A human Death magician (a necromancer?) and a Rephaim (fallen angel?) as partners for the Theocracy... Sorta familiar to the Hubris world. First or second iteration? Moving on.
-
I am so looking forward to where this is going to go. Right now, it is obvious that the story is departing from the original.
-
I'm up with that!

Good Chapter, @Justin4Fun. Even if we have to wait for who the new Baronet is! 🤔 And I agree with @centexhairysub. Greg needs to stop adopting so many children. Give some others a chance, will you?

Since most of your works are either abandoned or Long Term Held... Which story would you recommend I read?

Skold is an elf. As one of the Fae, he is immortal. How he lost his reproductive organs could be the reason he is sociopathic.

Interesting. Thanks guys! I never gave a savings account a single thought.

The partnership is only half cemented... Quin now needs to take Orion.

I'll add to the conversation, as far as the money is concerned. U.S. Banking laws and regulations are stringent even back in 2004. If the mother's name was not on the bank account, by whatever means she took the funds out of the account, it was theft. Because it involved banking, it is a Federal felony. It may even be a State crime. In this case, it could be a misdemeanor based on the amount of money involved. Different States, different laws. The Feds will look at what happened and it will be up to the U.S. Attorney to determine if they want to pursue the case. Because of the facts of the case (and they will know), they may just turn it over to the State (usually along with what the FBI has determined). Whatever happens, the Mother will be put under a microscope. Having written all of that, Quinn would not be allowed to have an account without one of the parents as a signatory (because he was a minor). Hence, no crime.

Near Corpus Christie, IIRC.

So much for a rogue wave... It's a storm surge!

Um, no. It was Quin being an ass. He walked away from Orion as Orion was starting to explain why he didn't need help. Aiden explained it to Quinn a bit later. Nice deflection! (are you in politics?)

I can't even imagine what it might be like to get run over by a boat of any modest size. Anywhere near the screws would have to mess you up. Hitting them is a non-starter and likely not survivable. Quinn needs to give a serious and heartfelt apology to Orion. And that's regardless of anything else that might happen between them.
-
At least I'm not starting this story as late as I did the last one I commented upon. So I hope that Quinn's issues are in the chapters I have yet to read... If not, oh well!

Take your time Mark. Some of us have been waiting for several years... What's a couple more? There are many reasons a mother may not want to let go, just as there are many types of maturity in middle teens. I don't miscount any of the reasons or the levels of maturity. For Danny's Mom, it's not so much a matter of control as it is a matter of help with the little ones. For Danny, Brad's actions will only get worse. He instinctively knows this. Does he go where his heart demands or does he stay to protect his brother? It's a decision I'm glad I never had to make.

I simply cannot understand how a vampire (of all beings) could be any style of Christian. As Greg has said, believe what you want. Just don't force your belief(s) upon others. Lake Placid will be better off in the long run! Now we have the twins. In the original, they were brothers, but different ages, IIRC. Also a different Baronet. I don't remember if they were both gay, but at least one of them was. So I suspect that one or both are gay here. I wonder which one will be the next Baronet of Lake Placid? Hmm, new twist (for Greg and the rest of the vamps), they are both the new Baronets!

Christopher will have one chance to redeem himself, regardless of whether his family is carrying contraband. Considering how this society creates children, I can't see anything wrong with threesomes (or more). I do wonder about so-called incest laws. I would think the twins would copulate with each other as much as they would with Marc. That's assuming that they don't now! There is the dilemma of how this Bond would work. Something Marc is thinking about. I'm sure that he will have a plan worked out if the Bond is made. @P. E. Knapp, you have rewritten all the laws of sexuality and gender with this society you have created. Finally, I like how Marc engineered Hugo to be placed on the same ship as Rory and Janek.

A shark's tooth necklace! I remember those. I don't know how it was in the rest of the world, but back then it was something that a lot of surfers wore. I can understand why Jake has left. Frank knows what he did to Jake. Frank and his mate. They could get Jake at almost any time and no one would care. Certainly not the local constable. It's the inscription in the book that makes me worried. Is Jake gone for good? That will crush Danny. Young love, first love. You never really forget about that.

Like others, I am enjoying the easy pace of this story. I think it's because of the relaxed way the storyline is being presented. I am so used to the high drama in most of the romance stories. While I generally like Sci-Fi/Fantasy, this story is a breath of fresh air!

Yes, I see that. If these parties are to continue, upgrades would almost be mandatory.

I think that once Russ gets home and thinks a bit, he will realize that the guys weren't out for his money. The email should clinch that thought. This experience may be what they all need to seal their friendship.

I have a story that I posted here, @Talo Segura. If you read the prologue (mostly autobiographical) you will get a good idea of how my life was growing up. Unlike the character in my story, I lived at home until I turned 17. At the end of the school year (11th grade), I joined the Marines (my mother was going to enlist me in the Army - I knew I would end up in Vietnam, so I wanted to be trained in the best). I took and received a GED (General Educational Diploma) in boot camp.

Minor error: Toby is already 14, so he would be going on 15.

In my younger days, I used to surf. Used to go to Huntington Beach, CA. I've had one or two good rides like that. Nothing compares to that feeling you get when a wave you're on feels just perfect! Yeah, no one but Frank Thompson... I have a bad feeling about this. 😢

I could keep quoting but that's enough to show the suspicions of readers. This is a highly unusual venture for a security business. 'Nuff said!
