Chapter 1 - Echoes From the Past
Al Norris commented on Bill W's story chapter in Chapter 1 - Echoes From the Past
Very nice Halloween story, Bill. Nice to read it! Al. -
@travlbug "utimata" n. plural - more than one ultimatum I'm actually impressed that someone knows/remembers their Latin!!! It appears, on the surface, that things are starting to turn around for Davey. I'm still not sure what Brian is going to do to change the timeline. And we still haven't heard much about Sean. I'm sorta worried about that.

While the above is certainly true, we only know this now because of the amount of time that has lapsed and the studies done since 1983. Back then, no one knew these facts. Back then, there was very little distinction between HIV and AIDS in the public's mind. Back then, all we heard about was that when someone was diagnosed, they inevitably died within a short period of time. Back then, the tests for the HIV markers were expensive, time consuming and inaccurate at best. Back then, the tests for full blown AIDS were really just being established. If you were diagnosed, because none of the current drugs were available, it was a death sentence and you were not likely to survive more than a year or two. Those are the facts as the public knew them, back in 1983.

Finally found enough time to pick this back up and do some more reading. Yay Me! If I am understanding things well enough, the death of the inventor before he invents the machine would cascade the new paradox in as much as there would be no other travelers! Problem solved.

Actually, I thought for sure that Colton was going to morph into his War Form and screw the hell out of Parker... So wrong, I was!!! LOL!
-
So now we have it confirmed. Colton is an Alpha. As he mated with Parker he instinctively turned into the War Form (half wolf-half human) and gave Parker that 'little' love bite as he ejaculated. I do wonder if the Pack Alpha will allow a sub-pack?...

First time I'm reading this story. Yeah, I'm the Johnny-come-lately here... I'm still going to give my observations and thoughts about the story. I normally don't read gay stories that have to have sex in every chapter. I understand that this story was written back in those days that a gay author simply had to have sex in his stories or the readers simply stopped reading. Still, there is a plot here and there is character development. So much can be forgiven in reading the story in this day and age. There are types of people that simply have to have 'trophies,' as spouses. The Trophy Wife; The Trophy Husband; even The Trophy Child (or children). Sad but true that certain aspects of our society demand this. Here, I believe that the Montgomery's are 'trophies' to each other. I'm even betting that Parker was their trophy child, right up to the time he came out to the parents. I suspect the only time the parents paid attention to Parker was when they trotted him out to their 'friends.' When Parker came out, even that stopped. From what we've learned about the makeup of this household so far, it makes a lot of sense to me. Not sure if Rob was actually writing this in that manner, however, everything dove-tails if one thinks of Parker's life in this manner. As more of this story is revealed, my thoughts could change. As it stands, I'm enjoying this little romp through the werewolves realm! I sure hope that Colton isn't procrastinating in telling his dad because he's not sure how the dad and his Alpha will react. That Colton appears to be a budding Alpha himself, could set up an interesting future with this Pack.

It's been a while since the last chapter ... OK, It's been a long, long while since the last chapter. Many things have conspired to delay Kyle from writing the next installment. However, what I do know is that the next chapter is well on its way to being written. Um, I think. The last word I had was that the most current chapter stands at about 150,000 words and is not finished! I also know that there are several more sections he has to finish before it goes to the editor (any guesses as to how many more words will be added?). So, we don't really know when it will get published. I have been told that I can not break this chapter into smaller "chunks". I am hoping this next installment will be this year. Who really knows! The gods are speaking to him, not I (I think Rovnar is guiding/inspiring Kyle).

Oh My! And here I was thinking that I was the only person that had a magical bus ride (back in the 60's, no less)! Great story, Comsie.
-
I really don't have anything constructive to say, other than both the last chapter and this one leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
-
Well, I did say that unless something else happens (last chapter)... I almost wish that kiss with Todd had went just a bit further. Davey needs to be slapped upside his head with the fact that because of his need to put family ahead of his own life, he damn near ruined what he had with Brian. In every timeline. Saying 'somewhat' is being overly kind.
-
Unless something else transpires to prevent it, both Davey and Brian are in the process of painting themselves into a disastrous corner.
-
So Brian takes a page out of Davey's playbook. As others have noted, Sandy is going to need a money manager, else her winnings will shortly be gone. Not sure how Sean coming back into the picture is going to play out. Brian's relations with Trevor and Brandon are not back to what they were, plus we now have Todd thrown into the mix.
-
Roe v Wade, Jan 1973. I'm betting that the baby is not Brian's. Too much time has passed since New Years. I'm betting she ends up getting an abortion.

For everyone talking about Davy going back, I hope you all realize that he will be going back as a 7 year old (again). Now... where is that other shoe? I know it is around here, somewhere!
-
Gee... Now the religious fanatics not only get to demonstrate against Jeremy (for being diseased), but also the queers that go to the school! Mr. Rule may even go so far as to include Davey! After all, suspicion equals guilt in Mr. Rules world!

Back in chapter 1, I opined that I didn't think the memories were gone based on things Sean had said in 'Redux'. OK, so I'm vindicated... Wish I weren't because it opens that whole can of worms, even if the other travelers are dead.
-
If the gentleman had bothered to read the prior comments before posting his, he would have known this. I must also say that it is bad form to comment on an authors style , grammar or word usage in such a public way. These types of criticisms are best left to the private venue(s).

I think we need to remember a couple of things. First, we were told that one name in particular was left off the list. That was Sean, I'm sure. Next, Sean is not the shrimpy little nerd he was in the other timelines. He's actually pretty buff now. Perhaps he is a little on the small side, yet because he has been hanging with Davey, he is buff. I'm still not convinced that Davey's memories are gone. There was much that Sean revealed in "Redux" that might well indicate otherwise.

The conversation and speculation (of us readers) of the last three or four chapters is all over the board! At this point of the story, I'm really uncertain as to how the interpersonal relationships will end (or start). I do think it will be interesting however.
-
Jeesh! In this timeline, nothing is going well at all. We have almost complete role reversals of Davy's Mom and Dad. David and Sam's father is now an antagonist (what will he be like when he finds out Davy is gay?). Brian is not the Brian Davy imagines (and I suspect that this is going to crush him - although, there are several clues of who might be able to pick up the pieces). As many here have noted, there are way too many people who now know about Davy. I am not sure how dkstories is going to handle this, moving forward. I guess I will just have to keep reading to find out. sigh.

The whole thing... From the call to the eavesdropping is a definite "Oh Shit!" moment. I'm pretty much with everyone else. Prison? Internment? A rose by any other name....

Dr. Bitner... Hmm, I wonder what his doctorate was in? Pretentious little twit!
