    Chapter 1

Thanks Ian, I don't think we set out to make it terribly sad, but the subject isn't really conducive to a happy happy joy joy story. I'm glad you liked it, sorry you almost needed tissues. :-)

    Chapter 1

Thanks Nephy. As always, Antya's influence is a huge part of it. We were going for something that fit the day, so hopefully this worked.

    Chapter 6

One wonders what kinds of adjustments will be made soon after :-P I think Ethan will surprise a few people, He seems like such a clown some times, but there's more to him than that as we've seen and will see again.

    Chapter 6

He's been known to chuck some wood at inappropriate times and not be embarrassed in the least.
  5. "I think we should do it." I handed the paper to Lethe, wondering if my boyfriend would think I was crazy. Lethe read the page, looking up once, then set it on the table. "Not that I'm saying no, but why the sudden interest? I mean this is something that’s much bigger in the United States." "So does that make it any less right?" I knew how bad it sounded to answer a question with one of my own. "Sorry, I don't mean to be defensive. I…I saw it and I just felt that I should do it, even if it's n

  7. "So how are you going to get here?" Blake really didn't care that much except that he wanted to be sure Ethan had a ride before he hung up. Not that he wanted to go, but they'd been talking for a while now and he needed to meet his teammates for dinner "Keep your shorts on–no wait, take them off so you'll be naked when I get there." Blake laughed despite himself. "Don't worry Mr. Walking Woody, there'll be plenty of time for me to send you home walking funny." "Hold on there, I'm no easy hook
  8. Well it was 11 chapters. Think of it this way, the folks who were reading week by week had to way 5 weeks or so for Peter to wake up. There is no sequel so, yeah this book does wrap up things by the end. There is a companion story about Jordan trial and there are short stories that will pick up after this one ends. But you should finish this before you read anything else.
  9. Thanks for letting me know you like it. well you probably already know what happens so I'll just leave it with thanks
  10. Oh so many things to address. Plot - I think I said it up front, but there ISN'T a plot in the traditional sense, at least not yet. These are more or less glimpses into the lives of the characters. That said, I have an idea where everything is going. I think today is a bit more of what I see as the 'main' plot of the story. I kind of see this as follow Blake [and through him] Ethan. I don't expect this to be the compelling issues like in SS. no gay bashing that puts one or the other in the hospital, no homophobic mother to sway, no threat of being cut off etc. I was hoping to show a school year of some friends, with the main part being how one - Blake - deals with liking someone who's 3 hours away. That and juggling school and soccer. Length - Maybe the 1000 word briefs won't be enough and I'll end up supplementing what I post of GA - that's difficult given the format of the Wed Group, but not impossible. The supplements would need to not impact the over all story enough that missing them would make it hard to follow the Wednesday story. I have a couple thoughts on that, i.e., refer the Wed Brief folks to GA for the rest of the story and remind them after one installment and before the next to be sure to read the extended stuff or maybe posting supplemental chapters on my site and GA. IDK really. But it's something I'm thinking about. "Chapters" - This chapter in particular is one I struggled with how to end. For example. I though about just ending it after the part about Reggie, and then make a 'part II' so to speak. By ending it this way, I'm sorta stuck - I really can't go back at the start of the next chapter and continue this conversation. It would be too anticlimactic. Now I also don't need to go to 'friday' and them together either. So I have options, I just need to figure out what to do with it. And maybe the answer ends up being scrapping the Wed Brief concept - though to be honest I doubt I'll do that, it's too important to my website development at this point, ask for a bit of a dispensation to write more than 1000 per go - or post in between. Stuff to consider, but no decision imminent. I do, however, hear your concerns and share some of them. AQG

    Chapter 5

B-man - you raised something I was thinking as I wrote this- IF this were a longer format, I would have gone into a bit more before Ethan dialing things back to where he wanted them to go. And I'd flesh out their conversation a bit more. I'll talk about it a bit more in the forum, but I understand your point and I'm not sure what I'm going to do about it yet, but I want to address it. Chapter 5

Oh well Blake has a bit of. . . of . . . something to do still, but I think he'll be okay. As for Raymond Henry, well he didn't get to be as well off as he is by being a fool. Reggie must have his good points, I just haven't figured them out yet.
  13. Would you be angry if I said, neither do I?? Okay, put the pitchfork down, I have a clue and some new tails [pun intended as well as the 'misspelled' word] to spin. I suppose I should ask here - do folks have 'suggestions' on who they want to read more about?
  14. Blake pulled the shower curtain back and reached for his towel. For a school with as many rich kids as Graydon, you'd think they could afford more than a piece of cheap plastic for the showers. Then again, the dorms were not the housing of choice. As the 'most affordable' option, the majority of students who lived there didn't qualify as the 'well heeled.' But the place fit his family's budget, wasn't far from practice and he and his roommate got along well. At least they did so far. Coming out
  15. Sorry to do this but there won't be a chapter today. Sorry. Been a hectic Easter week. B-man, you think this is really over? Really? 0;) Younger brothers are tricksy. I know, I had one and I am one. But I guess time will tell. Thanks for reading.

    Chapter 4

Thanks for sticking with me David and yes you should consider the flash fiction for your characters but that is just one person's humble opinion
  19. TIm, as I mentioned in my first response, the lack of caution was deliberate as a way to show what being in love can do. Does he realize it and if he does, does he care? I think it's easier said than done to 'be careful' when you really like someone. But I hope you like the rest of the story - you've got a ways to go I'm afraid. Thanks for reading and for taking the time to leave a few comments. AQG

  21. Okay so now I'm worried. I won't say why, but about chapters 12-16 you might be tossing stones at me - just saying - Yes I know that them kissing that close to campus wasn't the wisest thing, but I wanted to show that Jason is very taken with Peter - so much so that he doesn't always take the proper precautions or better said, forgets to take them. Peter is out so he isn't going to be naturally inclined to be careful. What Pete might think is safe might not be safe at all. SO I suspect you can see where this is going. lol
  22. I don't believe them. Sorry, but Amazon own Shelfari and a minority interest in the only other 'reader' forum - Library thing. So with this purchase, they own all three 'readers' literary sites. Sure they don't plan to change anything - is that in legally binding document? Can Goodreads really do whatever it wants if they disagree with Amazon? If Amazon doesn't like the synergies from the purchase after leaving it as an independent subsidiary, will they still leave it alone? What made Goodreads valuable was it didn't owe it's existence to anyone BUT the readers who used the site. Now that's gone. I don't buy for a minute that Amazon won't make changes that benefit them to the detriment of everyone else. It's not that I dislike Amazon, quite the contrary. Jeff Bezos donated 2.5 million dollars to Washington's Marriage Equality campaign, so I'm favorably inclined toward them over the competition. But as an Author, they've really become the juggernaut that is making the decisions on a whole lot of issues - and not always good for authors.
  23. I assume most people know about Goodreads - but for those that don't it WAS an independent book review site that wasn't tied to any seller. http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=176060&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1801563&highlight Personally I don't view this as a good thing. Amazon already had it's own review system in place AND it had started its own reader sight - which clearly couldn't compete with GR. By folding this into their own system, you take away an independent voice that was focused not on sales, but on readers and reader recommendations. Oh well. Anyone wanna start a new reader only platform to replace Goodreads?? :-P

    Chapter 4

Well, I won't say I never drank, but I can say I never had the - hey it's 3 in the afternoon, I'm 18 let me snark a beer from the fridge days. But I think the issue wasn't so much he had beer, but that it seemed a bit too important and the school year hadn't even begun. So hopefully this isn't shades of things to come - but ou never know.
