    Chapter 23

Ok, own up. Dad, I took the commodore to a party. Then when I got ready to leave…. i have no idea how those keys got there. 😈

    Chapter 23

Yup, the set up, feed him a drink after he eases up enough to trust a little.

    Chapter 23

Then again, how many of us really kept a good count on drinks when we were distracted by exciting new things and hormones plugging ears and brain clotting; so anywhere from 3 to…

    Chapter 23

Well in all fairness, what teen wouldn’t be shell shocked to wake from a first and bad hangover and be greeted by a popo at the door when…this dad has just taken him in not long ago. Has he ruined it and will now go the foster care? Or worse, Juvi?

    Chapter 23

Sometimes even adults can play dumb, and wait for dumberer to fess up. That’s a major guilt and shit show, but another way to skin a cat ( sorry @Summerabbacat, just an expression).

    Chapter 23

Teen stupidity on top of closeted gay, repressed Churchie, homeschooled and naive, then HYPER-HORMONAL brain clotting. He’lol confess, but maybe later. Likewise, the talk of the small town is still bound to reach Riptide warning levels by the time Levi does confess.

    Chapter 23

Lots of similarities between Levi and Matt’s history but Casey is definitely not a Luke quality guy.

    Chapter 23

I think Levi has probably just found employment in body shop of humble humility and a debt of gratitude that things didn’t go worse than expected, Not worse for the Commodore, not Levi’s bruised body, but from the new meat comment and the wave-off shake of Casey’s head, I believe Levi’s wreak may have same Levi from a night of video porn blackmail and/or possibly rape. The hours spent repairing the Commodore with a very disappointed dad will be a long road of recovery; of the trust and faith that Matt, Luke, and the tribe thus far given Levi. Total confession beyond Father Costa will possibly buy back some of Levi’s trust and dignity a home but then then word will spread of the church boy visiting the devil’s playground; hopefully the rumors will reveal the destiny Levi avoided when the commodore decided enough was enough and put the guardrails into Levi’s path. Yes, it could have been worse, but maybe now Levi will realize his true friends, family, and what is truly treasured; what is important to him. Meanwhile, the phone, the text, the bonfire site, and all the people may find confessions are a great way to unload all that troubles…Levi. The cockroaches have run but they can’t hide forever.

    Chapter 22

Ahhh now, just because someone tries to button up loose ends doesn’t mean they are not fly, besides, it’s hard to keep such thoughts zipped up when whether it’s straight from the cut or we give it the boot, Levi is still a cool name.

    Chapter 5

Mark should bypass Insta and instead go old-fashioned and serenade Sandro with some simple gay funny love song/poem. Nothing like coming out to him in his public front yard. 🎶 Tip toe through the tulips with me. 🎶 A little tongue in cheek but whatever the boys need from each other needs to be agreeable to at least satisfy their comfort zones and expectations.

    Teen brain?

    Chapter 5

Paralyzing fear of losing your best friend and crush because they haven’t shared that fact that they’re gay and you haven’t shared with them likewise, both for probably the same reason. Mark has just now come out to his parents but remember that it been 6-months and Sandro has only been out now for a short time himself; maybe a little longer with his immediate family but it doesn’t seem likely since both sets of the parents have been trying to get to the bottom of this situation. Personally I think both boys need to write a 4 paragraph letter to the other, Only one simple/short sentence <15 words for each item mentioned: 1. Apologize for their own confusion and contributions since friendship lockout 2. Simple What, when, and how/why they’ve been dealing with their problems 3. What they would like to happen; for themselves and for each other. 4. Request the other to see them; private but chaperoned. House office with at least one parent each available perhaps. The letters should remain private but need a pledge of being complete and sincere. This would break the ice and de-escalate the conflict between the boys enough to talk. Yet it would be a safe space by set up but make no promises other than to clear the air and hopefully find a common friendship still alive but maybe bruised.

    Chapter 4

That’s a pretty good run on Mark’s teen depressed defensive logic…been there too. The teen version of F it.

    Chapter 4

The nest punch will be that special sticky sweet lemonade rum; one or both may puke their guts out and stumble home hopefully arms over each others’ shoulders; just please don’t let it be drunken teen driving and death or near-death visits with the reaper.

    Chapter 3

So true, the claw marks just go deeper to back up…nope, you can’t make me.

    Chapter 2

I think he’s major depressed, thinking who could want him…when his own bestie and his crush didn’t choose him either. The harsh homophobic reply was after Mark had blurted his slur but it seems Sandro didn’t have a problem or reservations before that. It’s a shame kids choose such harsh responses and draw such absolute lines, but I remember at probably around 12yo being very jealous of my bestie starting to spend a lot of time with two other friends, so what did brain child do, I stopped spending time with any of them. 🤦‍♂️ However, in retrospect it was probably best as them got caught shoplifting during their afterschool escapades; the time while I normally did my paper-boy deliveries and probably contributed to the new friends for my bestie. Instead of homework first, he liked to hang before his mother returned from work as a single mom.

    Chapter 2

I sometimes wonder if it’s not acting homophobic as a defense but also a combination of trying to gage how much the friend will agree or whether they maybe rebut telling them it’s no big deal… chill. I know it’s faulty logic…teen logic, so it does make me wonder.

    Chapter 1

Ahhh, explosion of hormones without a owners Manuel…or the internet as a reference without knowing the right questions.

    Chapter 1

Not reading ahead but probably a very good reflection of the transition from young besties, that we and only we share the closest secrets and friendship, others are just friendly acquaintances. Then comes the reality…maybe not all secrets are shared, both ways. Why did he start like him when we were besties? Doesn’t he know that I have feelings for him, and now he chooses him?

    Chapter 1

    Chapter 4

No doubt a discussion would help them both help the other. Troy has fears of any 16yo that he’s about to have commitments when freedom and independence seems simple. Yet, he doesn’t realize the ranch may actually be the freedom and independence that he wants…to live a life he can enjoy be shaped or tailored somewhat more for his personal tastes. There are many, many options that may still include the ranch, especially if Morgan gets to stay and if Morgan embraces more of the ranch life as his own destiny.
  22. Philippe

    Chapter 4

What 16yo kid knows what they truly want and what the significance of their decision will have? Troy does think he wants the ranch, yet he obviously loves the freedom and competition of riding. Life is play-doh and one thing changing changes more than one thing. Morgan is a kid that is disparately needing family, someone and something to care for and to receive that same precious commitment from them. Eric could react badly, not wanting an underaged hand and the legal repercussions of that. But I feel that is not likely. Yet, how do you deal with a kid that is more likely to run than to trust another placement from child protection services? Furthermore, CPS of present state would likely push this problem back to his home state…which may want to push this late teen off on legal detention than to deal with an abused and neglected child. It’s the old pointing game where someone else’s problem is the easiest solution for bureaucracy..or the converse where one agency needs or wants to demonstrate their power and will just because they can; and which solution they come up with has little to do with truly helping the child known as Morgan or Miles. Miles would time out or age out before the bureaucracy offers real and caring help. 😢

    Chapter 4

Well then, I completed Intro to Parkinson’s back in college; perhaps 101, 201, and maybe even 301. After that, I don’t remember…it’s all a little hazy, the 1970s that is. 🤷‍♂️
