Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 9 - Sacrifice of Angels
I am so angry and saddened at the moment... Fuckin' Nathen! Fuckin' authors who have to kill off main characters!- 58 comments

Unfortunately, any blow to the head hard enough to cause unconsciousness means the person has a concussion. I take it you haven't read Bill's Castaway Hotel series?
-
I'm hooked. It might take me a day or two to catch up, gots me own work ta do!

Devin was knocked unconscious. That always means a concussion. How bad we don't know. The branch also hit his shoulder, so there may be damage there. Yeah, HIPPA can really get in the way sometimes. Gads! Mac will have to contact Devin's parents somehow. And Insurance? Should I mention classes?

Well done, Jeff. You ended everything just where it needed to be. I'm glad that I took the time to read this story. Thank you for taking us along!

Chapter 8 - The Boy Who Lived
Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 8 - The Boy Who Lived
Very nice wind down to the story. I see there is one more chapter to go, however, yes you could have ended here. Overall, a very good read! -
Chapter 7 - That Dark Day After
Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 7 - That Dark Day After
@Jeff Burton, I'd venture to say that if you had killed off Jacob, Travis would have spent the rest of his life trying to put Tylor's heart back together. I also suspect he would have succeeded. I am glad you didn't kill Jacob, though. I think there might have been a lynch mob formed... -
Chapter 6 - That Dark Good Night
Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 6 - That Dark Good Night
WTF!!! No Spoilers, @Lee Wilson! @Jeff Burton, I'm fairly confident that Jacob is alive. Why you might ask? Well, not because of what you and Lee were saying above. My first impression after reading the chapter was: "You Sorry Son Of A Bitch!" However, after reading through most of the first page of comments it occurred to me that if Jacob was dead, the chopper crew would have left the body with the ambulance crew. Jacob had to be alive for the chopper to fly him to the hospital. I know this doesn't mean he will be 100% whole, just that he was alive at the time of transport. So they must have gotten the heart started again. Hopefully, he was also breathing on his own. Still, and all, Asshole! making most of us cry like that!!!😭😭😭 -
"Like the Sands of the hourglass, so are the Days of Our Lives" Yet... those pesky sands keep running!

Certainly not in a new town you don't really know! Hmm... Names "Jacko" and he has extremely red hair... His last name wouldn't be Thompson, would it (see Seventeenth Summer)?

Chapter 5 - That First Day
Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 5 - That First Day
So much has gone on in this chapter. I would like to reiterate two points. There are two things that are absolutely essential to any relationship. Trust and Communication and not necessarily in that order. Trust is built upon honest communication. Break either one and the relationship is doomed. I really wish that parents would teach this to their children. Heck, there should even be a high school class on this (since parents rely upon the school system to teach these things - just like they did back in the Stone Age when I was a kid)! -
Chapter 1 - The incident
Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 1 - The incident
Um, the character in my story is not only younger than these guys but has taken several of them out! One is in a comma! Anyway, I are late to this bru-ha-ha! This is a continuity error (or issue - LOL). So, Tyler can't remember what that last convo with Jacob was about but has no trouble remembering as he talks to Matt in the hospital. Other than the above minor error, I'm not about to try and repeat (everything) what the other readers have said. Jacob's anger/hatred at being rejected, even by a best friend, should not have led to such a rage. Tyler, being almost beaten to death... Hard to believe he would be that forgiving. Not after all that Jacob had done before the beating! On to chapter 2... -
Chapter 8 - Blue on Black
Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 8 - Blue on Black
I was so pissed off at first, I had to calm down and finally marked the chapter with the "sad" emoji. I had said earlier that Nate had "changed" too fast. I was right. It wasn't real change it was masked. I won't repeat it but I agree 100% with @John Henry. I don't see Nate going to Cory's house because Linda and Carla would tear him a new ass! Nate has handled this whole episode 110% wrong from the start. I doubt that Cory will ever trust him again. I know I wouldn't. -
Two other stories in the same universe? I guess I'll have to read them. But I'm still trying to catch up with this story, so it may be a while...

Maybe it's just me but Nathen's turnaround seems to be too pat, too quick.

Chapter 2 - The next 2 days
Al Norris commented on Jeff Burton's story chapter in Chapter 2 - The next 2 days
Keptin! Shields are down to 60%! @Jeff Burton, this is the first story of yours that I've read (or started to...). You had me hooked on the first chapter! -
Color me impressed, @Summerabbacat. 🤣 Yeah, that's a song that can run in the background for a lot of the chapters!!!

So now we know why Ben and Sam hadn't come home last night. It's pretty obvious that Ben and Matt need to come to grips with each other. Ben isn't used to gay boys having the same grit as straight boys. It's foreign to what he knows. Ben is paranoid about Matt taking Sam away from him. This shows disrespect to Sam, which Ben begins to understand when Matt comes out and helps Ben clear the yard of debris. It was funny when Sam recognized what was going on with Ben and Matt and suggested they take their measuring contest outside!

So, we end this phase of Marc's growing up. He's off to OCS, and I'd bet he will do well. However, I dare say that this is going to teach him things he has never given a thought to. OCS is like that. Very nice ending chapter, @P. E. Knapp. I do wonder if Marc will meet his fated mate at OCS or will we have to wait for a different book of his adventures?

And sometimes it is rather fast. When the time came to place my wife's mom into care, it was only 9 months until she died.
-
Our boys are setting up housekeeping, sort of. Ben and Sam didn't come "home" that last night. Hmm... Wonder what could have happened? 🤣 Matt seems a bit leary of not just Ben, but living with a girl! We will just have to wait and see how this all breaks down.

IIRC, that is the way I first read the Thompsonville stories. On the same site, no less! 😄

I'm loving your version of colonizing a new world... Been talking to Elon Musk?

A beautiful love story, even if the real love is in the last part of the story. I liked how Charlie wanted to take a gap year to find himself. I laughed when he explained that he wanted to find out if he was bi or gay... And then remarked how women didn't exactly turn his crank! Yeah, it should have been a dead giveaway, Charlie! At least Charlie found someone to be gentle with him in New York. I can imagine how Tom felt when he "instructed" Charlie in the art of male lovemaking. 😁🤣 I'm sure that somewhere, somewhen, this type of story plays out. Thanks @Mikiesboyfor the pleasant walk!
