While I'm still looking towards Dakota myself if Connor wants to sew some of them wild hormonal oats... I don't think it would hurt anyone's feelings. In other news, I see nobody picked up on the name this time around. Drake Fraener. Unless I'm told (or read) differently, he is a shifter of a certain variety.

I have a beta reader. He doesn't correct grammar or spelling. He reads what I've written and suggests improvements to the storyline, even to the point of writing small sections that I approve or disapprove of. My editor supplies proper grammar and spelling when needed. He also adds suggestions like my beta but only to make a scene more exciting. I now use Grammarly to keep things on an even keel.

With all the "wolf" talk in the previous chapter responses, this doesn't shock me. I think we all knew it was coming. What does kinda irritates is the loss of control that Ronin has. Hormonal teen or not, control should have been the first thing learned. Seeing that happen in the middle of Havre would not go over so well!

It kinda looks like Danny has found a kindred spirit in Jake. It also looks like Nate might be reconsidering his relationship with Danny. At least, suspicion seems to be creeping in.

Unfortunately, it will never happen. Too many of our religions (even today) do not believe in scientific evidence. Shut all the conversion therapy places down. Make them all unlawful. Parents will just send their gay children out... Or outright kill them.

As long as everyone is doing the "wolf" name thing... Connor (Conner or Conor) is Irish-Gaelic and means "lover of hounds" and "wise." ✔ I just had to look it up! 🤣🤭

So, gratitude prayer = modified serenity prayer. Sponsor = AA and/or NA. It seems some are surprised that a young man at 14 would be an addict and/or an alcoholic. Sorry to bust anyone's chops, but it happens. Far more often today than ever before. Yeah, Conner is doing something fast! From a few hairs to nocturnal emissions almost overnight. I wonder if he will need new clothes before he heads off to Montana.

We know from Chapter 1 that Conner looks younger than he is. At 14 (going on 15), Conner is closer in age than Dakota (16 going on 17) thinks. That Dakota can't seem to get Conner out of his thoughts bodes well that Conner may be the mate that Dakota is looking for.

Like @mansexlover, I'm kinda (as in extremely) late. Good opening chapter. I can already see that Conner has had a darker past than what is being shown here. I may be wrong, but those bedtime prayers say Conner has been in a Drug/Alcohol treatment facility. The above is a very modified version of the Serenity Prayer used by AA and most other 12-step programs. The giveaway is that Conner starts his prayer by his being "clean and sober."

The story is also going in a direction that the original didn't. Things just went very fast in the original. Not so fast in this remake. @Justin4Fun, thanks for reinvigorating your story. It seems so much better than it was.

I'm really glad that @Mark Ponyboy Peters decided to upload this story. It's been several years but I'm happy to read this bitter-sweet tale, once again. If this is your first time reading, hold onto your cajones! It gets a little wild.

The town is a small town. Any single young male (late teens to early twenties) who comes around and talks to mostly other young guys will get that label. People don't stop and think... Girls don't really hang out like guys do. When I moved to where I live, back in 1982, it was the same way. We had a population of about 2300, maybe 2700 if you counted all the farmers and their kids.

As I stated in another chapter post, stuttering is often a symptom of sexually abused boys. It should have been a giveaway to the so-called experts who examined Steve. -
This has been one of those stories where I'm hopeful of a HEA ending. After everything that everybody has gone through, a happy ending is almost mandatory! 🤓
