My respect for Wade has only increased over the last chapters. Not only has he found a way to honor his uncle but also help the homeless gay kids in DC. If that was not enough, he maybe the only person who can stop the war between Brad and Will. This conflict could destroy the family. Each member taking sides. Sadly, it could come to that. Long ago Isidore and Jim ( JP's brother) had a problems which could have broken the family. JP and Stef stepped in and healed it. Now the situation between Will and Brad could cause even a deeper break. I don't understand why all these smart people can't see it. The person I am most surprised with is Robbie. Brad is much more hard headed than Robbie. I think Stef was right in calling Brad out on this. Maybe just maybe Wade and JP can finish the job before the relationship between Will and Brad is gone forever. Again Mark, you have given us a outstanding chapter. Not only a wonderful story but something to think about in our own lives.

Just a aside, I think this story maybe more than any other has brought out different views of parenting. Both my parent were older than most of my classmates. I also grew up in a very religious household. I would never have thought of doing most of the things Brad, Robbie or Will have done. I relate maybe more to JP. I guess I find it very interesting the more conservative viewpoints from most people who I would not think would be conservative at all. I guess I have grown to like Will a lot and think Brad and Robbie arn't doing a very good job of parenting. Also remember Will called both Brad and Robbie both twice. So it was not just one missed call but a number of missed calls. I am awaiting a new chapter as this saga goings on. Thanks Mark for the best story I have ever read any where.

The chapter has so many aspects to it. It is sad that Gathan got hurt but maybe because of that Kristin and him will work things out. There is nothing to bring a couple together more than spending time in a hospital. I think they are meant to be together. Soul mates? As for Wade and the battle with his mother, I am thinking that his is going to rehap those properties. It he does that first. they will be worth a lot more than 24.8 million. Second, he will do a lot for the people who live in those buildings and the neighborhoods. WIN WIN. Something I can see Wade doing. And lets face it will make his mother look bad. I think Wade can play this game better than she does. Then we get to Will and his parents if you can call them parents. Robbie could have been a intercessor and help bring Brad and Will first to common ground and later together. Now he is part of the problem. That is so unlike him. I would agree that it may come to Stef and JP coming down hard on Brad and Robbie. What is wrong with these people? Brad and Robbie used to be loving caring people. At lest Robbie was. Brad has always been more selfish. They are going to lose Will and maybe JJ if they don't get their act together. Why can't they see that? I've reread all the past stories which deal with Brad and Robbie in high school and later in college. They weren't perfect kids far from it. Running away from home, drinking, drugs, unprotected sex not the perfect kids. Is Will that much worse? If given the opportunity would Brad not have gone to a college party? What about the pole dance? Brad was much more of a slut than Will will ever be. Robbie was almost as bad. Not to much moral ground. Is it the principle do what I say not what I have done. I as see it Brad and Robbie are unbelievebly selfish. Maybe it is time for them to grow up! Mark again you have created a great chapter and a story which lives and forces us to went more.

Will's major problem as Wade pointed out is that Will doesn't know when to stop. I think part of that is learn over the years. If we look at Brad there are times he goes too far for too long also. What is great and maddening at the dome time is that here are people who love each other maybe too much at times who can't seem to really understand each other. They always talk passed each other. In one way that is do much like real life, what happens in families all over the world. Each generation has difficulty with the next. It has been going on since the beginning of time and will until the end of time. As for Wade, Riley and Tiffany: Wade is a different person than Brad or Will. He acts after he has thought about things much more than Brad or Will do. I think Wade will be a great dad and will always be close to his son.

Over the last week or so I've been rereading The Land Whore and Be rad to compare Will's and Brad's teen years. Both were shy kids when younger and were able to overcome their shyness. Brad of course had his crazy mother who hated him Will did not. The situation that seems to relate to Will is not with Brad directly but with Robbie. If you remember, it was the time which Robbie's mother wanted to send him to Jesus School. Now I understand that Robbie was 17 and Will is 14 but the conversations are very much the same. I think the question is when does a teen like Robbie or Will became a person and not just a object. Is it 18 or 21 or does it happen at different ages for different people. I believe it is not a magic age but different for each person. Children are not slaves for parents to order around. Yes, parents must protect their children, but not hold them in bondage. Brad has morphed into a control freak. We all know this. He not only controls his children but his partner and Jeanine. Any of you who are parents know the hardest thing is letting go. It has too happen! If the parent does not let go the child's life can be damaged forever. The situation between Brad and Will is about that. We can argue about when is the time let go and how much should Brad let go. Yes Will has made some dumb decidions in the past but so did Robbie and Brad and so have most of us. He has also some good people to help him along the way. People like Wade. I trust Mark will guide Will through life as well as he is guiding his own son.

Mark, you are full of endless surprises. Honestly, I hope than Gathan can work things out. Kristen has done a brave first step. One of the best things is that Wade is there. Just as he is able to help Will and Brad understand each other I think he will be able to help Gathan too. It is one of the best things about Wade, he is there for the people he cares about. His advice is always right on and even better all the people will listen to him. Again Mark you've done it! A great chapter which so reflects the characters. I have said it before but it is true here again. When reading this chapter the reader feels like he is there by Will's side. The reader can feel the pain, joy or passion. I can close my eyes and be there. I think that is what keeps me coming back time after time. Thanks again. You make these guys real and that is a real gift. I am so glad you have chosen to share that gift with us.

The latest chapter was interesting in so many ways. Beyond the warfare between Brad and Will, you have the interaction of the family members. JP and Stef's ascent of Will's position. Matt and Wade joining the bandwagon. At the same time, however, a growing understanding that JJ and Will are not that much different. Maybe just maybe JJ is not as much of a diva as we think. Also maybe just maybe Will is not as much of a brat some of us think. Will and Ryan being there for JJ is showing a new perspective which maybe was here all along. To add to the mix is Pat. The words of Stef echo through my mind over and over. "Some things and some people are worth fighting for." At first I was very upset with Brad. However, after thinking about it the more I understand him. Brad reacted as any parent would to protect his son. We can disagree with his action but not his reason for acting. If we had a son or daughter would not try to protect them? Who would not take on their pain, their hurt, their illness? It is one of the basic tenants of being a parent. One thing is not up for dispute Brad loves Will and Will really loves Brad. That makes Stef's statement even more true. "Some things and some people are worth fighting for." and that may be a son or father or even an employee and a good friend.
-
Stef's last statement is what this chapter is all about. "Some things and some people are worth fighting for." Good words for Will a.d for us too. Will is young and passionate but as Wade said sometimes does not know when to stop. He'll learn that. I could not. E prouder of Will. Thanks Mark for a great chapter.

Growing up is not easy even for a rich kid. I have always liked Will. Maybe because he could be the improved Brad. He like so many teenagers he makes mistakes some of them are pretty big like dancing nude in a gay club. We also have to remember not long before that he was kidnapped and raped. Not only that but his father was also kidnapped. Will is not a person to suffer fools lightly. I think he got that from Brad. Just like Brad he was shy at first and then he changed into what he is. Some people think he is wild and spoiled. I can see why people would think that but standing up for yourself is a good thing in most cases. If Will would not have drawn attention to Jeanine's behavior would Brad and Robbie understood something was wrong? They must know Will and Michael don't get along. What I truly don't understand is why Brad who can make business deals in which millions of dollars could be lost but can't deal with his son. Maybe they are to much alike. I have a feeling Brad will be getting a lot of gray hair in the next few years. Will is a handful, JJ can be difficult too. I am glad Wade will be coming down to straighten things out. Only he can talk to both Brad and Will and help them see a common ground. Common ground is what both of them need. Sometimes love is not enough. It needs a reasonable person from the outside which cares about both parties too intercede. Wade.
-
Part of what Jeremy said is true. Will has not been neglected until now. Maybe because of that Will misses Brad more. If Brad was never around for him in the past Will would not miss him as much. Pat is gone and now both Brad and Robbie. That is a lot for a 14yo to handle. I understand we are seeing it from Will's viewpoint, however it still seems like a very dumb move not to tell Will about what is a important part of his life. I wonder what Brad would have done if he was in Will's place. This situation makes JP and Isidore look like the perfect parents. Why did they have Stef tell Will? Where they to afraid to tell him themselves?
-
In the 80's there was a molestation at a preschool in Orange County. Lots of cases. We also had a case here in Minnesota. When the dust had settled it was found that the D.A. and lawyers used the children's imaginations to create a situation that was not there. I do not understand why people seem to think Pat is guilty what we had no reason to believe he is. Why is it always so easy to believe the bad and not the good? Why? I understand that Brad and Robbie are afraid that Pat has done something to Will but just doing things without thinking is just as bad. I guess Brad and Robbie arn't the people I thought they were. For that I am truly sad. No one said being a parent was or is easy but it is the most important thing any person can and will do.
-
I would even begin to say what I think of offing Will. I think the failure here is not Will but Brad and Robbie. Will is 14 not 4. If someone who is as close as Pat has been to Will is suddenly gone would you not want to know. I agree that Will is demanding at times but maybe that is the only way he can get Brad's attention. I think Brad and Robbie need to think what is really important. You only have one chance with you kids. You better not blow it. Brad and Robbie should be ashamed of themselves. I am shocked that Brad and Robbie just sold Pat down the river. They didn't ask Will. They just assumed Pat did it. If Wade was here he'd give Brad a talking too. For some smart guys they handled this really bad. What happened to innocent until proven guilty. Will is right this time! Dead on right! And Brad is wrong, dead wrong! Mark you have both five stars and a like for this great chapter! Please just send someone to knock some sense into these guys.

Honestly, I used to be into the CAP saga much more than George. However after reading and rereading George's story over and over I have grown to love him just as much. Of course who wouldn't be drawn to the young handsome captain and his adventures. When I think back to the beginning of St.Vincent and all that has happened since it began I am amazed. George has been through so much many of these thing would have over whelmed most people. But George has been able to survived. When Mark used that aweful word Mutiny I could not think how that would be possible. George has always treated the officers and crew very well. He loved them as much as they loved him. Now with a new ship and some new officers and crew it maybe possible. In St Vincent there were a few times were touch and go. Mr. Roberts and others had George's back. Who has his back now?
-
I think it is always a little sad at the end of each book. Even though George has a new ship, a big and better one, and now his relationship with Caroline has been restored. It is an ending. Will the new beginning be better or just different? To think of George leaving without Winkler doesn't seem right. However I have a feeling that his new servant and his Welshman will come in very handy on the new journey. I wish George a safe trip and a much better homecoming next time. Oh by the way I hope the baby is a girl. Well thank you so much for a great tale, a true adventure! Please take care of George in the next book, he is too fun to die so young.

Wow!! I don't know if one can be proud of a fictional character but I am so proud of Wade! He was unbelieveable! Words can not express how great he was! I have always liked Wade but here he is dealing with his evil mother and not giving in not one inch! It was outstanding! Wow!! Maybe the best chapter I have ever read!! Even after reading it for the third time it still takes your breath away. What makes it even greater is how Wade treats his father. Wade has shown him that he has forgiven him. And even better Matt has shown that too!! Can the Senator control his wife? I think he can and will. This chapter is one of the best you have ever written Mark. One of the best!!!

Honesty, I have been waiting for the two meetings, the one with the King and the other with the Prince of Wales. I must say the wait was worth it. I also like the interaction between George and his father the Earl. The idea of George getting a bran new ship even of it is a long journey must bring up the blood. I feel that George is happiest at sea. Even though he misses his family he needs the adventure. Seeing Berries again and bringing him home will alsobe a treat. Again, hats off another outstanding chapter.

The problem with Mark's stories and the last few chapters in both sagas is that once a chapter is out we as readers want more and more. We are like homeless druggies needing our daily or weekly fix. If you weren't as good as you are. It would be easier. But not Mark. He only gets better and better. These stories are not only timeless but timely. Who here would not want to be the brave, dashing, handsome George Granger or the smart, rich, cute Wade Danfield. Even on the worst of days, they are strong and fearless. Plus let us face it Wade has Matt!! I truly believe that we are blessed to have found Mark in the ocean of the web. Thank you. Thank you, Thank you Mark. Another awesome chapter. I am waiting for the next chapter of both sagas to see what happens next. All the unanswered questions. And all the answer are in that awesome mind of Mark Arbour.

This chapter seems so much like a wake. The death of the brave the glorious vessel. It is great that George's plan for him men worked out as well as they did. Some of these men came from George's first ship, some from Belvidera ,some from the French and some from the John Travis's ship I believe. Only George could mold them into the great crew they were. Still It is a feeling of sadness that surrounds me. Great but sad chapter.
-
I believe that Peter II of Russia, Catherine the Great husband had the same problem. His soldiers got him drunk and had a the operation. Shortly after that Catherine was with child. Was it Peter's child? Who knows? Not to different then this situation.

George still has no ship. Freddie and Davina need to go to the West Indies. Could George receive orders to take his brother there? That would be a very interesting voyage. The only good thing about it is that we will get to see George's Grandfather again and his hot assistant. What do you think?
-
This last chapter has brought up a few questions. I am not sure what the reactions of noblity to Davine's actions. In my mind nothing can justify her behavior. Freddie's reaction is also puzzling. Am I wrong about this? We have not gotten to know Freddie and at this point I am glad. I can see why the Earl is worried about Freddie. He should be. The Earl should be more worried about Davina. She needs major help. I believe George has to tell the Earl about this. Davina maybe carrying George's child. The Earl needs to know that. What do you think guys?
-
I wonder what place these people live in. If my wife had done this to my baby brother I would be at her throat. I can't believe Freddie's action to his wife's behavior. His wife raped his brother. This is not civilized behavior. Who cares what her problems with her husband are. Nothing justifies her actions. George's actions seem very measured much more than I would have done. At this point Freddie does not deserve to be the heir. Freddie should be thankful George is his brother. Any other person would be out for blood. I still think George should tell his father about this. If Davina does have George's child he will have too. Mark, another five star chapter. Did you get Davina name from Michael's father in Queer as Folk?
-
After the this comes out, and these things always do, Davina will be band from court and maybe from England for life. I personally would like to see her hanged drawn and quartered. That maybe little much but if she kills or attacks George or Chartley, both officers in uniform wouldn't it be the same as attacking the King? Certainly, George III would not look kindly upon her. I also can't believe the Earl would have anything to do with this. He has shown nothing but love for his son. I can't believe he would or could want him dead. Now Davina died maybe. Mark, you need to send us a new chapter soon. You can't leave George in bondage.
-
Normally I give a chapter five stars, however, this one I gave four. Not for quality of writing which was excellent but for the subject matter. Rape which this was saddens me.George is a good guy. If anyone has difficulty with that just look at the pains he is going through for his crew. After this George should have his sister-in-law sent to some small barrin island forever. George still has the trip to Windsor. What would the king do with her if he found out? She could be sent to an island in Hudson's Bay. The Earl may give up on Freddie to after this. What was she thinking? Didn't she think George would tell anyone? The only way is to kill both George and Chartley. Mark, please tell me to are not killing off George and ending the story. George was raped once as a young teen. This is not threat for a brave young officer to die.
-
As I was rereading the last chapter two things struck me. One was that both Wade and George Granger are in the same place. Both dealing with many of the same problems. Family problems mostly but now have come to the moment they are going to set things right. The second is Trevor's last name Armitage. One of the great Virginia families. One of Trevor's forebearers was at Ft Mc Henry and another lead the troops in Pickett"s Charge at Gettysburg. how cool is that!
