  1. I gather that the father wasn't happy and I don't even speak Norwegian
  2. Bah! NY is a nice place to visit......
  3. If JJ is a figure skater he can stay in So Cal and train. Evan Lysacek and Mirai Nagasu both train here and Michelle Kwan did too. Adam Rippon is stinking cute!
  4. So I am not sure if you mean you got into Cal or UCLA or both with less than a 3.5 and you aren't Spielberg's kid...... I guess I know more about Cal since that is where Tim and a lot of his family and friends went and I think it has been very tough to get into for a long time. UCLA I just know is pretty tough now, but I know some guys who backdoor it by going to SaMo City College and get into UCLA automatically if they follow the transfer procedures and classes. If Darius goes to UCI he better be into Asian guys since UCI stands for University of Chinese Immigrants... about 65% last I heard...
  5. Not a lot of military types coming out of Malibu, but a few. I know a couple have gone to the Naval Academy, a couple joined the Marines and one guy who wants to be a SEAL, but in general, you don't see guys in uniform, there really aren't any bases close by. UCSB & UCSC are the party schools of the UC system. All my friends at Santa Barbara seem to do is surf and party, but how may universities have their own surf break, so maybe it is okay. I can't see a 3.5 getting into Cal or maybe even UCLA unless they had ultra high SATs or PSATs without being an athlete or Steven Spielberg's kid.
  6. Hmmmmm, did you cry when you were watching this??
  7. First off, y'all gotta learn how to spell the school, it is Berkeley, there are 3 "e's" in the word. Second, the guy who wrote you must be getting into some of that 'medical marijuana' we have in CA. The average GPA at Cal is 4.15 and 4.16 at UCLA, a low 3 would never cut it, the only UC schools where the GPA is lower than 4.0 are UC Merced, UC Riverside and UC Santa Cruz (who wants to be a Banana Slug anyways??). The 75th percentile at Berkeley have 710, 750 and 710 for their SAT's (reading, math, writing) and UCLA is 680, 730, 690, so pretty competitive. A person with 3.1 GPA and with SAT's of like 550, 590, 570 would wind up at a Cal State Uni like Cal Poly Pomona, SLO or SF State, someplace like that unless they are a star athlete. Like I said, I know of two guys who had over 4.0's and good SAT's who didn't get into Cal, but one did get into UCLA the other wound up at UCSD.
  8. Beverly Hills High is like three different schools, there are the old line liberal movie people, the Persians and liberal Jewish (which sometimes is the same as the movie people). I think my friends that go there would be cool with a gay couple, but they tend to come from the liberal movie types and liberal hedge fund types, I don't know any of the Persians there so not sure how they feel about homos. It is not as easy as hell to get into Berkeley (and never called 'UC Berkeley', it is 'Cal' or 'Berkeley' and really never UCB) or UCLA, there is no one with a 3.1 GPA going there unless they can dunk a basketball from the top of the key or run a 40 in 4.1 and catch a football. I know 4.3 valedictorians who get turned down. Now you might get into the "system", but it would be UC Merced or UC Riverside and who wants to go to school in Merced or Riverside? Even UCI or UCSD are hard to get into especially if you apply for life sciences. And if you are a lesbian and your mom is Cher or someone like that at Beverly, you are probably cooler because of it.
  9. Close is a relative term. Pali High, SaMo High and Uni are all close and Westlake and Agoura even closer, but Malibu kids probably have more friends at Pali and Beverly than they do Uni or SaMo because of the social groups they run in and clubs the parents belong to.
  10. I guess it is hard for me to grasp the concept of asexual, it almost seems unnatural to me. Sex seems to be all I can think about most of the time. Not that I am actually doing anything about it, but it is on my mind constantly even when I am in chapel which is just weird.
  11. It is both and sometimes neither. I love songs in Italian and German or even Latin where I can't understand most of the words, but the sound is beautiful. A singer can destroy a great song by doing their version and make a song I love one I don't love so much. Like Silent Night, such a beautiful song, it is one of my favorites, I even get misty eyed sometimes when it is sung well or like the version from Mannheim Steamroller, but two years ago I went with a friend to her schools Christmas concert and they so butchered Silent Night trying to jazz it up I wanted to run up on stage and make them stop,
  12. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves.
  13. Sumi Jo of course! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ky2r0EB27yM&feature=related
  14. My experience on #4 is that "just looking for friends" is as big a lie as there it. Most of the guys don't want to admit they are horn dogs and looking for sex. When these "just looking for friends" guys find out I am 17, they won't meet me at the beach or Starbucks. If it is just for friends, what is the big deal? The big deal is, they really want sex. What are the "dirty looking" ones? And I am not sure there are a lot of "normal people" on those just looking for friends, I think it is back to pretending they aren't horned up. Do guys really go to a site called Men 4 Men 4 Sex Right Now, Not Later, But Right NOW, Sooner If Possible to find friends? And post total nude, XXX pics....... to find friends? A lot of guys don't want screaming queens, that is as personal a choice as wanting a twink, a bear, rice, beans, chub, CD or whatever. Some guys actually want total femmes too. To each his own.
  15. Working on #3 at the moment.
  16. Shower 'cuz Fluffy loves 'em so.
  17. I love BJ's and especially for their Pizzookie!
  18. I see so much bad writing on television it drives me nuts and I know what they make to write it. It is obscene.
  19. Interesting that you have a +1 positive on your definition and when Tim said the same thing in a different forum he got like -20.
  20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDEHQGF-V18 I am what I am I don't want praise I don't want pity I bang my own drum Some think it's noise I think it's pretty And so what if I love each sparkle and each bangle Why not see things from a different angle Your life is a sham Till you can shout out I am what I am I am what I am And what I am needs no excuses I deal my own deck Sometimes the aces sometimes the deuces It's one life and there's no return and no deposit One life so it's time to open up your closet Life's not worth a damn till you can shout out I am what I am
  21. I'm surprised anyone voted for Pizza Hut or Domino's. We've ordered Pizza Hut & Papa John's, we go to CPK and even Pizzeria Uno and BJ's for deep dish, but none of those are our faves. Depending on where we are, there are better local places that aren't chains.
  22. Well it depends on the salad doesn't it? A lettuce wedge just screams for chunky bleu cheese, you can't call it a Caesar Salad without Caesar dressing (with raw egg & anchovie), a caprese has to have a vinaigrette and so on.
  23. I don't like vampire books so I've never read or seen Twilight, but I think Harry Potter is great. I wish Percy Jackson had done better at the box office so they'd make more. But is it some weird sexual thing that all these books revolve around two guys and girl? Harry Potter (Harry, Ron, Hermoine) Percy Jackson (Percy, Grover, Annabeth) Ranger's Apprentice (Will, Horace, Alyss or Evanlynn) Twilight (vampire, werewolf, chick)
  24. Funny you ask this question (or funny I saw it today). I stopped reading a book today called The Whistling Season. I really, really, really wanted to like this book because the topic interested me and I can't get through it the writing is so bad, so convoluted... it is like he is trying to put the words in unnatural combinations so people will think he is deep or something. I may give it another chance tomorrow.
