Normally I read the chapter more than once before commenting however, I will give it a go. It was great to see the inner thoughts of these two men. To get into their heads. To understand their feelings. I think Peter and George will be good for each other. Is Peter was telling George about his third love, I could tell it was Bertie. I am sure Bertie has not clue about how Peter feels about he. Mark, I wonderful chapter. One of those quiet but powerful ones.

I just got home and a new chapter! I've been worry about George. His whole world has fallen apart. Now he rises as much as an ancient warrior fighting a great evil. He has a plan to restore his honor and his families. To repair his life. To protect his crew. To defend his family. At first he may have been overwhelmed, but not now. With Chartley and his father the Earl, as alleys he is much stronger than even "Silly Billy". Prince William is afraid of the King. George has access to the King throught his father and through his invitation to Windsor. George is the wronged person. He's been out fighting for King and country. George III knows that and likes George. It is much harder for Prince William to visit Caroline in the country than in London. This story only gets better and better. Honestly, I can't wait for the next chapter.
-
Again another awesome chapter! I am glad that George and the Earl have begin to repear thier relationship. I think the Earl will not let George down. I can't wait for the next chapter. Caroline, however, is a puzzle. In the past she was a great player. Now she seems not to know or care what is happening. It is so unlike her. I will be interesting to see what the King will do about this. Maybe send the Prince off to India and Canada?

This chapter revealed a lot. Wade is better at this than most people thought. His dealing with the bank was brilliant. No one could have done it better. He is now in total control of a half a billion dollars. That is power. He also knows who is behind Carl. I would agree that Wade and his mother should deal will Mary Ellen. Letting out the information on Uncle Roscoe will not please Elizabeth. Watch out Mary Ellen. Your mother maybe out to get you.

George has always had three supports in his life. Ever since he went to sea, he has had his ship and crew. Now they are gone. The second is the oldest, his father the Earl. That relationship has been damaged. It maybe able to be rebuilt but George can not reley on it. Last the strongest support his wife Caroline has been shaken. George feels like a fish out of water. Normally George's life is very ordered. All of that is gone. What does the future bring? Why does the King what to see him at Winsor? What ship will he get and when? It must drive George nuts. I feel for him. I know that George is strong and brave. This maybe his greatest test so far.

I strongly believe that both Robbie and Brad love JJ a lot. Brad knows what a bad parent is, his own birth mother. He also know what a safe loving home life can do for a child. Brad is mindful of this because of his brother Billy. In some sence Billy is JP's Jeff. What if he would have done something better, would Billy still be alive? What is a easy trap to fall into. The comment was made that Will was some what like Tonto. I couldn't agree more. She was awesome person, who was not afraid to stand up for what her believed in even when it was unpopular. She defended JP against her own brother, she did her best to protect Brad against his mother. I can see a little bit of her in both Brad and Will. Maybe more so in Will. Her influence goes way beyond her life. I think of the time JP pointed out her portait in the Great Hall to Wade or the time her brought Robbie down to reunite with Brad. Countless times in so many ways she was there for her family, her friends and her home town. A grandmother or great grandmother to be proud of. I miss her too. Its to bad, Mark, we could not have said goodbye to her like we did for Marie.
-
Six months have passed since George was home. The problem would be if she was three months along. If it was less maybe the child came early? Since George didn't seem to notice I would assume it is less than 3 months. We can only hope.

Another nonconventual parent. Maybe that why Jj so attached himself to Matt in Bloodlines. Parental roles come in all kinds.
-
What does Uncle Roscoe have to do with the story? It seems at first just a detail but after reading Mark's stories for as long as I have it is much more. I am wondering if Paternity is much more than fathering a child. The physical act is simple enough, the real work starts later. Rising the child. Mentoring him or her. Loving them and being there for them. If that is the point of this story, it is playing out on so many levels. If that is true, Uncle Roscoe did have a child, Wade. In some ways this is the point of this whole saga. From beginning to the present, a nonconvental family, not joined as much by blood as by love. If that's not a lession for us all, I don't know what is.

Another outstanding chapter! I thought Sean and Wade were awesome. And then Matt holding Riley. Could Mark have written a better chapter? Wade' s uncle is a puzzle. How could Carl have known about it? Russoe seems to be every much the same person Steven was for J P. How very interesting. I ha e the feeling we have not seen the last of Carl and his family.
-
JJ has got something that will stop him becoming like that. He has a family that loves him. Two brothers who would do anything for him. As for Brad thinking of his brother Billy. I don't think a day goes pass without him thinking about Billy. That goes for Clarie, Isodore, and JP too. Families don't get over lose like that. No matter how long ago it was.

I think that Jeremy has hit the nail on the head. Over this saga, this family history, there are a few times things could have been changed. The what ifs. What if Steven would have come back from the War. What if Jeff would have been able to beat the drugs and win JP back? What if Billy would not have died in the accident? What if Greg would have not gone back to the office? All these things changed the story. Thanks to Will I think Brad and Robbie understand they need to be there more for JJ. I also think JJ is starting to understand that the family is there when he needs them. His melt down was the best thing the could have happened. While I was at work today, I had the idea rattling around in my mind. Many of you will think I am crazy but here it goes. In some ways both stories CAP and George are on the same track. JJ has lost his mother, Tiffany and has to deal with his up coming compition. George has lost his ship maybe his crew, and has to deal with his father and family. JJ has Will. George has Caroline. Both of them don't like the unknown. What do you guys think?
-
Just like the time he left the his first ship. This is sad. George has done great things with her and his valient crew. I think loss of his ship is bad but loss of both his ship and crew is going to be hard on him. Now the even harder work begins dealing with his family.
-
We have not seen JJ, nor don't really know him. Here we have a middle child, small for his age, the only parent he really knows or cares about him is out of the picture. That must be hard on him. I though he was just a diva, not knowing what he was really feeling. Now we maybe understand him better. That sweet happy child is still there. Now is the time for this family to support him. Will and Ryan have stepped up. Will Brad and Robbie? I hope so. Long ago, they lost Billy at 15. The family is still hurting from that. How much worse would it be if they lost JJ? That thought is too aweful to think about.

I found Chapter 17, when I was at work today. Every new chapter is a gift, but this one was more so. Not only an awesome chapter but one of those great moments, which pull at the heart strings. Before we get into that, isn't Jeanine's treatment and same that JP refuse to infect on Jason and Jeff? I can see how that would be hard on JJ to see the only mother he has known (even though she is not his birth mother) unresponsive. After than we see JJ melt down not with anger but with tears. It is very hard to be the middle child. When I was thinking about this I remember what Billy said to Brad after Sam left all those years ago. Billy felt all alone just as JJ. Billy was lost. I hope that JJ will not. Now all the teasing and fighting has passed and Will and Ryan are stepping up. Hopefully, Brad and Robbie will too. This family does not need to lose another son so young in life. We have not gotten to see JJ, and really only know him through the see of others. Maybe we have been much to hard in him. His skating has given something to excell in. A way of saying " Hey, guys I am here too." I wondered where the happy little kid had gone. The answer was he never left but was only hidden deep inside. Maybe JJ can be happy again.

I found CAP in Nifty so far back I can't remember. At first I was drawn to the story because of the kinky title and it was based in Ohio in which I lived for 8 years. The title bothered me because I didn't really see JP as a predator. I think one of the things that draws the reader to the saga is that almost all the characters are damaged,. They are not perfect. Maybe the only one who isn't damaged is Jack. Rape, abuse, death, rejection, AIDS and more all have made them stronger, better, more human. Even if you don't like Brad or JP you can't help but feel their pain and hopefully share in their joy. I like what Mark said about getting into the head of the character and letting them write the story. It has served him well, very well.

With this last chapter , I saw a change in Matt. Before Matt was the college jock, big man on campus totally oblivious to any thing and anyone even Wade. Now with one act, Matt holding Riley and telling Riley he will be there for him. Things have changed. I was pissed at Matt before. Now he was redeemed himself in my eyes. I must agree that relationships change over time, just as the people in them change. I do believe Wade is right, however, 20 years from now Matt and Wade will still be together. Maybe Riley will have a half brother or sister too. Of all the narrators in the saga I like Wade and Will the best. Wade has passion but balanced with a strong sense of duty. I think that what makes him so interesting. Wade maybe worried he is turning into his mother but that wouldn't happen. He isn't that selfcentered, even though he maybe reserved, he loves deeply. He would give his life gladly for Matt or Riley without even thinking. As for Carl, I don't see him as a Brian, or Carson. He will go back to home and find someone bother. He is not in the same league as Matt or Wade. If he causes any problems in the future sick JP or Wade's mother on him, That should make short work of him.
-
Again Mark has done it. He has created one of the greatest moments of the saga. It is not a moment of great drama but Matt holding Riley and telling Riley that Matt will be with him and Wade, forever. It is classic CAP saga. A simple but powerful moment. The other thing I found very interesting in this chapter was comparing Brad's relationship with Robbie to Wade's with Matt. Hayes men can be hard to live with at times but they seem to be worth all the work. Wade maybe worried that he is becaming his mother but remember Brad needed two people killed to protect his family, Wade only forced Carl out of the picture. Who is worse or better? Boyh were forced to protect their families.

I'll be willing to bet George gets to London before the rest of them. He will be able to spread the truth of the battle. Become again the golden boy. What else awaits him in London? I look forward to his reunion with the Earl and his confrontation with Freddy and his evil sister-in-law. It's easy to attach someone when they are not there. Much harder when he is standing in front of you.
-
A great chapter, the only thing that is sad is George was not in the thick of the fight. It must have hurt him to stand and watch the battle. He's not a person to stand on the sidelines. I think the battle back in London is just beginning, however.
-
Mark has done it again! Great Chapter! I think Brad's rebellion has come back to bit him. Some chapters back Mark hinted that it wasn't just Madison and Riley's paternity in question. My guess is that Ryan and Klip are related. This would explain why Ryan and his dad don't get along. Why? Abuse? or not his real dad. That is my guess.
-
Great Chapter! You can feel the tension building as the fleet prepares for battle. I'm glad you're writing this I would find it very hard creating historical fiction. All the details to get right. We are waiting like the crew for the battle to begin. Who will live and who will die?

I think the problem with JP comes from three factors: 1. He knew he was gay in a time which being gay had to be hidden. 2. The death of Steven, his friend and mentor just at the time JP needed him the most. 3. Being by nature a very shy kid. Burying all his feeling deep inside. The additional loss of so many people he loved, starting with Andre and his cousin Billy and of course Jeff Hayes. It always comes back to Jeff. He found Sam and gave up on Jeff. What one action would haunt him for all his life.

I am not sure if I would consider JP a sociopath. I have met a few sociopaths in the past and JP is not even close. I would not consider JP evil, they were. Maybe the word noble was not the correct one. I see Wade as a person who believes in standing up for what is right. Doing that is not an easy thing. In this world it is so easy to go with the flow and duck and cover. Let's check the latest poll and see what to believe. This is not Wade. He is made of sterner stuff. That maybe his background, but in my mind I find that noble. Would you consider Oscar Schindler noble? Or the people who stood up to Hitler and Joseph Mc Carthy? We don't know if Carl is evil, yet. He maybe, or he could be just a college kid, who knows. When we first met Brian did we know he was evil? People go to great lengths to protect their family or friends. Did JP go too far? Did Brad? Would Wade not go to those lengths if he was forced to? What about us, would we?

What is interesting about this story is that Wade is one of those type of people who stands up for what he believes in. And they are 100% right Riley and Matt, the most important people, followed by Brad and JP. I think that's why I believe he is most like George Granger. Noble I guess. That's not a word we use a lot whese days. Mostly because there are so few people who are nolbe in this world. I believe Wade is more than a match for his mother. She maybe the master but he is a fast learner.
