Chapter 17: Destined Detectives
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 17: Destined Detectives
Um, that last word? Just use the first three letters! 🤣 To paraphrase: Any port with a hole. 😇 -
Chapter 16: Diverging Destiny
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 16: Diverging Destiny
Um, sorry Aaron. Ya lost me as a reader for that one. I am so tired of the zombie genre. -
Chapter 16: Diverging Destiny
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 16: Diverging Destiny
I haven't read a single comment, but I just had to say... Oh Bloody Hell! You didn't! Ingle and Dirk? Destiny mated? -
Chapter 15: Shore's Showdown
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 15: Shore's Showdown
I'm thinking that he is doing this on his own. -
Chapter 7: Mourning Man
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 7: Mourning Man
One of my friends used to be a State Cop. Several years ago, he was shot (twice in the pelvis) on a routine traffic stop near the Idaho-Utah border. It has taken him many years to recover and re-qualify. He is currently our County Sheriff. Just elected for his second term. -
Chapter 7: Mourning Man
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 7: Mourning Man
That's certainly interesting. In my little town of Rupert, ID. (pop 5K - Minidoka County seat) all the city police wear IIIA. Most of the county sheriffs deputies are issued IIIA but buy their own III. SS90 is still pretty lethal stuff. -
Chapter 13: Vexatious Victory
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 13: Vexatious Victory
The thing I loved the most about the battle was that it was actually centered around someone other than Vinny! Sure, Vin captured the flag, but if Kaplan hadn't sacrificed himself, it wouldn't have happened! -
Chapter 7: Mourning Man
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 7: Mourning Man
Yes, but that is why I used the specs for type IIIA. The SS190 AP will defeat IIIA, but we were talking about a silver alloy projectile. That cannot be made AP and will not defeat type IIIA. -
Chapter 12: Confusing Contest
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 12: Confusing Contest
This has been bugging me since the second book. The fact that even Stuerm wasn't surprised (or afraid) when they showed up to arrest him, gives lie to the so-called fear factor. So where is all that so-called evil shadow mages coming from? It only sorta showed up in the first book! -
Chapter 7: Mourning Man
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 7: Mourning Man
Info from a 2013 article in The Firearms Blog: SS197 sporting ammunition from a handgun will not penetrate IIIA armor SS190 armor piercing ammunition (FMJ - Military & LEO restricted) from a handgun will defeat soft body armor 5.7 (SS197) from a 16″ barrel will slice through body armor, but only FMJ will defeat stronger stuff Surplus German helmets (Kevlar) are really, really strong -
Chapter 11: Forgotten Father
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 11: Forgotten Father
Of course this is Tasha's father. Caleb stepping in front of his Alpha is a non-sequitur. He's gonna take the heat so that Mason does not get involved. I didn't remember that Tasha's dad was an Alpha. If he is just a Delta, then that leopard may be no match for the angry lion. -
Chapter 7: Mourning Man
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 7: Mourning Man
Does not matter. They were technically on duty (an active investigation). I don't know of any jurisdiction where you don't wear your BA from when you leave your house to when you return. Even Dirk would be wearing it. Like any tool a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) uses: It's better to have and not need it, than to need it and not have it. FYI: If the shot was up near the collarbone, That is one of the weak points of the BA. Include the armpits as another weak point. Let's just call this literary license and leave it at that. 😉 -
Chapter 10: Role Reversal
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 10: Role Reversal
Lest we forget, Vinny used to visit once a year. If Stefan wanted to catch Vincent unawares, showing up at the grave-site just might do it. It might anger Vincent enough that Stefan might take him out! -
Chapter 7: Mourning Man
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 7: Mourning Man
Another thought made to my fore-brain. Ingle was not wearing his body armor. That is a distinct no-no! I won't go into the caliber, it's force, or it's effect. -
Chapter 9: Occupational Opportunity
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 9: Occupational Opportunity
It just occurred to me. Ty and Dirk have asked for sanctuary. We have yet to have that Pack meeting to accept them. How fast can Dirk master enough of his mage magic to execute his Mage Dance? -
Chapter 8: Psychotic Plunge
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 8: Psychotic Plunge
That would likely mean that Aaron caused Stacey to go Bye-bye. Then there would have to be some kind of intervention by at least one of the gods... Nah. Not gonna happen. -
Chapter 7: Mourning Man
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 7: Mourning Man
This is a pretty deep rabbit hole you want us to go down. Are we sure Fenn didn't conjure it up? -
Chapter 6: Intractable Instincts
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 6: Intractable Instincts
Unless it was a head-shot, Ingle should be OK. If he wasn't wearing his body armor, then he should be castigated!... If the shot wasn't fatal. I was really hoping my guess in chapter 5 wasn't correct. sigh. OK, I'm gonna say this with all the love I can put in this... Assbite! -
Chapter 5: Comprehending Crime
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 5: Comprehending Crime
The culprit was in my sights, but Dan South's comment clinched the deal. Interesting dynamic! Oh hell! Interesting setup!!! -
Chapter 4: Prompt Proposal
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 4: Prompt Proposal
Bah! Humbug, I say! After the buildup, this was a letdown. I was really hoping to see you let loose Ty's fighting prowess... But I suppose when you call for backup, and that backup is the nuclear option, well, crap! Stacey is coming around, but I think we all knew she would. Eventually. Mason's marriage proposal? Symbolic, but a nice touch. -
The one thing that has been foreshadowed, but not outright said is that Wes is an Alpha. Young and not fully in tune with what he is, but an Alpha nonetheless.

Chapter 3: Beta's Betrayal
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 3: Beta's Betrayal
Now we're getting somewhere! Somehow I don't think it is going to be as easy as it sounds. I suspect there's more to Hunter than meets the eye. I also suspect that Stuerm won't be easy. One doesn't hold that kind of power for that long without having much more at one's disposal. -
Yes, and obvious to Cyrus and his pack. I know Wes had to stop for Issac's sake. At the same time, heading for his families cabin? Really wouldn't have helped unless Wes could talk them into leaving at once. That was not going to happen.

Chapter 29: Inconsolable Inferno
Al Norris commented on astone2292's story chapter in Chapter 29: Inconsolable Inferno
Since DitS is already being written, or has been written, my comment here is likely useless... Except for those Johnny-come-lately's like me! Vincent was slipped an old style flip-phone by Stephan with his encounter on the rooftop. Way back when. Unless I've had a memory problem, the EC did not give him a emergency contact phone. He was given contact info for his current smartphone by that EC beta dude. Anyway, this tells me that Vincent is getting ready to contact Stephan for the final battle. I think he will be stopped by Mason, because let's face it... Vinny is not ready yet. So... I was right in that Shaw was not the mole. I was wrong in that there is a mole. And it's someone Shaw knew. Wonder what that partial letter was? Did it survive the fire? Have we meet this person? So many questions, so few answers at this point. -

Um, serendipity strikes again! 😹
