  1. Maken

    Chapter 1

-o Chapter One of Ramifications -o It was both an adventure and the biggest risk he'd ever taken. Oh, everything had been explained clearly to him. He'd been forced to read a bunch of stuff and discuss it with loads of people just to see if he understood what he was getting himself into (because the choice to get involved or not had been entirely his). There had been social workers, lawyers and physiologists involved, to name a few. There was even a custody hearing, for crying out loud! Th

    Ramifications

Brought together by the most incredible of circumstances, ten young men embark on an unexpected journey that’ll change the face of humanity as we know it . . . and tip the world on its head, while having the time of their lives!
  3. Happy B-day!
  4. Felicitations!
  5. I get uncomfortable getting stared at, so I cover up while changing. After all, I
  6. I write like Dan Brown, Stephen King, J. D. Salinger and J. K. Rowling. And this is from four different scenes of four different stories. Maybe my writing style varies according to the tale I
  7. Komodos are snappy buggers.
  8. The first movie was what led me to the books some ten years ago. And the books, in turn, were what made me want to read even more. I didn

  10. Puppies-in-training that grow up to become well-behaved dogs are my favorite. I
  11. I think it is. Now, picture that with the guys in the buff.
  12. Could someone even think of such a choice in the heat of the moment? I think I
  13. A generation or so ago, things were so completely different as to be mind-boggling. The internet and the changes it has made in the world, alongside the fast-developing, always-expanding global/digital community is making the gaps between generations bigger and bigger with each passing day. I
  14. Sumo wrestling is almost there! Problem is, I think the mawashi (loincloth) they wear, is a pretty import part of the sport itself.
  15. Definitely a long, steamin
  16. It'd be pretty cool to have a pet fire-lizard. A blue one at that. So I completely understand. I have to ask though, what specific legends are you speaking about? I've never found much about banshees, and have always considered them quite sad because of their nature.
  17. I have a pretty deep fascination with underwater creatures of all kinds, so this makes Merpeople an obvious choice for me, along with its kin; sirens, selkies and such. Winged humans are a close second after that, and elves come in third place. As for magical or mythical animals; c
  18. Thanks! My story was validated, so go check it out. Its called Ramifications; a sience fantasy story that's been rattling around me brain for some time. Now I just have to announce it in the e-Fiction thread. :king:
  19. Sweet. I managed to submit the chapter. Now I'll wait until its validated to post the annoucement on teh forums. Thanks for everything!
  20. Thanks! I already registered for e-Fiction with the same name (actually, I registered for it first, and then the forums, and was pretty confused on why I had to do both), and I completely understand why any new story is examined. It's a pretty nice precaution, after all. I did receive your email, and I greatly appreciate it as well. Some of the stories in your list are already on my reading list (though it will take a bit to go through them all. Just Castaway Hotel is huge!). At the moment I'm trying to upload the first chapter of my story, but I've hit a few bumps with it (I've both linked the file and pasted the chapter content on the designated window, but when hitting 'preview,' nothing but the summary, title and selected categories show up). Still, I'll be looking through the guides and instructions to see if I'm missing something. The awesome wisdom of my seniors in this site would be most appreciated, of course. =P Again, thanks for the warm welcome. Cheers!
  21. Greetings and salutations to all! The screen name is Maken (Though yall can call me Tom if you have a mind), which is a penname I've used in various sites, though I don't rightly remember where I got it from. I came across this place while sniffing around for reading material (which I've found in spades!), and after looking around for a few days, decided to join the community. I still haven't got the hang of this forum, but I'll get there soon (maybe a few more months or a few more years, who knows?) so do excuse me if I goof off every now and then, eh? Anyhow! I'm a reader first and a writer second; If real life allowed me, however, this'll probably be reversed. I'll be posting the first chapter of a story I've had on my files for a bit (but never found the right place to post it on), so do check it out and tell me what you think of it! Cheers!
