    Chapter 9

Ah yes, Matt - well we'll see how that plays out -

    Chapter 8

My thoughts with this are that Blake isn't exactly looking for a fuck buddy, so he's not exactly just in it for the sex. Ethan has trouble expressing himself seriously, so he uses jokes to try to avoid that - But maybe together they'll be good. right?

    Chapter 7

See the short chapters work okay if you read them in bunches Ethan is probably a lot more mature than the jokester attitude he uses as a public face. But Blake is about to learn that I think.

    Chapter 6

I don't think Blake is quite that daring - and definitely not yet. Just my thoughts, but what do I know?

    Chapter 5

Liked that little - oh yeah, I'll be there from Ethan? Well you now know he likes Blake just a bit more than a little

    Chapter 4

Well Jo Ann, you know how much I like to talk so, I'll probably answer them all Have you ever had a BFF, where you're almost as close as brothers? That Darryl and Jason. For him, Dean stepping out like that is going to feel like his business. But yeah, he probably should have let Jason do it himself
  7. Blake stopped outside the restaurant door, heart racing. He didn't know how long they stood there, but it had been long enough for the late August humidity to make him start to sweat. "We don't have to do this." Ethan's voice reminded Blake he didn't come alone. "At least not today." "No." Compared to what Jason and Peter did to keep their relationship a secret at first, he and Ethan had it easy. And it still sucked. "It's time. Enough know already that even if I don't say anything, most will
  8. Or maybe one of three? I'm not sure how far to take this. The easy way is to end the scene with him and matt then cut to something else. Or I could leave them at the table with the team and have Blake still sweating bullets. Even if no one said anything right away - does that automatically remove his tension? I can't imagine that coming out is THAT easy - even once the weight is removed, there is still a bit of awkwardness. We'll see. I do of course thing there needs to be a bit of a private reward from Ethan for a job well done, no?
  9. Libby - Brava!!! Well said indeed. Some of things you outlined do indeed cause me to roll my eyes, toss the book aside - if it's not on my Nook - or otherwise just not care about it any more. Since the list was never meant to be exhaustive, I won't add my pet peeves of writing, but the message is spot on - the best writing takes work, not using cliches and well worn tropes. But the finished product is so much better and so much more memorable to the reader. Thanks for this. -AQG

    Chapter 16

I wish I had a better format to delve into Jason and Darryl's lives - especially their friendship. In my mind, they are best mates and there is nothing sexual about it. Darryl doesn't even think of Jason as gay - only as Jason. They are however in many ways like an old married couple - they know each other so well and have pranked each other so many times over the years - well Darryl tends to do the pranking, but hey we all have our roles. Anyway, maybe some day - I say that about a lot however, so unless I win the lottery, I don't know that some day will ever come for me. :-/

    Chapter 17

I think I'll do you a bit more than that with the next chapter - though I don't promise to not leave you all hanging again. I hear I can run for King of Cliffs this year so I figured what the heck.

    Chapter 17

Daithi - believe it or not my chapters are actually almost always too long. There is a 1000 word limit on the 'flash fiction." these are basically just snippets of the boys lives that are told in a flash fiction format - 500-1000. I'm almost always a 50-100 words over. And even if I do stop like that - I always close up the loop holes. Honestly - I want to be able to write more of this, but I have SO much going on even this is a struggle some weeks. So I apologize about the length. I suppose I could just post a few weeks on my web site then combine them into a chapter for GA if folks think that'd be better. The down side is it would be 2-3 weeks between chapters.
  13. Watching his finger slowly move off the doorbell, Blake wondered if he should have called before coming over. Problem was, he knew if he had to call first, he'd probably not follow through. No, he told himself. He needed to do it, and no time would ever be right. Peter opened the inner door and his eyes flicked wide. He opened the screen door and stepped back. "Blake." "Hey Pete. Is Jason here?" He wondered what Peter thought of all the time he spent alone with Jason. Probably nothing, he d
  14. Wow talk about no pressure, comparing the unmade - maybe never made - movie version of this to Titanic. Thanks for the note, I'll make sure you among the first to know if anyone every decides to make it into a movie.

    Chapter 16

Glad to hear you liked it, I was afraid this would be too boring or tame for folks. As I said in the other chapter response, I've wanted to show their friendship as well as what Jason and Peter have. I'll go check that out video, I'm always up for something new - thanks for telling me.

    Chapter 16

Thanks! I think when I started this, I had in mind two separate relationships - the best friends Darryl and Jason, and the Boy friends, Peter and Jason. I wanted to do something to show that you can keep your straight best friend even when you have a BF. That's part of what I hope to do with their senior year. So I'll keep trying. But yes, what to do with Ethan and Blake.
  17. “Thank you, Mr. Tellerman, you’re free to go now.” Judge Milton gestured to the exit to the witness stand. Jason found him pleasant enough, but he’d seen first hand what happened when he got mad. “Please don’t discuss your testimony with anyone else.” “Yes sir.” Walking out of the courtroom proved harder than walking in. Instead of the backs of everyone’s head, now he had to face them as he left. Ignoring Jordan and his attorney proved easy enough; he decided to look at his and Peter’s famili

    Chapter 14

Daithi, where did this slip in? I missed it obviously - I suppose you are very right - sometimes taking the guilt is easier - because you don't work to move on. Peter had to go through a lot of counseling to get back to where he was/is so you can see he wasn't going to let Jason take the blame for this. As you say, they're going to need to work together to get beyond this. My hopes are high for them both.

    Chapter 15

Benji - I'm not sure I ever thought of Jason's guilt as contributing, but I suspect he walked on egg shells far too long with Peter and that contributed to the break up in some way. Going back to court will give them a bit of closure, but I don't know that you ever totally put that behind you. Since we all know what happens in the trial and how it ends, I think that in some ways it really helped to know that particular person is gone for good. [for purposes of the story we can assume Jordan will lose all his appeals ] Glad to hear you're PC is back and running. Q
  21. As a tie in to the Guest Blog Post I did last Wednesday on the GA blog - I'd like to give anyone on GA who aspires to be published - or is published - a chance to promote themselves a bit. Two things I was/am doing on my site are geared toward helping other authors promote their books. I average about 600-700 unique visitors a month on the site so while it might not be close to what GA gets, it's not that small anymore either and it's been my observation that there isn't a ton of cross over with GA viewers - but I can't confirm that. Either way it's a chance to you promote yourself to the reading public away from what you're doing on GA. Mondays - I have been posting new releases - basically cover, blurb, buy link at a minimum, but author bio, social media and if the book is out more than a week, reviews if the author wants them. Anyone with a new release can have it posted - pending releases will go up the week they come out, already released books - well I'm flexible on who new is new so if you're in doubt - email me, chances are it's fine. Thursdays - I do author profiles/spotlights. These tend to be more general - hi, I'm so and so and not necessarily book specific - but they can be whatever you like, interview, guest post, random musing - whatever. I'll take guest posts to promote books any day but Monday, Wed and Thursday. Shoot me an email if interested. No reciprocity required. Andy

    Chapter 15

I have no idea what I did, but it was clearly me not the site. I think we know they get through the trial okay, that's how that story ends, but it's how they got there I want to explore - although I do see some soccer tossed in - just saying.

    Chapter 15

I have NO idea how that happened, but it's been corrected. Thanks for the heads up. This story line has a lot of potential as it will lead through the trial and sentencing and those have some meat to work with. I'll probably spread them out a bit, but I'll get to them all. Thans for reading and for pointing out the problem. -AQG
  24. "We won't get to you today, Peter." Mary Alberts said. "Why don't you all go home? You need to be back at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow." Jason snuck a glance at Peter sitting to his right. He didn't need to speak for Jason to know he didn't like the news. "Do you or Danny need to speak to the boys?" Raymond Henry asked. Jason couldn't hold back a smirk. Only Pop could call Daniel Humber 'Danny' and get away with it. Well almost. The assistant D.A. raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry, Mr. Henry, are you refe

    Chapter 6

Zandra, I seemed to be working backwards, but see my response to Chapter 14, the nature of the 'chapters' is flash fiction of under 1000 words. But wait a few weeks and read them all in a row and it won't seem so short. :-P
