Yeah I think you hit the nail on the head. He didn't have to tell her, but he had to tell her.

I think raymond's just a guy who wants to do the right thing. He's human, though, and he finds himself screwing up left and right. I don't think that takes away from the kind of person his character was, though. At least, I tried to make it where he didn't come off as the bad guy.

The first drafts of chapter one weren't as detailed as the final draft was. A lot of the credit goes to my beta readers for their help and honest opinions. You're right that Raymond doesn't have it easy, but I think a lot of the blame for that goes to himself.

I just saw on the news where China's former Food and Drug chief was executed for taking bribes. I'm not sure what to think...on one hand, his actions led to the approval of one drug that killed ten people. On the other hand, I'm not a big fan of the death penalty unless it's an extreme case. I honestly haven't made up my mind on whether or not this was extreme enough to end the man's life. China has a history of executing its citizens for things like possesion of marijuana and fraud, so I guess this shouldn't be too surprising. What I'm wondering, though, is what everyone thinks. Was it the right thing to do? Should we speak out as a nation against China's capital punishment system? Do you think the UN should condemn today's execution? What about executions here in the US? Should we still be executing people in the year 2007? Please discuss.

I think the most important part of his behavior is that he has no idea why he does it. He just knows he likes the way his moms makeup smells and he thinks it's fun to put it on. You're right, Graeme, it could just be curiousity. Or it could be something more. I guess he'll find out in a few years. The thing is, if he is gay, how will his mom react? My interpretation is that he might be gay already and his mom knows it but hasn't accepted it yet. James probably has no idea. I think he loses his keys because he's a careless ten year old God no...he's just a made up character. I needed a name and that was the one I used
