I think we all have things that mean something to us. Places that have importance or ideas that play a part in our lives. I was chatting with someone and talking about my home here on Long Island and mentioned I was a only a five minute drive from the beach. It seemed to surprise them that I lived so close and that there was a beach. Okay, I'm about to be a little sarcastic but I can't help it. I live on an ISLAND so there is a BEACH around the island. However, I also know like so many people when you mention a country or a state for some people there is only one image and that is it. I live in the state of NY so for most people the immediate image is the New York City skyline and Manhattan primarily. However NY is also one of the largest states in the United States so there is a lot of other parts to it. I know when people mention other countries I do the same. I hear Britain and think London, France is Paris, and so on. I can't help it any more than others but that is just the first moment. I know there are dozens of cities, counties, villages all over the world and no one could be expected to know them all. Today however I decided I would start to take some pictures of things that have meaning. I will be posting the pictures shortly. The first is of a restaurant called Flo's which sits in Blue Point, NY. I know, first thought is, damn Wayne is off his diet again. The truth is this restaurant has been in business for 85 years now. It is only open from late spring to early fall. It has been a place my family has been going to eat now for 4 generations. My Grandfather use to take my father as a child. My father in turn took me and my brother. While neither of us have children, my Father has introduced it to my cousins who now bring their children. So it has a sense of local history and it is tied to my family and our past as well. The other sets of pictures are two from Patchogue, NY of the Great South Bay. This is the bay that sits between Long Island and Fire Island. It is beautiful in its own way and I want to take pictures from a few different view points. The next will be from closer to my own home area. So, seeing this is anyone else in the mood to show the beauty and history of things that are important to either your family or your local area?

Well Scott and Charlie are starting their romance. Things will be tender and sweet. Charlie isn't going to panic over everything but he is still getting use to the idea himself. Glad it is making you happy KC.

Endings and beginnings are never easy. It is hard when what you have thought was going to be the long run ends and you are left alone though neither one is really wrong. Charlie will go on and so will Tina.

Well Frosty would know when it comes to my work. I lean on her often to Beta and Edit my work. She is a treasure for that but even she never knows what I am going to hand her next. Glad you enjoyed my take on the world of Dream. I plan a short companion piece to this when Dream visits Death in his home. Figured turn about is fair play.

Renee the story came about because I had been watching the History channel. They were talking about how cats were revered, the story that they had nine lives, were suppose to be highly intelligent. I decided to play with that idea. What if cats were magical and had nine lives. Would they all be the same? What if they could change form? What would it do to them? So it became this story. My mind works in odd ways.

Barbara seems to be everyone's favorite. She is loosely based on my own Mom. You never knew exactly what she was going to say but she knew her children better than we knew ourselves.

Sometimes less is more. I don't have to paint a detailed picture. I told you his hair, eyes, and height, that he is thin and cute. You can easily fill in the details beyond that to make Charlie live for you.

Please, no side stories. I have enough on my plate as it is. LOL. Let me finish Charlie and the two other projects still waiting in the wings.

Charlie is a foodie. He doesn't have a fetish. Geez. Wait and see what is coming. Guesses in my stories never work well. You never know who is going to turn up to alter what you think might happen, by accident of course.

It was a challenge I set myself. I am glad it went well. That was one chapter I was sort of nervous about but both my editor and beta said it was good.

Going back to Charlie but there is one more time in the future that I plan to do both sides so everyone knows exactly what is going on in both their minds.

You make it sound like I am writing a thriller or something. This is just the day to day life. You have the good, the bad, the ugly, and everything in between.

LOL. KC like I would ever part far from Charlie. Just realize he is sort of the heart of the family. Whether he wants to be or not, everyone comes to him.

I am glad you have enjoyed this story so far. Charlie's story isn't over yet but it is finally beginning to get there. I don't think you can say I have rushed this tale. It started in September and after 21 chapters I've only managed to get you to November.
