This turn of events was expected. Those in power for ages will do anything to remain in power. Even to the point of being bored by those they rule. They will still give them an audience, just to "show" they are still interested in their welfare. Nothing will change, however.

Most of that sort of stuff happens in Clark County (Las Vegas), Washoe County (Reno), and Ormsby County (Carson City - the capital). They are mostly progressive Democrats in nature. It is a blue state under our political maps. When looked at by county, you will see most of the rest of the state as being red (conservative Republican). Because the majority of Nevada's population lives in those 3 counties, they essentially rule the politics of the state. Now you know more about Nevada than you ever wanted to know.

I'm almost ready to believe something is building between Amos and Dagon.
-
An interesting observation.

Hmm, I've been wrong so many times... I'm gonna reserve my opinion at the moment!

More like an extension than a corollary.

Apparently, we have yet to hit bottom.

We've seen what Simon gets from his taking, and now we've seen what happens when he's giving! Oh, Joy!

Yes, it was a brilliant move. I understand Eyvnee's willingness to sacrifice so many (the needs of the few outweigh the needs of the many). I just hope that Amos and his buddy were able to escape the destruction.

Nothing like what I thought in the last chapter! @TeamStilinski has gotten this fantasy so convoluted, I'm not even gonna guess anymore.

I agree with @drsawzall. So to answer the riddle: How do you fight yourself? You change who you are. I guess I was only partially correct in the last chapter. Simon is not unconscious but in a middle place. Since the dead do not know they are dead and Simon knows he is, there is that chance to return to life. To do so, he must defeat his greatest enemy: Himself.

The Siege at Southport
Al Norris commented on TeamStilinski's story chapter in The Siege at Southport
Let's hope not. As some of us can tell you, the hurt can be almost unbearable. It never helps. It is better not to have had sex at all. -
The above is from chapter 5, "The Ceremony." I quoted that to remind us of why Yidian spoke in plural form in this chapter. I believe this is not just a single demon, but some type of amalgam of demons. I'm with @drsawzall and @drpaladin. My thinking is that Simon is just unconscious and hence Yidian cannot sense him.
-
Simon is merely asleep, and Yidian is going to use Simon's body to do his hunting, is my best guess. It seems @TeamStilinski is keeping the silver allergy alive in his world! That might be a problem for Simon, assuming Simon has absorbed enough of Conner to change him. Unless Yidian has been counteracting the werewolf curse. That thought makes me wonder if Yidian has been counteracting the wolfsbane. Hmm...

Hmm, besides the conjectures above, I'm still wondering about the Abbot/wizard and the evil Lord.

I like how you think! Needless to say, things begin to ramp up from here on out.

There is a fundamental difference between Cattle/Mining towns, here in the West, and farming towns or what most are used to (city, urban, and suburban domains). Those who live in the town are either employees of the cattlemen or mines whereas the rest are merchants whose livelihoods are the cattlemen or mine owners. Things can happen at breakneck speed if the normal order is threatened. Perhaps not so much 'progressive' as they take note of those that stand on their own two feet. Something Peter has done from the start. Thank you for that. I have an excellent beta reader to help with all of that. Luckily a dislocated shoulder heals much quicker than fully stretched or torn ligaments!

I had figured that Amos loved Gregor. So that was no surprise. What will be a surprise is if Simon also loves Amos and how that might work out! I am a bit surprised that our slimy Abbot would use his own troops to take Westwood. If there are escapees... The next town will be duly warned and on guard. I also wonder when Simon will see through what has been done to him.

I don’t remember much of what happened after that freak grabbed me. Oh, I remember the pain alright. At first, my arm hurt, when the Principal grabbed me. When he jerked me out of the chair, my shoulder exploded in a fireball of pain. Man, that hurt so bad, I can’t even begin to describe it. It wasn’t until later in the afternoon, when we got back home, that I found out what had happened at the school. That was only because Mr. Lundquist told us, but I’m getting ahead of myself. I guess I s

I'm a tad late to the party on this chapter... Everyone had said most of what I'd say, so... Great chapter, Bill.

Yeah... I probably should have noted that my "Who would have thought" was pure hyperbole at most and rhetorical at the least. -
First, they have to find Stanley!

Injecting a bit of magic, eh? Who would have thought... -
Yeah, these last couple of chapters almost rival what Kyle Aarons writes in his Kandric Saga!

I was 12 and in the 7th grade. It was maybe a quarter to 11 am (pacific time) when a student from the office brought a note to our Social Studies teacher, who turned on the TV. I was busy reading our assignment when kids around me began crying (especially the girls) and making enough noise that I looked up to see what was going on. I can readily understand how Phillip feels that people today don't know about Nov. 22nd but don't even remember Sept. 11th. It looks like Colin and Jason might be getting closer. That's a good thing. Phillip needs something good to happen in his life.
