem don't go away. I thought that Brad's explanation of his thinking was excellent. After all the drama, all what has happen he understands Will. We haven't heard from Will directly but I think in the long run it will be good for both Will and Brad. The family need to understand what this new freedom means for all of them. On another note, Wade's inviting Will home to DC may stir up a lot more drama. I will be very interesting to see how Matt and Beau react to Wade's "Little Brother". Wade is going to be at the top of his game on this visit. Hopefully, Will and Matt can help him, navigate the troubled waters of Wade's family. Thanks again Mark. Given all the problems that have appaired in my own life the last few weeks. This chapter helped lower the stress.

The old saying is that you never miss something until you don't have it. For four plus years we have had these wonderful stories. I check my email a number of times a day to see if a new chapter is out. It reminds me how much I care about these stories, how much I miss them. How not having them makes me sad. I want to thank you again, Mark, for these stories and hope that I will see those notices of new chapters soon. They bring a lot of joy to lot of people.

I agree with you 100%. The point with Cody was unlike Wade who has Tiffany's back. Jeanine doesn't have that type of support. If I remember right a cheerleader Mom did some pretty weird things in the past. What is odd is that the win at all cost attitude is something that both Brad and Jeanine share. What is even more sad is that in business it is exceptable.
-
I remember the conversation between Brad and Jeanine a few books back. Brad wanted a relationship like JP had with Isidore. Jeanine thought of herself as hired help. Brad has a very forceful personality ( much more forceful than JP). He has tried to tone it down. I agree that it wasn't until after Tiffany found that Jeanine slept with Cody that the troubles began (Tim was 100% correct). Why has it got this bad? Jeanine's insecurity in the family (not married to Brad), Tiffany not forgiving her, Cody not stepping up as Maddy's dad (like Wade has done), and JJ playing her against Will. All these could had pushed her over the edge. Hopefully, now Will and her can rebuild their relationship, it will be much harder to do than the relationship between Brad and Will, but in the CAP world anything is possible. Look at Brad's redemption.

Marie hired Jeanine not Tonto. She was from New Jersey. I agree with Jeremy it developed sometime after Will was born. Maybe the stress of the new baby brought it on.

Will is now going to have to weigh his actions. If he is an adult he must act like an adult. He will sink or swim. With all that said, I am shocked at Brad's reaction. He seems to have transformed again. I had all but given up on him. Even saying he and Robbie should die in 9 11. Now after this I am sorry I wanted them died. I am sure Will is going to have problems along the way. More Drama, but he is made of strong stock. As for Brad and Will, I agree completely when you take the control out of the picture, their relationship can return to normal. The healing can begin and the love between them can show itself. I wonder if you may have changed this chapter, maybe there was a different outcome before revision?
-
Honestly, I am shocked. I didn't expect Brad to agree. I thought Brad was lost. His need to control was greater than his love for Will. I can't tell you how happy I am that I was wrong. This is the Brad I've grown to love and care about. The guy willing to give his life for his son. Great job!! Now the healing can begin.
-
I am not sure if this is the form to bring this concern, but seeing that Brad is considered by many unredeemable, the thought came to mind that Brad and maybe Robbie could be at the WTC or on the place which hit one of the buildings that day. It would bring a great deal of drama. The reason for both of them on the plane or in the building is that I can't see Robbie doing well, without Brad. It would be a blessing in someways that both of them died together.
-
I agree with both of you. More than anyone Will misses that close relationship with Brad. Brad has Robbie, but Will has or had Brad. Emancipation will only make Will more lonely. It won't heal the rift. It may make it even worse. It makes you want to shake both Brad and Will to show them what is happening. Why do we care so much about these two fictious characters? Even those who have opposite viewpoints still agree and share a passion about this story. Why? Maybe it's not the characters, Will or Brad but the relationship between fathers and sons. That bond which starts at birth and death can only break. A bond which all of us have had in one form or another. It is something we can all relate too. That is the reason the passions are so strong and our feelings so intense.
-
In one sense we as readers are flying blind. We can see into the minds of Will and Wade but not Brad. We can only guess what he is thinking. Maybe he needs to tell us why things have gotten out of hand.

Jeff's birthday was the day after Stef and Brad first met him. Which was sometime in 1999. Just checked, Jeff was 18, Nov 19,1999.
-
That is the precise reason Brad will lose.

I think this chapter is like ground breaking for the future. I'm still not certain if Will should have total freedom. I would agree he should have a guardian, maybe JP or Claire. It was also interesting to see the actions of Darius and Matt. Matt is kind of like Brad in that it takes him time to work things through. Darius being closed down by both Isidore and Claire must have been a blow. I never understood that Brad governs by bullying. The louder you talk the more pressure you put on your son. I think it would be good Will to be on a team. Helps him work with others. As for polo, it is the sport of kings, maybe another good choice for Prince William.
-
Thank you Westie. I do not believe anyone could have said it better. I am glad I don't have to live in the world Tim seems too. I am also glad others seem to believe that too. We've come to a point in this story than will decide if Brad is right or very wrong. Either way it makes me sad very sad, whether you believe Will is a spoiled kid or that he has been forced into some of his over the top behavior. What has happened to the relationship between this father and this son? It should never happen but it has. It is now Mark's job to pick up the pieces and restore what seems broken beyond repair. Good luck with that Mark!

Maybe that's a good thing.

I never argue with a goddess. It is just not wise.

The problem with Wally and Clara is a big one, Zach. I think the best place is still JP or Claire. Claire has her hands full with Ella. Will and Darius are having problems too. So that is the problem with Claire's. Also would Will want to move to Ohio? If Will and Brad are to rebuild their relationship they need some time together in a neutral place. Brad comes up to Paly a few days a week so that would work. I like Claire's but for Darius. Jack and Claire's would be even more neutral. JP and Brad are more at odds. Battle of wills. Or maybe battle over Will. Sorry I had to say that. I guess Claire's would be the best. She can keep Will in line and still give him some freedom. My vote is that Claire is given guardianship over Will until Will and Brad can work things out.
-
I voted yes,(it took me awhile to decide how to vote) but I am hoping something short of emancipation can be worked out. I think, however, Will would learn how hard a job being a parent even if it is only parenting himself.
