This last chapter (11) brought out a few interesting hints. What happened to Wade's uncle? Why is Tiffany so upset living at Escorial? and maybe the most important how is Elizabeth Danfield going to react to Wade's ulimatium? As always with Mark some important fact is lurking around in the background. And then there is Carl. Just a innocent college kid or more? If Wade does get his money, he has a great deal of power. As Stef always says money is power. I think Wade will use it if he has too. Look out Carl and anyone who maybe behind him.

Elizabeth Danfield will not give put up so easy. A while back Mark dropped a hint that it was not Rily's paternity only in question. It seems to me that the only way Elizabeth could stop the transfer is if Wade was not her son or not really a Danfield. Could Elizabeth have had sex with her brother? The brother who died. If that is true she could force Wade to stop his lawsuit be saying she would release the trust after graduation. If he did not he'd lose the whole trust. Half a billion dollars is a lot of motivation. Wade does have the tape. If the Senator doesn't get reelected Elizabeth would loose most of her power. Of course she could send Brad to prison. Only time will tell.

Something happened here in Minnesota which injuried a young high school hockey player, Jack Jabronski. He was checked from beheld and may never walk again. We see these guys on the ice and forget how dangerous it is. This could happen to any of the guys on the team. It is a sobouring thought. Here in Minnesota the school, community and whole state are pulling for Jack. They are even changing the rules so this does not happen again. As for this last chapter, they only get better and better. I like Sean and hope Wade and him have a interesting time together. As for Wade's mom, she is a piece of work. I think Wade is more than her match, however. The more I read or reread these chapter the more I am overwhelmed with their compassion and love for each other and how they bring others into their fold. They have made mistakes as with Brian but for the most part their choices have been great. Thanks again for the wonderful ride.

I thought the last chapter was good, this chapter tops that!! Wade is maybe richer than everyone but Stef. The relationship changes may have been just in time. Yummy Sean! I think they will be seeing lot of each other. I liked that Wade told JP to keep the tape. It shows a great deal about the relationship JP has with Wade. What got to me the most is that Wade is not just Matt's boyfriend or lover but a very important part of this family. That is what is great about this clan it is not blood that bines them but love! I was worried, at first about what would happen to Wade, if he broke up with Matt. Would he be left in the cold? No, first with Brad and now with JP, the ties are as strong as steel. These people are not just fare weather friends but FAMILY in the truest sense of the word. That's the reason I love this story so much. Who here would not want to be part of their family?

Two things: Elizabeth Danfield forgets who freed her from the bondage of ABC. You are right, Brad, Stef and JP would distroy her. I hope Matt has seen the light. His coming down to LA for Wade gives me hope. I can't see Wade, Matt , Jeanine and Tiffany all in one house for long even a place as large as Escorial. Oh Mark, I like hot young sexy lawyers like Sean Masey. yum! Hot romp with him and Wade. That would make Matt sit up and take notice.
-
Mark, we all know you a the master of the setup. Will comes back into the story with a cute classmate. Wade decides he can and will see other people. Jeanine is in a very bad way. And on the other side of the world George has Sir Phillip. All of this and making us wait for the next chapters. I thought we outlawed cruel and unusial punishment long ago. Five stars if we could give more I would.

I am so glad there are people who think like me about this saga. Even though Matt and Wade come from the same social class, they are very different. Matt is a party boy who likes attention. Wage in most cases wants to avoid attention. Wade mostly controls his temper.Well we know about Matt. Matt lets things happen. Wade plans things out in detail. Many times these relationships work. Opposites attract. I think Matt is now starting to understand what he might lose. This for JP. You are 100 percent correct! All those characters, are here because of what JP started. What if He wouldn't have take Andre to Paris all those years ago. No Isidore and Ace, later no Claire and Billy. No family for Brad to come too. No safe haven for Brad no meeting on the common with Robbie. No safe haven for Darius and JJ and no Will. No Jeanine , no Tiffany, no Riley or Maddy. Remove JP and the whole sage unravels. Now I must say JP had help along the way. Mainly Jeff, the guy who died in 1968 but still is around. Jeff told JP he needed to help Isidore and Ace. Jeff helped JP settle in California. Without Stanford , maybe no Wade, and Matt and Brian. Good comes with the bad. i want to thanks Mark again for a story which is so rich and interesting that we wait for each chapter as druggies wait for their fix. We can only marvel at the web Mr Arbour weaves. One last thing, Some time ago, I ask what CAP character was most like George Granger? I believe it is Wade because both have a sense of honor and duty. Both care more about others than their selves. Both don't understand how handsome they are. I believe as this story continues we will see it more and more. .
-
I must say I agree with you. Matt is not a bad person. He and Wade are not on the same page. It is too bad. Hopefully, Matt will see what is happening before it is too late.

I'm not sure why people want to kill JP off. I've always liked JP. He is the reason there is a CAP saga to begin with. First of all, an awesome chapter. Sad powerful chapter! Great job Mark! After rereading chapter 6 for the 3rd time and reading part of Bloodlines again you guys are right. Matt has changed from the nice guy we remember. At that time his world had been rocked and he was close to death. Wade was there every awaking moment. To Wade, Matt had saved him from his father and loved him. Both of them I believe didn't think they could love or could be love. At the end of Bloodlines there were no doubts. Happily ever after? Not in the CAP world. I was more upset with Brad's and Robbie's breakup. This seems to be different. For the first time, Wade is wondering if Matt is "Mr Right". Maybe they are just growing apart. This betrayal is only another sign of that has happened. You could say it was Wade becoming a Dad. But this situation was building before that. What will happen? To paraphrase, Mark only knows. And maybe he hasn't decided yet. Thanks for a great story with lots of Drama!

I found the letter from the Earl to George was wonderful. Long ago when the Earl brought George to the dock for the first time we could feel the love. George may not understand how much the Earl loves his third son. This was not the time parents hugged their kids. Even though the Earl has told George how proud he is of George. George saw it only as doing his duty. It's how George is. He sees the good in others but over looks it in himself, that is what endears us to George. Thanks Mark. It was a great chapter.

Once upon a time, JJ was a happy little kid and Will and Brad were surfing buds. Growing older is something none of us can stop. Growing older as a teenager is worse. But as Mark said if you do it right you get something worth all the pain, a really outstanding young person who is not only a joy to be with but someone you can be proud of for years to come. I think Will will be person like that.
-
At times it may be difficult to find love between JJ and Will, but it is there. Maybe just maybe Jeanine's illness will bring them back together. I always enjoy Will's side of the story. I am sure something interesting will happen on the school retreat. I wonder why does Tiffany, Will and JJ have more common sense than Brad and Robbie. Maybe they don't want to see the trouble. Having a 14 yo kid tell his parents what needs to be done is odd at best. I also hope that Jeanine can return home. It would be tragic be see her off in some mental hospital for life.

As I was reading these comments, something came to mind that I wanted to share with you. Matt is Robbies son. One of the problems which Robbie had was that he was getting older. Robbie told Brad that Brad had promised him they would grow older together. Robbie was upset that Brad was not growing old. I am thinking that Matt loves being at Stanford, loves being captain of the hockey team, but things with soon come to the end. Like Robbie, could Matt be afraid of growing old? This summer I got together with a number of college friends and it was like all those years had disappeared. It was great! Wade is now a dad and that may not have changed Wade but it is another sign that college does not last forever. Maybe Matt doesn't want to move into the real world. I thought that turning 30 was the hardest time even harder than 50 or 60. I had to be come an adult and not so wild and crazy. When you go to college most of people are on their own for the first time. No parents. Freedom! After college you become your parents. Sometimes it takes years but it happens. A very scary thought. What do you guys think?

If you reread Bloodlines in Chapter 47, when Matt is on the edge of death, Wade tells him that Matt made Wade love him when Wade didn't want to and then saved Wade from the abuse Wade's father had subjected Wade to. That is a strong powerful love. Will Matt kill that love by his wandering ways? I hope not.

This chapter shows us the problems which are barely under the surface. Wade has a difficult time the next few weeks. The only thing the seems sure and true is his relationship with his son Riley. Jeanine is blaming Wade for her problems. Her unstable condition is causing JJ more problems. Then when Wade really needs a strong supportive partner Matt is prowling the hallways of the dorm. Then we have Gathan, young cute and hurting. Could there be any more drama? I don't see Jeanine getting better soon. This could send JJ out of control. JJ seems to be the opposite of Will. Will is strong and willful, JJ seems to be very weak. I can see Tiffany reacting the way she does because of her past. If Jeanine knew about her past and was in sound mind they might be able to work in out. At this point I am not sure she can or will be able to. Then there is Matt, he could lose Wade very easily. With both Wade and Gathan hurting, things will get very interesting very soon. When Brad and Robbie had their problems, they had both a long history and a deep love, they were truly soul mates, from the moment they saw each other in the park all those years ago. It question arises are Matt and Wade like that? I believed they were, now I am not so sure. Will the war begin? Are the battle lines forming? If so this will rock the CAP world to the core. Who will be on Wade's side? We will have to see. Mark you did it this time! In this one chapter, you gave us the drama of whole saga. I guess this is why you are so good at this.

I could not be happier with Wade as the narrator. Wade has always been one of my favorite characters. It is interesting to see his point of view on the others. I loved how he adopted Will as his little brother and how he sees Brad and Robbie. His relationship with JP and how he thinks Matt and more like Brad than Robbie. I am glad he is a dad. He'll make a good one. I was sad Robbie wasn't a father again but I understand having Cody the father will make for more drama. And God knows we love drama. It was a great chapter and a wonderful beginning to a great story. Thanks Mark!!!

Now that Poor Man's Son is completed. The one quote that will remain in my mind for a long time is when Gathan is telling Will he should forgive John for sleeping with Zach. Will says " that's my we call it Will-power." I thinks it shows a lot about Will and where he is.
-
Mark I guess I agree with you. Will got his new room and good advice from Robbie in the last chapter. Gathan seems the loser however. I know life is not always the perfect picture. I really thought that Kristin and Gathan were good for each other. Of course with Gathan starting school it would be boring if he was tied up. We must remember that Matt met Wade at school. Maybe it's time for Gathan to explore new things in Cali. Maybe it only seems dark. Two good things may have come from this. Gathan can control he temper and maybe Zach is a better person than we think he is. Only time will tell. I was going to end my comments with those words but I could not in good conscience not continue to express my thanks and total admiration for our author who, book after book, story after story comes up with better and better characters and writing which I believe must only amaze us. I have read the saga from beginning to end so many times I honestly don't know how many. Every time I think Mark can't do any better, he does. I am sad Poor Man's Son has ended, but I look forward to the next book, knowing that it will be even better!! Thank you Mark!
-
After all the guests were gone I came upstairs to find this new and final chapter. Honestly, I did not see it coming. I wonder about the reformed Zach. I find it sad that Gathan is left alone. I thought Kristin was his soul mate. It seems like a unhappy ending which Mark is not known for. I hope happiness is awaiting Gathan in Cali.

This is one of the best chapters ever. Caroline is this best! I'm wondering however is Mark dropping hints that Bertie could be leaving this world soon? As for Freddie and his wife, could the Earl change the succession? I was looking it up and seems like it has been before where the younger son got the title. It seems like the King would have to reissue the patent. Is that true?
-
I love Caroline! She picked George and nothing will get passed her she is great. Again I felt I was there. Nothing is hotter than two women going at it. Caroline is a pro George is lucky to have her. I am also wondering if Bertie is not long for this world. Also could the Earl change the succession? I tried to see if the title could be passed to the younger son? It seems like it was done once before, with help of the King.

It is so funny that most of you think George and JP are the most a like, I think a few factors make them a little different. George was raped as a teenager. George being in the Royal Navy and living in the time he does. As for JP being a shy kid and the death of Steven I think weighed heavy upon him. Further more, we see George at the age of 16- 20 when he is at the height of his sexual powers. We first see JP later at 25. Colder and more uptight. From 1930 - 1963 was a more repressive time. I truly believe if Steven would have come back from the war JP would have been much more open and more like George.
-
I was wondering something. Over the last few weeks I have been reading the George saga over and over. Which character in the CAP saga is most like George? At first I thought of a young JP, then maybe Steven, Stef's father. George has passion, he needs to be loved and has lots of love to give. George is kind, he cares deeply about his friends, family and his crew. George is brave and also logical, he knows how to plan a battle to win but also save the lives of his men. Who is most like him? Wade?

What does one say about this chapter? A baby sister and a new brother? Who shares Will's birthday! Hard times maybe ahead but WOW this was a great day for the family. I was happy to see the baby boy was Wade's and that both JJ and Will stepped up. Will has grow so much during this story. I think it was Tonto who said love was always worth it. Armand told Brad to always love. Now Will is following that advice. Tony will have a difficult time but with Will's help I think he will make it. Thank again Mark for brightening my day!

What brought me to the CAP saga was the history. The two events which changed America the most in my lifetime are 11?22?1963 and 9/11/2001. Innocence lost and after 9 11 we never felt totally safe. The characters don't know what is coming and how it will change their lives as it did ours. As for Matt and Gathan, I always liked Matt but I am wondering if he has turned into a real dick. Why do Matt and J J have problems with Gathan. Will, Darius and the crew like him. Well Brad has some problems with him but nobody else does. JJ is the greatest mystery. He seems like a diva but again we are seeing it from Will's point of view not from his. During this story we have seen Will grow. He has found what he thought was love and lost it. He has forgiven people who hurt him which honestly most grown ups can't do. Maybe Will needs to let JJ grow up too.
