"JJ's damacene conversion"; keep this up and I'll need to withdraw the contract I have out on him. That said, changing his spots following a successful party and better than average fuck suggests that the pond has not got any deeper, just some of the scum removed.....

Oh! Ye of little imagination, and even less understanding of the mind of JJ's creator, Mr Arbour. If JJ is to die you can guarantee it will be in a far more spectacular way than a commonplace bus, or stereotypical shark. There will be DRAMA!

This chapter is seriously two sided. By the end of August 6, I my dislike of every aspect of JJ's narcissism, his treatment of staff, his vanity, his mental chaos was getting to the point where I'd never be able to look in a mirror again. Then August 7. The transformative effect of a couple of blowjobs and another's riches to rags story. JJ takes shallow to whole new levels. But at least now I am able to dislike him without seeing myself. Thank you Mr Arbour.

Having both your monarch and your lover on your command could rank as a Royal Navy first for our intrepid hero. If I Endymion was fast before, I suspect she is about to get faster, morally if not physically...

Ever heard the phrase "damning with faint praise"? 🤣

JJ is one of your characters, Mr Arbour, where the more he is revealed the more truly unlikeable he becomes. Even when he is nice he is just another level of awful. I sincerely hope you give him some bedtime skills so, should he lose the money, he has hope as a skilful hooker. Tho' a "narcissist hooker", if not a contradiction, would certainly be aiming for a very select clientele!

What perfect timing; a new Grainger chapter and my husband arrives with my Saturday 5pm martini! I could be no closer to heaven! Thank you Mr Arbour. Incorporating (favourite author) Jane Austen's youngest brother is a great twist and much appreciated. Great also to see Genarro again along with young Travers and Kingsdale. I fear duty with the King will necessitate much horizontal refreshment, but he does seem to have the crew to supply said refreshment.... interesting times ahead! Many thanks!

Rarely do I read writings good, so affecting that I want to slap a character within a paragraph. But in this chapter, Mr Arbour has done it; overcome decades of pacifism and stirred me into wanting to seriously bring someone back to reality with a bang. I sincerely hope JJ is going to run head first into a real world. I'll be there with bandages and sympathy....but I'll be smiling inside! Thank you, great read.

Interesting and I'd suggest unusually honest discussion between two men of their age on relationship/monogamy/other partners. A discussion that many should have but I feel few do. Like most things in this world I am sure its sets us all up for some very lascivious drama! Thanks, looking forward to the "freshman" world. Nb I disagree with a Thorpe hook-up. At the time he was in a hell of a mess; a hook up with an Arbour-character, any Arbour character, would not have helped his mental state! Great read. Thanks.

True, just hoping it's after Jutland or perhaps the Falklands? 🤩😍👍

I think your vague hint that George could die is tantamount to treason!

Bloody marvellous! So good to have George back between the sheets...so to speak! Interesting that the first two encounters are with StVincent and his wife, with Calvert in his fantasies. Looks to be another great episode in our heroes life! Thanks. Your talent is much appreciated!

And while I hate to sound ungrateful for the above welcome news, any thoughts on our beloved aristocrat George and his Regency escapades?🤩😍😳

You don't do straightforward characters do you? 😜 Unprotected sex without consent is a pretty major issue, so I can understand the reaction. Interesting to hear the justification...if he's allowed to give it! Thanks

The Funeral and Dominic Adjusting
Canuk commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in The Funeral and Dominic Adjusting
His ex sister in laws comment at the funeral is really appalling. 30 plus years ago a similar comment was made to me re my two sons. I simply replied to the woman concerned asking how often her husband interfered with his daughters? -
Funeral Preparations and Legal Matters
Canuk commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Funeral Preparations and Legal Matters
The bureaucracy of dying,..... Surprised that funeral costs don't come from rhe estate. That would be standard here in Autralia. Also here a power of attorney is useless after the person has died. The will listing him as executor and death cert is what he'd need for the bank. I am not sure for all our ingenuity we have managed to make this transfer simple in any country! -

Year 1 AD (After Divorce)
Canuk commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Year 1 AD (After Divorce)
You've created quite the arsehole in " Mr tim". No one need's to react like that! Great writing. Thanks -
Yes, he screwed up. However the divorce lawyer was wrong. Divorce is about two peoples lives separating. It's not about punishment for real or imagined transgressions. Great story. Interested to see where it goes!

I didn't need to "pound it into a mould" with or without a hammer. I am and have always been into monogamy, serial monogamy but monogamy never the less. And it's not a jealousy thing. I have had jealous partners and they drove me up the wall. To me its love and trust until.... As for polyandry; sounds great in theory, and even my stilted imagination can run riot with the bedtime possibilities, but honestly running one husband is emotionally and physically enough! One definite no is a cat. I live (at present) in Australia: cats are noxious vermin, the depths of my hatred, dislike and disdain for pussy knows no bounds..

Happy New year to all. Just wondering, has anyone ever died peacefully in their sleep in the CAP series? Not that Curtis Buck deserved any less than what he got, but still.... Also as mentioned above the "suicide" story is going to rely on some v fancy footwork to get around the multiple bits of evidence that make that unlikely. Excellent start to 2024. Thanks!

Chapter 81: Final Chapter
Canuk commented on Mark Arbour's story chapter in Chapter 81: Final Chapter
I agree a marital rapprochement would be sensible, logical and produce a great ending; all the reasons that in the tender, loving, but brutal hands of our puppeteer-in-chief that this won't happen! It's also the reason why the slut/misunderstood woman/ master political manipulator/saint with gay-bi husband, won't conveniently die. I'd strongly suggest rather than choose Mr Arbour's plot directions, you take out a lottery ticket, far higher chance of being right. -
I get this feeling we are all watching Mme Defarge as played by Mark Arbour, but all we can see is the knitting and not whose operating the guillotine...... Sacking the cook will have repercussions. If you need to ask why, you haven't been reading our favourite author for long.... Great Christmas read. Thanks
