Unfortunately I saw this happening in my senior year, but with a twist. The girls were al,ready pregnant and knew it was from the bad boys they had been living freely with. But with the baby news and the rapidly approaching prom, a baby plan with the geeky virgin that gets lucky, and amazingly she’s pregnant on his first time; lies of course and hard to prove back then. But one case was clearly blown when she admitted the reason his daughter looked like her honky-tonk friend, and yes, the same bad boy from senior year.

One man’s fetish could be another’s nightmare…

Yes, it’s hard not knowing what could have been, but our regret again was focused on just not having more time to find ourselves before having to make life decisions. It would have possibly/probably turned out differently if we’d had a little more time to deepen our relationship and to learn our options together versus still thinking somewhat independently. But life doesn’t give us redos, nor would we necessarily want to give up what we’ve already lived; e.g. my girls. My former roommate has had two post school, long term relationships. One had a significant health issue that took lots of support, then ironically he left my roommate and their relationship after he got better. The subsequent relationship is one than seems to be one of comfortable convenience. Both parties wanting companionship but knowing that it’s based on just that, but they are together and neither has bailed, so it’s more commitment than the first relationship was. As an observer, It’s rather sad to me. I expected subconsciously that he would have had a better chance at an open gay relationship than what I would have been able to give him with where I felt my career path would have taken me/us…at that time. Instead, he’s had a very rewarding professional career, yet he seems to be somewhat more isolated emotionally than I imagine we would have been; we were just more connected, and I just don’t see that with his relationship. So ironically, what I thought was a sacrifice we made that would benefit him the most, in turn, seems to have perhaps left him less fulfilled. He still enjoys hiking too, but that too means he’s out there too often by himself. 😢 Life is full of twists that can confuse you and make you wonder why and how it turned out that way.
