Chapter 9 - Sacrifice of Angels
Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 9 - Sacrifice of Angels
That's likely the reason I read such stories. As much as we all like HEA's, life simply isn't that way. Once in a while, I have to read a true-to-life story because it is true to real life. It reminds me that as much as we've won, we still have a long way to go to be accepted in mainstream society. -
Oh boy! That was a risk worse than what JP did with Andre! I certainly hope this was a campus cop. Chances are good that he did not get an ID on Peter. I hope the cop is dead. Mostly because at that time, there would be nothing to implicate either Peter or JP. Well... Unless there was a witness to the escape.

Chapter 10 - Forgiveness
Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 10 - Forgiveness
For now. It remains to be seen how long that lasts. I have long wished that everyone would just forget about it. sigh. It's a hold-over from growing up in the 50s and 60s that the fewer people who paid attention to me, the less paranoia I had to deal with. Constantly moving from school to school helped quite a bit... I was rarely at one school long enough to do anything to grab attention. Of course, that meant that I hardly ever made friends with anyone... Until my Junior year in High School. -
First-time reader here, Mark. In 1962, I was 11 years old (December Birthday). I had already had sex many times, although I didn't call it sex... It was 'Foolin' Around' with a friend, usually at a sleepover. However, I knew enough that nobody could know what happened. It was unspoken and not admitted outside of the bedroom. It was another year before I began to realize how badly other people, friends, and kids would take that knowledge. This was not a good time in my life.

Good Start to the story. Marc is as gung-ho as he ever was! I love how he keeps all his friends and lovers somewhere in the upper levels of that complicated mind of his. Are we sure he is not a Cyborg? LOL!!! 🤣🤣🤣

So here we go! The CONFED supplies Marc with a bed partner and secretly an agent in intelligence. Considering the advanced medical science of the era, I wonder how much older Austin was! Good prologue, @P. E. Knapp.

Coming in rather late but I really enjoyed this story, Mark. The characters were well drawn. Even if Roger and Devon were a bit pretentious, they were not overboard. Then you gave us Keller and Jason. They were a hoot! The fact that neither couple could say how they felt about each other was fun. I don't go into the kind of relationships they had (open, polyamorous, BDSM... whatever). People should be able to love how they want, as long as everyone agrees with the method and manner. In the end, it was nice to see that things appeared to work out for each couple. Thanks for letting us be a part of the story.

Oh, that was so bad! SMH! 😱 See? After the end of the last chapter, I just knew that Sam was going to think something like that was happening. Tim and Ben have been friends forever. Now he and Sam were living with 3 other gay guys... Seeing them holding hands, well, a girl can have doubts! The good thing is that Guy totally trusted Tim and that alone should have been the end of it. I'm guessing that Sam is a bit insecure in relationships. They are still new, ya know?

Restraining orders aren't worth the court cost. A piece of paper means nothing to anyone who wants to attack you.

Why do I get the feeling that Cottontail's brother was the original Xpress? That Cottontail took it over this semester?

What Sort of Rabbit Has Feathers?
Al Norris commented on Laura S. Fox's story chapter in What Sort of Rabbit Has Feathers?
No, that should read, "Rabbit boy is really depressed. I hope he enjoyed his orgasm and sees his opponent differently. He might really see him for more foreplay." Maybe? 😁 -
I wonder what the definition of "soon" is?
-
@Myr, thanks for this "one shot." It is an enjoyable story that could be extended to go in several different directions.

I'm sure glad this was labeled as a historical fantasy! 1864 and two guys kissing on the fantail, in full view of anyone on deck? Can you say, Men Overboard? Regardless, the first couple of paragraphs were just what it took to drag me in. Kicking and screaming, I'll have you know! Like @Lee Wilson, I'm not much of a romantic, however, this chapter was enough that I want to see where it goes. Thank you for the invite, @Albert1434.

Chapter 7 - The Monster
Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 7 - The Monster
Abrasive? Tell me it isn't so! Whatever Gus has gone through, it is enough that he sees the many signs in Ben. Perhaps between him and Gav, Ben might resolve a few of his issues. I don't think so. If you don't like yourself, you can't accept that others may like you. Now move that up to the next level - Love. I hope some sort of breakthrough happens before Ben suicides. sigh. @Jeff Burton, I'm sure hoping that in writing these stories they provide some catharsis for you. -
After these two chapters, I'm not sure I want to read - horrifying thought! Ben won't make it to Saturday at the rate his anxiety is mounting. This, I believe, is what's driving the anxiety. A part of Ben really, really likes Josh. The other part is terrified because of his prior sexual abuse. We can see that in the way he reacted when Alex touched him. Regardless of any label we might attach to Ben, admitting he likes Josh that way is to accept that he liked all the abuse he went through. That's what his mind is telling him. He can't do that. He hated what happened to him. Therefore he cannot accept such thoughts without mental conflict. Gavin has his work cut out. I'm not sure Gavin will be able to work Ben through all of this. 😢😭

I couldn't remember if Jay was with Scott when the boys took their summer trip to the Gold Coast. I remembered Scott, but not Jay. But yeah, it's nice to have them all there.
-
The nice thing about this chapter is that we see the return of Scott and Jay. After reading The Rip I was hoping the time frame was such that they were still there!

Chapter 5 - It's Complicated
Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 5 - It's Complicated
I'm not sure what I think about this chapter. I'm obviously rooting for Ben. I do think (like many) that Josh likes Ben, perhaps more than a friend, but at least as a friend. Josh is being careful, he has an idea of how damaged Ben may be. To be quite frank, I'm not sure that Ben will be able to make it. He has so much hurt to overcome. Alex is a putz (in the Yiddish sense). Gads! The band that put Canada on the Rock & Roll Charts! Always loved them. -
Tim and Ben, holding hands in a bit more than a friendly way, when Sam and Guy appear... Nope. Nothing to worry about, yes? It seems Ben still has a bit of a hangup when it comes to what others think of him.

I would do anything for Love, BUT I WON'T DO THAT!!! 😇 Meatloaf? even disco would be better!

Chapter 4 - Off The Beaten Path
Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 4 - Off The Beaten Path
Whew! 😰 I hate to say it... But it is now sink or swim time. Unfortunately, Ben has not been taught to swim! -
Chapter 3 - Days Like This
Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 3 - Days Like This
OK, I'll suspend belief for the story's sake and the State's implied power. But we should all know that the Judge will first say to the Social Worker, "So where is this boy you want to emancipate? Does he know you want to do this?" That they would do this without telling Ben is exactly what @Summerabbacat said. Ben is a throwaway! What these so-called Child Protectors have done is inexcusable. No, Ben is far from being ready. -

Are we sure that these two assholes aren't collaborating?
