It all comes to a head with the next and final chapter, which I'll post sometime this Friday (Saturday for you Aussies!).

From Chapter 6: I am gratified that this little "clue" was given, even if many of you didn't remember it. There is only one other place where Peter asks George what it was all about, but I still don't reveal what happened between George and Turner. Peter knows. Most of the other characters know (because they asked their folks, off-camera). However, I've kept it a secret from you, my readers.

We’ve never really had a chance to talk about that.” “We were in their kitchen and I was being introduced to Jimmy’s parents. Mr. Breslen made some derogatory remarks about me. I guess he already knew about me because of the stuff in the news. Anyway, he said something about how Mr. Turner was going to fire him because

@Summerabbacat, I'm happy to say that it has been so long since I read this story, that I don't rightly remember what transpires between Luke and his dad. 😁

It looks like Hoss, at least, is still a friend. So, our boys can breathe easily with that knowledge. It's from Hoss that the warning about Davo comes from. To be expected, I suppose. I've never quite understood how people can look at a gay couple and immediately think of the sex between them and get disgusted. Do these kinds of people immediately think of the sex between a straight couple, also?

Mark, I read all of your stories over at CRVboy several years ago. It's been long enough that reading them here is almost like the first time. I finally broke down and with the encouragement of several friends, I wrote a story (which is finally being published here), some of it is autobiographical, and you're right. Sanity does eventually prevail. At least in my life, it did.

Despite the apparent levity of my first response to this chapter, it's basic street fighting 101. Don't step between combatants unless you plan to take them both on. I understand that Luke was going to try and get his Dad to back off and save Matt. However, that is not how you do it. The aggressor was Dad. That's who you take out first to defend Matt. I know it sucks, but that's how this game is played. Luke doesn't know how to street fight. Heck, he may not even know how to fight. So he interferes in the worst possible way. Think what might have happened if Matt suddenly decided to defend himself at that same moment! Luke would have been hit by both Matt and his Dad. Regardless of what Dad did, how long would Matt have felt the guilt (and remorse) for hitting Luke?

Nothing good comes from stepping in between two guys about to brawl. Well... You can always get clobbered by both of them!

Well, well, well! Jolanda wants Josel for her own plaything. Vargan knows this but lets her go anyway. He warns her and Jolanda dismisses her father's warning.

Just from the intro to her character, no, I don't think it will. Hmm, 2 boys and a girl... What are the odds? OK, I've got a filthy mind. LOL!!!

While I cannot say how this all ends, I do hope you enjoy 'the rest of the story.'

At least you are attempting to understand. It was a bad time for us, back then. In many places (the so-called Bible Belt) of the US, it still is. I live in the State of Idaho. South of us, are the States of Nevada and Utah. Utah is the 'home' of the LDS (Mormon) Church. It got so bad in Utah, that the Legislature there made it unlawful for Conversion Camps to operate in the State. Not so up here in Idaho. I don't know of any, but I'm sure they exist here. While the LDS heavily influences our politics, you also have to include the Roman Catholics and the Baptists. In that respect, we might as well be part of the Bible Belt. At least in the rural areas.

@John Henry, your health is more important! I sure hope Caleb is not badly injured.

@John Henry since you are writing a court scene... The only way this judge is going to get out from under a Judicial Review is to think about all the reversible errors he has promulgated and sua sponte issue a ruling for the defendant and against the petitioner with prejudice.

I hate to say it but I knew this was going to happen the second Luke gave into temptation.

There are a few of us that know how Luke felt. The last thing we ever wanted was for anyone to know we were queer (we were queers or faggots - gay hadn't been invented yet). When I was younger, 12 to when I went into the Marines, I only did things with 4 other boys. And then only at sleepovers and nothing was ever said in the daylight. This is not good!

[jumps up and down with a raised hand] I know, I know!!! 🤐

So much of this, the younger guys just can't relate to. There is no frame of reference between what we went through in the '60s and '70s and now. I'm just an old fuddy-duddy, what do I know?

We all do it. Sometimes more than once in a while! I'm just lucky that you had fixed it before I got around to reading it...

I am going to make a spreadsheet so that I can keep track of who's who and the various relationships! My imagination is running wild at what Evans may have done to Samual... Killing him may be too easy on the scumbag.

Interesting. I had figured out the Port Macquarie part. I didn't know about Coffs or Cathie. Now I have something to occupy my Google Earth look-ups! I haven't forgotten about Tim & Guy. Yes, it was Crvboy where I first read the stories. Gads! I had forgotten about that part.

Despite the so-called liberal attitude in some of the cities and States, being Gay is still seen as a perversion. It is still seen as a choice of lifestyle. It doesn't matter what current medical science says.

As much as some States and Counties may not like the Feds, the national fingerprint database (whatever they call it) is a real godsend for law enforcement. Still, the major failing of that system is that it only lists the arrest, not the disposition of the case. Yeah, I suppose that was a giveaway, wasn't it? More drama? In Pete's life? If you insist...
